Earning merits is not an easy task, and deciding which post will get merits is also not an easy task. Replying to all the topics is not the ambition of this forum but to help users Who need them the most is the main target for every good user. If you want to earn merit points then try to help someone not with just to post but with something really useful like a very important information or some reference. Making bigger post is not always the good option.

Just because a post is 500 characters doesn't mean it's not a piece of shit, because there are plenty of them that are far longer--and conversely there are one liners that make me laugh until I'm shooting liquid out through my nose.

OP's English isn't good, so frankly I question his ability to judge a good post unless it's on a local board. I'd challenge him to give some examples of quality unmerited posts.

Merit system is highly unfavorable particularly to the new members for growing in the ranks but concept of "Merit" will attract crowd to the platform like steemit where power of liking good content is in the hands of all I think.
