Thinking too small. We can do better. Even without a blocksize increase, but we will get one anyway.

What people don't seem to realize is this debate is actually fueling the changes in dev culture and implementation monoculture that we need in order to be robust enough to meet the challenges that will assail Bitcoin when it is in the quintuple digits. Fee markets play a role, too, and perhaps even things like LN. Honey badger was like, "Grow to take on larger adoption? Sure but I want more: I also want laser eyes and telekinesis." This debate ensures we get not only the scheduled blocksize increase, but that we get it all.

Whatever Bitcoin needs to get to the next level of price, chaos will be created to show the way to the ladder that gets it there.

Looks we are at the start of Wave 3. The top should be around $126,000 USD/BTC. Not sure on time frame...maybe by 2018?

I'll put in my 3 year notice at work.  Grin

Better make it 5 so that it's after the next block reward halving, just incase.

imo, Greece should adopt Bitcoin.  can you imagine the #Bitcoin businesses that would fly their way as a result?

Hey, we already dinged it in 2013.  Which was crazy.

Now, wouldn't be so crazy.

The Blocksize debate turning into a religious war is... unfortunate.

But if we get Bitcoin to scale without destroying it in the process, we unlock > $10000 per coin.

Seems like no one is looking at the upside. Smiley

seriously, the only reason it has evolved that way is that Blockstream is fighting for it's life.  just look at the increasingly desperate comments from Adam all over Reddit and Twitter.

lifting the 1MB DoS artificial cap should be a no brainer.

I know correlation and causation combined with zerohedge = hyperbolae.

Still it's fun to see the stories coming out about Bitcoin and Grexarmageddon 'patent pending term'

Antpool back in defensive mode due to filled blocks.  tell me, what do we have core devs for again?:

Some devs only view Bitcoin as a digital gold and are fine with 1Mb blocks and $10 fees,  leting the rest of the world out for use their sidechains and top layers.

Bitcoin is turning in an altcoin if you take the white paper and Shatoshi words as reference.

you got that right.

look, i'm going to have to pull rank as the first to publicly convert from gold to Bitcoin.  they got it wrong.

Bitcoin will never become a digital gold until or unless BTC gets used regularly all across the world and goldbugs capitulate by selling off gold and stopping the vast majority of gold mining activity.

true statement.
