Depends on newbie interest I think!

But top of the list, beginners and help section is a must. But for technical discussion pertaining to bitcoin there are so many branches of section to choose from. You can rarely see newbies on these serious section but there are some who are really taking time to learn. If the newbies only concern is to get merit to rank up, then they will be having hard time to collect it unless they are really a good poster.

Ive noticed on development and technical discussion, a lot of newbies gained merits, and Im not shocked cause they are really inquiring on what is they experienced. For some newbies goal to earn money, then I advise them to change their course cause this is a place of discussion not a job hunting center.

A newbie who is a developer for example will like to start in the Bitcoin & technical discussion section, and I don't think anyone can suggest that board for a newbie, because of the technicalities and Bitcoin knowledge users need to join in there, but a dev (though newbie) will have that knowledge, so I'm for the notion that "any board is okay" as long as it synchronizes with the knowledge you have.

Any board is fine imo, as long as you read the pinned thread first. Obviously beginners & help is meant for beginners, so that should be a place to go even though nowadays there are a lot of scam warnings that fits more into off-topic here. But overall the pinned threads are great for beginners.

Op I suggestion that all newbies suppose to penetrate to all the board to study the method of posts and know how to create  nice topic, but the problem is that going into different board will enable newbies to know suitable boards them can be able to respond or comment on topic.
All these are avenue for beginners to master the system without with looking for external help.
So I recapitulate by saying that newbies are to comment in all boards in order to comprehend the rudiments of the forum.

I agree on those three threads you mentioned, they are really good starter pack for beginners. But I think there's nothing wrong if newbies go to other boards as well simply because I understand that all of them got different interests. We cannot suppress them if they want to explore further. So for me, there's nothing wrong of going into Alt Discussion despite of its bad reputation or even in the Off Topic section since it can be a place for unwinding if you are already tired of topics about crypto (but as much as possible go to Serious Discussion instead). For me there's no such thing as bad boards, every boards got their own essence. We just all should post responsibly to maintain everything orderly Smiley.

All of the boards or sections of this forum are all important and can benefit us as a cryptocurrency user. We have different fields here that will help us to understand and gain knowledge about anything related to cryptocurrency and blockchain.
1. Beginners & Help - it will help us to understand more the rules of that forum and the environment we have here. You can also use it to acquire basic knowledge about cryptocurrency. You can also use it to ask things related to cryptocurrency.
2. Gambling section - It talks about any information or discussion about gambling, it can be sports, gambling games, and any information that we can have related to gambling.
3. Off-Topic - any good information or anything that can be interesting for many bitcoiners. You may see here useful information that is not related to cryptocurrency.

Some of the sections have a summary of what can you see upon clicking it. All are useful, it's better if we explore not only one section of this forum. If we want to gain more knowledge then we should do this way.

I'd recommend these boards to beginners:

1. Bitcoin Discussion - this is a general Bitcoin board, it's one of the most active boards and you can find all sorts of posts - news, articles, discussions, etc. Be a bit careful, because it sometimes gets spam posts that promote scams, and sometimes there's shilling going on.

2. Economics - discussions about economy and Bitcoin's relation to it. Can be quite educating sometimes.

3. Press - latest big hits, the board has some moderation so shitty articles get deleted, so the news that get posted are actually important.

What you stated on OP is true, those are the most recommended sections for newbies. The 3 sections you stated on OP provide the basic information about this forum and crypto. However, newbies must know all the sections in this forum, so they know this forum as a whole. Anyway, we cannot measure a person's knowledge and experience about crypto based on the status of his account "newbie" only. Some newbie accounts (newbie ranks) may have better knowledge than highers accounts. Also, Some newbies may have broader specialized knowledge such as knowledge of trading or mining. I have seen in various discussions that the newbies can explain specific information better than higher ranks. So, for newbies who have good knowledge in a specific knowledge like that, may prefer to be active in the sections providing more discussions about it.

Imo, I thinks all boards are best for newbies but they should visit the one you mentioned often. Meta is a prerequisite and a necessity after joining the forum, it contains information that will guide newbies in a way they will not be banned. The beginners and help really helps newbies to ask newbie-like questions. There are some you do not mention as well.

1. Bitcoin technical support
Very important for newbies or people that just register account on Bitcointalk but having issues with their bitcoin wallet, I have seen many new users using it to also ask question. I noticed the questions asked on the board are mostly replied by legendary members, this makes the board unique.

2. Bitcointalk discussion
This board too is good for newbies as it contian latest trends about bitcoin itself, I liked visiting it when I was a newbie and I gained so much from the board.

