If anyone is wondering why I posted this here, and didnt go through the 5 post/4 hour routine is simply this: to give newcomers and people with not so much mining power to mine this coin before the large miners point a few mining farms at it. I understand that most people do not have $10,000+ mining rigs. This is also why I waited to mine until today.
I've made large profits on a lot of coins and just think its time to share the wealth - whether or not this coin is worth anything though is beyond me. It was worth the small effort.

cannot run wallet in server mode
did you make a .bat in your GLDcoin folder saying this : gldcoin-qt.exe -serverYou also first need to open the wallet and let it fully sync with the network. Then close it and doubleclick on the .bat file and a cmd will open and then the wallet. I believe you need to keep both open while solo mining

I actually think it's a good idea. These days if you have a 1x7950 and you start mining 2 minutes after launch you are already too late. You get nothing. The big rigs take over in seconds.
Then you hear about how the coins suck and all that.
IMO, newbs need a stepping stone and some kind of reward if people ever want the cryptos to gain traction. Not getting anything = people lose intrest. Most people already have a short attention span.
