Germany has decided its gold is safe in American hands.

fucking german pussies!

(I'm german, so I'm allowed, right?)

We will see if they are so "pussy" as you believe when they face France the next Fryday  Cheesy, my bets are for France so i hope you are right

looking for a trustable bitcoin-based sports book so I can put money where my mouth is. any suggestions? 2 years ago I used anonibet, but not sure they're even still around.

Check xbet.io
Decentralized betting using the counterparty protocol. Completely removes the trust requirement as the funds are escrowed by the protocol. It does require a wallet at counterwallet.co though (blockchain style wallet, so nothing stored on their servers)

Anonibet are still going.. in fact they are now a member of the BF - and if i remember correctly - they've recently won a prize from the BF for being the best BTC company through the world cup, or something like that.

Here's a link to coindesk: http://www.coindesk.com/anonibet-talks-bitcoin-foundation-membership-world-cup-contest/

Now I'm getting worried that these coins went *significantly* over market: https://twitter.com/BitcoinBreak/status/483698871802277889

While short-term bullish as all hell, don't we have a fungibility problem if these coins were indeed different....?

that was the point of my earlier post about Allaire.

although the winners will try to make that argument, the market is already arbitraging that away and in the long term will be able to see through the bullshit that somehow they are different.

we all know bitcoins can't be washed.

It would not surprise me if the coins sold from this auction have some sort of "numismatic" value added to it.
haha
What's next?  If a tx goes through a famous persons address it gains numismatic value with their signature?

Holy ...
The latest difficulty increase supersedes the total difficulty increase from January 2009 to March 2014 combined.

Network infrastructure is ready for the next boom.

When one looks at the Bitcoin network in these terms then you get all....

Hey Peter, do you have an updated version of this graph published anywhere?

That's it above.  I just re-ran the Mathematica code before I uploaded it.

I see that the market cap has now diverged from the brown curve (TXs per day excluding popular addresses); however, since the Metcalfe value is a lagging indicator, this is somewhat expected.
That's amazing, thanks!

Thats exponential then, the thing would be is that beneficial or sustainable even

I thought this was quite healthy, showing unique bitcoin addresses used in a day and highest is March
https://blockchain.info/charts/n-unique-addresses?showDataPoints=false×pan=2year&show_header=true&daysAverageString=7&scale=0&address=

Yes, and interestingly, the square of the number of unique bitcoin addresses used per day has historically tracked the market cap.
