This means that bitcoin price will be driven by bubbles. So there will be cycles like in capitalism but these will occur more frequently and will create wealth instead of poverty.

Citi provided a report on the current low prices of bitcoin

http://www.coindesk.com/citi-miners-merchants-keeping-bitcoin-prices-check/

I think their observations are in general accurate.

Probably another round of problems in banking sector across the board will bring bitcoin to higher price levels. Maybe some October surprise...?

These are legitimate rumours Wink E-bay is not denying them in public anyway.

"legitimate rumours" -- Isn't that an oxymoron?

These are legimate, well founded and the closest to truth rumours that have ever been in circulation.

Do not call me oxy moron, I have no sense of humor.

You really don't know what oxymoron means? An oxymoron (plural oxymora or oxymorons) is a figure of speech that juxtaposes elements that appear to be contradictory. Oxymora appear in a variety of contexts, including inadvertent errors (such as "ground pilot") and literary oxymorons crafted to reveal a paradox.

Yep. Every day new companies accepting BTC.
I will be good if  really big companies also start accepting BTC.
Then price will raise.
No, more companies acceptance means people spending bitcoins (== selling them == selling pressure == exchange rate going down)
Long term you're right.

eBay needs to go away to leave room for legitimate marketplaces. Amazon needs to accept Bitcoin, but they said no for now...

The fact is these are merely rumours, rumours that have been present for a very long time. Ebay's CEO has never given definitive proof that his company is on the verge of accepting cryptocurrencies and furthermore his partnership with PP is the real stumbling block.

One issue is that PP really fits EBay's needs. I've been a long-time power seller on ebay and people do screw you over all the time. Sellers of products are at risk, which is why PP being reversible is a good thing. Bitcoin would be a nightmare with ebay in my opinion.

It's not enough for companies to accept bitcoin, although it is a positive sign. We need reasons for people to buy bitcoin just to use it, rather than just those of us with it spending what we already have. At the moment the hassle and risk involved means most people are better off just using CC. As someone who purchases from overseas a lot, and consistently gets screwed on the currency conversion, international transactions makes the most sense for BTC. Hopefully retailers will also start offering discounts to BTC purchases as well.

I suppose they will operate like an escrow service. They could already be eligible to pass the regulatory requirements to operate as an exchange too. I would tend to trust them to do it with better security than a lot of the players we have seen (and cringed at)

Not a fan of paypal, but they know how to operate! I have to give them that!

Good news indeed (if realized)
