another funny way is memorize your entire private key and teach your parrot to do the same, just in case you lose your memory or something, if he can do it

a bit dangerous but it would be fun enough to try with a little amount first  Cheesy

I'm sure you'll forget your private key within few seconds Tongue
I better memorize where i keep my paper wallet

But, if you really can memorize your private key, it would be best way to keep your bitcoin secure Grin

your wallet as you hide all your money there

If you loose your real money you lose also your bitcoins.
This is not recommended, the best way it to make multiple backups.
And store each of them in separate safe box or save place/environment.

If you can get a wallet address that is really easy to remember, it would be great!

the best option is to create an encrypted offline wallet on a USB disk using linux. that way nobody can crack it even if they can access the USB disk itself.
but for paper, the safest place is either a safe at your house or a deposit box in the bank.

p.s. if a burglar knows what bitcoin is or recognizes the paper wallet, he can read this thread to know where to look for it Smiley

Bank locker is the most logical place to hide it. Even in case you lose your memory it should make sense to you.

Made it like a foot pad and put it inside your shoe.

Normally people won't even touch it. Smiley

I don't suggest this.  If your like me at certain points family goes through some old clothes/shoes and donate it.   If you have a family they might end in a donation like this.

An if your talking about the shoes your wearing not old pair that will be a pain to.  Imagine each time you used a different shoe having to move the paper.  And the worst thing is when your shoes no security like a safe or something good for security.

Home safe or bank deposit box really are one of the best options just a pain.  So use it for the large amounts.  As we are not really talking about hot wallet spending money.

But I told you that home safe is only viable if you live in a house, if you live in an apartment like me, especially on the 8th floor (hard to move the safe up, and we dont have lift), not very good.

Also it might raise suspicion of neightbors, what ever you hide in that safe, since most people here are poor, and if you are somehow rich they automatically label you as if you were some criminal or something.

Neighbors suck, sorry. If I live in a house, then its no problem, but then the risk of burglary is even higher, as a burglar can rob a house easier than an apartment.

put one copy in a safe and one in another secure location and have a backup plan that someone can get the password in case you are incapacitated, die or forget it

TRASH CAN!

Put your paper wallet in an envelope, seal it, and make it laminated to not corrode and get dissolved.

Put some filthy rotten food in a trash can and put your envelope in there too.

Guaranteed no burglar will search there! Cheesy

But if someone wants to make you a surprise while cleaning your house
Then this would be the worst case but having more than 1-2 backups is highly recommended.
I would say putting the paper wallet under the grass(undergroud) in front of your house would be perfect.

Best place is your locker or safe beileve it or not these are best places or try to hide in bank.
Good idea! Unfortunately, OP have to pay some interest/rent for the bank locker Shocked
IMO, there's nothing much an efficient locker than your/human brain, just remember your btc address and corresponding private key!

Problem with this is one point of failure.  Say you could perfectly remember your private key's (yes multiple is what I suggest instead of one big one).

Lets say you are hit by a bus.   Now the only person who knew the keys is gone.   I like bank deposit box as family will get it if that bus situation happens.  (And it is very unlikely but still most I think would want family to have access to it instead of it becoming abandon)

You can put it in your will, which become effectively the same as storing an encrypted usb + paper with your priv key in a safety box, but it seem people here like to say "you can't trust the government so you can't use safety deposit boxes!".

Hence my idea of implanting the data in a silicon capsule between your toe or something.

In a "normal" world from our perspective, lets go with an encrypted USB drive/paper backup in a couples of safety box for redundancy. That way your peers can access it if you get hit by a bus.

Implant is just not practical.   Truth is it does very by country on how secure safty deposit boxes.  If you live in a country that banks might fail or goverment might seize yes it could be a bad spot.  I am in US so feel pretty secure.

As far as leaving it in will that is not a great thing either.  Some lawyer somewhere having a copy of your private key just does not make sense in practice.   Unless you are saying will just say's BTC is in safty deposit or something, but then it's really not doing a whole lot.
