I'm not a professional but looking at the charts especially long term charts, it looks like we're due for a huge correction. My bet is we will see a sharp drop to $5k-$6k, just not sure if the whales will push it a few thousand higher before having their positions ready?

I just can't imagine why anyone would want to buy at this price.

And there we have it, a few hours later: new all-time highs.

Unless we close today's candle below yesterday's close, all the sellers and shorters from the last consolidation will start being squeezed. Given the parabolic shape of the trend, this could easily accelerate to $15k within the next week.

I'm looking for a bottom on the 1-hour pullback, and then I'm adding to my longs.

If you are a business owner will you really stay with a business where there is always something wrong?
They always say there is a correction that will happen?
What freaking correction?
Is that price wrong?
We will bs left here without companies accepting bitcoin if that is the case.
Dont believe what they say. Dont use their words if you dont know what it really means or if it is the truth or just created by someone.

Make your own research.

People asked why should we buy at $500? Then the price passed $1000. Then they asked why should we buy at $1500 then it passed $2000. No we shouldn't buy at $3000, and the bitcoin price passed $5k. Then, no way to break $10k and here are we +$11k.
Until now, I just can't imagine why anyone wouldn't buy at this price.
Hahaha. LOL. Very true, this is the reality of investment in bitcoin, we really don't know how far can go up the bitcoin price. We all wanted to have a great amount of bitcoin and now we already have $12k and as they say this will be the average price of bitcoin because they say it will rise up to $18k, and I think it would possibly true since I saw a fast rising price of bitcoin. Maybe a lot of investors are putting their money/capital in bitcoin, but we don't know what exactly will happen for the price. What if they just wanted to put their money to invest in bitcoin in a short term? Let's see how far can bitcoin goes.

I agree on this, they will surely spike it up for more increase on the price and then cashing it out, they are whales probably they know how to do business and manipulate things and now they found they can create Bitcoin Futures to easily manipulate the price of Bitcoin. It is up to us now how we can protect our Bitcoin and prevent for much losses in case the drop and correction will happen.

You realize that Bitcoin Futures won't be able to manipulate the price at all since its all cash settled right.

We'll see guys, we'll see. It won't go up much more before crashing to $5k-$6k and leveling out around $7k for awhile. If not, I'll eat my god damn hat.

I hope you like hat!! Bitcoin will never come close to touching $6k again. It's extremely unlikely to ever see 4 digits again.

I totally agree with you that we're due for a MAJOR correction and it'll probably happen sooner rather than later, but I don't think bitcoin will drop down nearly that far.  Maybe $8500 or so.  Even then I do believe that however bad the correction is, bitcoin will rebound and resume its robust growth.   Lots of people are starting to wake up to the bull market we're having, and they want in...and that'll light a full blown forest fire under bitcoin's buttocks.

Only if you look at the charts with the vision of a real trader, we all know that the crypto market is not the same as it is on the forex markets, stocks, or bonds, because bitcoin has a diferent way to create it's price (and i am talking about the other altcoins too)

Everytime that someone puts a little money in bitcoin, the price goes up at least for a few 0.0001 cents (which does not even exist)

And the price will keep going up because people is still investing, and nobody can stop that, are you the guy who is going to predict the word of " dont buy bitcoin" all around the world just like Jesus did?

I guess that you are not, so nobody is going to stop buying.

You are only looking at the other part of where bitcoin will go. Don't you even look at the way that bitcoin can go through all those predictions on the opposite way? There will be a chance that you are correct but it can happen during those times that all will do is to sell. But if this will not happen, it's either $15,000 , $20,000 or $40,000. Demand is getting higher now so that makes sense.

Why would people not want to buy at these prices when we're still in the early stages of Bitcoin? Buy at these prices to make a TON of money. Hell buy at $20k, $30k, $50k to make a lot of money! Buy at $100k to make more money than if you invested in stocks. Buy now if you're smart.

Because you dont want to buy at this price, it doesnt mean that there are others that doesnt want to buy.

I just can't imagine why anyone would want to buy at this price.

Shut up, you are a newbie, you clearly doesnt know how does it works.

Do you even know how does the demand/supply works in here? Maybe those who were buying a whole bitcoin with $120 a few years ago, are now buying 0.01, but they are still buying it.

Just remember this: There is always some people who are always going to buy what the other people is selling.

I may sound bearish at times by calling obvious corrections,  but I'd never short bitcoin. Take profit, yes. Hold fiat, yes. Wait for a dip, yes. Trade altcoins, yes. Short, no.

A lot of 'professional' short traders have been routed in the Bitcoin market place. If you are purely basing your views on the charts and ignoring the underlying potential for Bitcoin, you are making a mistake. The network effect, scarcity of bitcoins and FOMO might result in your capital getting wiped out.

Maybe, but some people are saying the peak is $14,000 before a crash and others say $18,000 before a crash. It’s hard to know when/if it will happen with so much conflicting predictions. I may just hold through whatever happens because I do believe that the price will eventually recover after a correction or crash. It will get back to where it is now and beyond that.

Short if you want to lose a bunch of money!

If you hadn't noticed, we already had the drop you speak of. It happened 4 weeks ago. Went from $7800 to $5500. That was the sharp drop to $5k-$6k you were looking for. We even had another drop after that to $8400. Next drop will probably be to about what the price is now: $11k-$12k.

There will be good opportunities to short every once in a while, heck there were two in november! You just gotta figure out the timing correctly. We just got out of a correction, You don't want to bother thinking about shorting until it goes to $15k, could be a solid shorting opportunity there for it to drop to $12k. So maybe a month from now.

Long term I think btc is always a good buy. I believe we'll see 50k one day. Its just short term, I think a lot of people are going to get burnt at this price. A correction is due, the question is just when. Taking a trading position either way right now would be a huge gamble. I'm just curious to see how the whales decide to move the price. We'll find out very soon, probably in the next day or so.

Price can go in both directions, its all about trend and currently price is bullish so it might get even higher from the current point but there is nothing or no-one that can predict the possible market move.

Whales will only short/dump when they will see some correction on its way or huge profit taking...

There will be multiple short-time corrections for sure, bitcoin has done it many times. But for the long term we are due to revolutionary changes in the financial industries, that bitcoin brings to the world. And during that time bitcoin price can only rise.
