Nope see post here. This is a case of giving a dog a bad name. GFC is also a victim of obtc scam.
GLOBFONE PROJECT IS NOT SCAMSee LINK

Hi guys, I’ve just came across this thread on bitcointalk
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/globfone-scam-4985965 and honestly it broke my heart to see the good guy go down in a wreath of flames Sad Sad Sad
As knowing the story of how the two teams met, the Globfone project and OBTC (just a guy, not really a team, but well…that’s crypto for u. anyone with basic smart contract skills can call himself ‘a team’ behind any project nowadays. Just sad Angry
Now a little bit of history about Globfone ->
Anyway, plainly speaking the Globfone project
www.globfone.com was a failed project. An ambitious online free phone project kicked started many years ago to provide open free telephony services to the world especially the 3rd world folks and underprivileged (those who couldn’t afford telephone bills especially overcharged telephone services in their country).
The idea was to bypass these guys (network sharks) and grant everyone a right of access to others (…or something like that, even if the other person u’re reaching out to doesn’t have the globfone app installed), and keep this service running services by Google Ads and other forms of monetization. Very ambitious like I said xD, it worked for a while, but it failed woefully. It failed because the Ads weren’t just enough to make the goal economically feasible, or maybe it was the globfone APP traffic stat wasn’t sufficient for Google Advertising to pay off the Bulk Calls and Sms Provider the free online globfone phone project was using.
Anyway, it failed and the Globfone APP basically went into oblivion. Until, a remainder of the early team found another viable source of revenue early this year for an economic model that could pass, and that was a ‘crypto token economy’ like what Kin/Kik, Steem and so many other projects are trying to create.
It took a while, but when he made up his mind, he reached out to a lot of devs to hold an ICO with zero understanding of how crypto works or the huge undertaking for such an ambitious project for the transition into crypto. Some of these devs (i shld also include I and a couple of friends actually) where too busy with our own ongoing blockchain projects to give such an ambitious project the face of day. When I actually heard him tell me, he got finally got a dev to write him a token contract, I said well good for u pal. No worries.
Little did I know, he’d be linked to a scam. If he had told me the dev, was the starter of OBTC chain, I wld av told him that was no dev and that he shld run for the hills but our converse never got that far ‘cos we all know OBTC was a scam when it surfaced here on Bitcointalk. Was even surprise to notice the shitcoin on CMC, only to discover some brainless morons voted for it to go on Mercatox all for some free tokens.
According to his explanation of this new ‘partnership’ xD xD xD with the OBTC dev, the Philippine dude was gonna handle everything GFC, including website related crypto talk and team building. Rembr, his new dev was to be in charge of everything crypto talk, the coders and devs, as well as the smart contract. And ha, this whr thing’s went sour very fast.
1. The OBTC guy was in charge of the globfone crowdsale ico, and when Globfone heard it wasn’t doing so well the asked him what that was all about and he said nothing.
2. Globfone also read something about giving no one private keys but by then it was already too late to do something about the crowdsale fund since it was theirs to begin with, so they requested the OBTC dev also share the private keys with them. He blatantly said no, and that’s when this Globfone guy knew something was up. He was beginning to feel uneasy with this new partnership.
3. It was the OBTC guy who actually put up the false teams on the website (when asked about ‘his’ team by Glofone, he said his crypto was doing well on mercatox---it was then at 9gwei then, and even his website had no team. Rembr that?)
4. After refusing to handover the crowdsale private keys from the OBTC dev, Globfone knew they’d had a bad deal which led to the falling out and they had to redo the crowdsale. That action alone, or shall I say revelation that came to the Globfone guy, made the OBTC guy sour. Calling for blood, swearing heaven and earth, and claiming he would singlehandedly tank the project since he’s also a ‘powerful’ player in crypto space. Haha… Oh plss….
5. It was supposed to be designated the Globfone Token (GFT), but because of the new crowdsale is now branded GFC. The concept being a humanitarian project, the globfone guy made sure all previous investors got swapped GFC tokens, even when he didn’t see a dime of that 17 ether OBTC dev ran away with. Like I always say, FOLLOW the MONEY and it will reveal the truth. The money doesn’t lie so look it up on etherscan
https://etherscan.io/address/0xa29c2ff6e1d9be8460b4d48267189d1590e4484f (#comments too if you choose) you’ll see the OBTC dev guy never gave back the eth to the initial ico contributors. Shocked Seriously? no conscience? No shred of decency holding on to other people’s money? Angry
Anyway, the globfone ico completed recently with as little as 65 eth but personally at their own cost, Globfone chose to swap ALL OLD INVESTORS, but well that’s the sad cost of doing bad business for your first run.
Anyway, At least that 65 eth is theirs for development. If you want to check the ICO, you can visit the ICO page here:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.45309973 Caveat Of This Story: Don’t swallow everything you hear! Especially we need something to vet Devs with! Or a place on Bitcointalk, where honest devs can offer free services and they have karma points. Cos anyone can claim to be devs in crypto. It’s basically same as buying stocks off a fake broker Sad Sad Sad can happen to anyone.
Now Globfone being called a scam in reality makes this guy a double victim in this harsh world of crypto. With a little help from better projects, and a little advice from me as well Wink about this fix they are in, the globfone project is redoing everything. Including their whitepaper. I even told the dude to do a third round after this (call the former presale) ‘cos he doesn’t deserve the hand he was served but I doubt he’d do that. Especially the globfone Online phone project being a humanitarian one. Sadly, some devs will burn in hell Lips sealed
All the best in your projects out there. DYOR always. And stay safe. I’m out. Cool peace
