For those worried about their bitcoin, please calm yourselves there has been no hack and your coins are safe and all accounted for.

I apologize for the lack of notice and the downtime, but there isn't much choice. We will update our users on Saturday.

So why is Nefario not making this announcement himself?

Very unprofessional how this was handled.

I think he did make that announcement himself. That text was directly copy/pasted from the GLBSE site, which is maintained by Nefario. But I agree a second announcement on the forum should have made as well. Now all we can do is wait for Saturday.

Which Saturday?

Just some Saturday. Isn't obvious?  Grin

Thanks for info... how are you affiliated with glbse? I thought nefario is the only person running it.

That is a quote from glbse when going to the site.  To me, not notifying for downtime is a big red flag that something unforeseen occurred.  I hope it is up again by Saturday and there is not some kind of announcement on why it is down.

Yubikeys have been added as a method of two factor authentication.

Currently supported are standard yubikeys (ordered from Yubico).

We will add support for MtGox Yubikeys once I get the key in the post.

Watch for new graphs and API coming out very very soon.

Will the old API still be available while we adjust to the new one?

Yes.

Nefario,

I read all over the board sentences like "PM me for bulk share pricing". Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only way to execute such an order would be share transfer between accounts.

And yet, you are telling people not to do that (like noticed in a very recent IRC session).

I was wondering if there could be an option to sell bulk shares (i.e. price valid for a given number of shares purchased) at a set price?

Can we get history added to the API please? Basically the js array included in the HTML; one for trades and one for dividends. It would make graphing things like
Price + Total Dividends - IPO Price
easier.

Nefario,
Any idea when the last dividend paid per share will be added to the public api?  It would make me any my shareholders very happy.

Thanks for adding this Nefario!  You are the man.

Also some great news, thanks to LWCoder for creating an awesome GLBSE Android client, it's up on the GLBSE front page (you'll need to logout to get it).

That's great. But is this an official endorsement of the app by GLBSE? Does it mean that the source code of the app has been audited and that it won't try to do anything funny with my API key?

I'm not accusing anyone of anything, just want to know what the level of endorsement of this app is by GLBSE.

No it does not, but the only thing the API can do is buy/sell and get your account details.

I can think of all kinds of nefarious uses (no pun intended) of the ability to buy/sell on many other people's accounts. I'm just worried about your blatant endorsement of a third-party app on the front page without any kind of review. I assume you do not want to be held liable for anything that might happen if the app happens to go rogue some day. You should probably put in at least a disclaimer about this.

(Unless LWCoder works for GLBSE, in which case I'm just spewing garbage here and I'll shut up about it).

I now found out how to install glbse when you cant access the android market. I installed the market from 1mobile.com on my phone and installed the gauth from there. It worked and my glbse is now secured. I only hope 1mobile.com is secure but i didnt find any voice that says its not secure.
So i can use it now and feel better to load up higher amounts of btc... Smiley