3. Bitcoin Speculation
To speculate about the latest price of bitcoin.

4. Others
For leisure, the forum really make good sense too, it is good to also visit economy, politics and society, serious discussions and many other boards. Many newbies find such boards interesting.
Yes, visiting other sections is not limited to newbie for they are too important. However, Beginners and help & meta should be the first stop for them to set things up before involving in technical discussions or bitcoin discussion. If non-english the user can visit local boards to open up discussions.  Once set, with the forum rules and regulations then it is up to the newbie if he wanted to try read & comprehend information that are in other sections as well. As long as he will be inform especially the fraud and scam activities then newbie will less likely to be get scam.

Besides newbie could not take all the boards and sections at once so slowly in phase or manner by doing so one can learn and the rest will be easy.

Indeed those are the main sections that can be navigated with else for better understanding of the forum by Newbies especially the beginners and help section as it clearly states. It's the best place to get your first education as a Newbie, that is not to say other sections are not as valuable but, everything is about a step at a time and you surely should visit those sections and read more often what is posted there to get a better thread.
The forum has been designed in a way that, every aspect of Bitcoin and alternate cryptocurrency is best explained at a particular section but, to feature in each section requires a better understanding of what is been done at that section hence, it's best you pay attention to researching the way each section operates before throwing in your ideas.

Here: Beginners & Help.

Fortunately if newbies know what they find for at beginnings and Newbies are free to choose the journey they will go they can choose boards that they like the most.

Bitcoin Technical Support is a good one to get supports from Bitcoin community.

I would warn them to keep distance from Bounties that can harm their discoveries on the forum.
The rate at which high rank member discouraged low rank members from bounty is good for newbie, you are forced to write good line comments response which may be cumbersome. Making 15 post a week isn't easy task.

One thing to consider is that, regardless of the board, Newbies should be wary of the responses he may find around, until he learns to distinguish what is what, and who’s criteria he can (more often than not) trust. What I mean by this is that, whatever board you’re in, there are thousands and thousands of posts, some of which are accurate, some halfway there made as a best effort by someone, and some that are wrong or misleading. Information is often not linear, and you need to read more than one thread on a given topic, and multiple posts, in order to get a general composition. OPs are not always correct, and should not be taken verbatim when asserting information, making reading through the rest of the thread important.

Learning the ropes of reading through threads is part of the learning curve, and that comes along with time.

I think we used to call them pinned before sticky, not sure when it changed.

And those boards are a good recommendation. As newbies you could also try to skim boards like tech support, development and technical discussion and maybe bitcoin discussion/economics too as if the threads are related to bitcoin they might offer interesting new information. But don't invest in something anyone suggests without doing good research on it.

The forum has offered some sections and boards that will suit to our needs generally for all users. However in my point of view that newbie should be aware and should often visit sections that are suited to acquire knowledge and learnings in this forum. I guess the best sections for newbies are as follows,

1. Begginers and help section - This should be the first stop of the newcomers to welcome them in this forum. One simple tips they can get here is how to make a thread for this is one way they can ask the questions about cryptocurrency or any related topics. Most of the users here are willing to help. Just be careful on some users that has good offers for usually it is a bait for fraud activities. Never trust anyone especially when it talks about funds.

2. Meta section - In relation to how a certain user must be doing things around familiarizing the forum rules and regulations. The post were being pinned above all threads and it was being term as sticky threads. I do not know why it so called sticky threads but those threads are pinned above all threads. All pinned post in this section must be read and understand so as to avoid getting conflict with the account in the future like getting ban for copy and pasting (plagiarism).

This section also is the place were high rank users often visit to assess the forum situation and to give feedbacks. They sure give a lot of help to forum moderators.

3. Local Boards - below were the local boards. Try to see if your place or country has local board on it. If you are Non English speaking then you can  freely do use your native language in your local boards.

I guess for me this 3 section works best for new comers but other sections were not limited to them for they still can visit and can interact in the discussions. Again the important thing here is that newbie should know how to start a thread. Just remember to take all things slowly. Learn at your own phase in cryptocurrency and never forget to use the search button if you wanted to seek for any threads that might help you to learn more. Learning in cryptocurrency is for free but only to those who interested to learn. There are books somehow being published but it is not available to all like here in our place. There are no formal education for this and it will be confusing to learn at first. However, it will be easier for you to learn it later on.

Cryptocurrency is one of the best technology so far that can rid of extra expenses from the third party services like in those banks. It may not be perfect now and had some flaws but cryptocurrency is still in developing stage. This forum serves best to learning in cryptocurrency especially in technical aspects so if it happens that you are already here then congratulations you are in the right forum.

What do you think?
