Stay calm and relax we will get there soon. Patience is always the key, if you believe in Btc then definitely you should hold it no matter what will happen in the next few months, also timing is everything so we have to watch closely every major movement.

For the past four years we have witnessed a massive drop starting from last week of December when it comes to the price of bitcoin but this year it was not the same case, does that mean that we have good days ahead? because even during 2017 bull run it started in November and lasted till the beginning of 4th-week of December then the price started to drop.

I think this is a good sign for bitcoin.
Not really that could a kind of indication but who knows as well. The possibilities are still there.
For the fact that we are riding just like a roller coaster, it all has a chance and the history may repeat itself. Only we give trust and just be hopeful.
Either we run for another bullish market or not, that all it be like...and have to accept it.

today prices fall from 7250 usd to around 7000 usd . i think the market need some small time for recover . i hope bitcoin will have some strong pump because prices suffer a lot since start of bakkt and why not bakkt will help prices this time by pumping prices
The price even fell lower to $6900+ should we say it is as result of New year? you made a valid point here, the price might decline further before it can recover and start a bullish trend, this is exactly what played out last year the same scenario is repeating itself again, in a long term the price would be bullish.

good sign for what ?
the only reason why halving its really worth for waiting is just because a simple calculating. demand increase or even stable demand will make price go raising since block reward will be cut half.
its just matemathic theory.
its like prediction, not a sign.
so far i dont see any good sign, even now btc drop under 7k .

All the other years have always been a good year for Bitcoin, just that people like to panic alot when there is price dip.
They believe that price should continue pumping without dipping. If it happens, Bitcoin future will become very uncertain as continuous price without correction is very unhealthy. Nevertheless, I am looking at the positive side of things.

Yes, we do have good days ahead of us but OP was mistaking when he said the market status is positively different to December market and the last time i checked the market experience even more dump in price than last year December market. With that been said, we can not use the year 2017 market to judge this year market but we do have a better days ahead.

~snip~

It is a great sign for Bitcoin, it should be remembered that from 2014 to 2017 the accumulation stage developed, now after having passed through a rapid distribution stage in 2018, the accumulation stage began again, at this moment it is difficult to determine what can it may be happening, maybe the market is in Re-Accumulation mode, or accumulation, maybe the upward trend stage starts again, what is really definitive is that the price will increase much more than $ 20k, that is reason enough to be motivated in the market and that the investment in Bitcoin is safe.

Doesn't mean anything. Just a confirmation that past patterns don't necessarily repeat themselves, nor do the failure of a pattern point to the reversal of trends from the past.

In fact, I'd probably have been happier with a further drop off, cause that would have meant an annual low by March, as in 2019, and then we could look forward to counting the new price low in 2021 -- based on higher lows every year. As it stands now, I can't tell where we're going.

A good sign of the market is that there are more campiagns today that pays BTC. I guess this will bring more volume to the market and will give confidence to the new investors of crypto. Not for long the people who were just hearing BTC on social media sites are going to try investing in crypto for they will be hearing governments are also trying to release digital currencies.
Nah I don't know why campaigns are slowly gone these days but I don't think this will be considered as a sign that the crypto market is in good a mood. The best sign that I want to see is having more investors joining to invest in Bitcoin and that will surely boost the market. While other platforms are trying to make their own cryptocurrency this might divide the investors IMO.

I would rather see it as a very bad sign due to low interest of trying to find new users. But everything is pretty calm:

- no forks
- no airdrops
- no new technology for altcoins
- no hysteria on bitcointalk Wink

Hibernation mode until spring I guess.
I don't think people will have too much patient to extend or to wait for that long? This is the reason why Bitcoin is considered to be more risky than fiat because of its volatility. Hibernation mode will not work in Bitcoin IMO. Tongue

I hope everyone should have a kind of attitude like you when waiting for something to happen in the future but, nope, they're not like that mostly. Cheesy

A similar period for the rise in the price of bitcoin has already been skipped. Indeed, in 2017, it grew until December seventeenth. Therefore, there is no reason to rejoice yet. Traditionally, in the first months of the year, there is a lull in the cryptocurrency market, even with a slight drop in price. Most likely, market growth will be in the spring. In the past 2019, Bitcoin began price growth from April 1. The same can happen this year, because a halving of payment for a new block of bitcoin should occur in May. Waiting for spring.

If your expectations fulfilled everyone in the cryptocurrency space who purely behind this earning will get the help for sure. I personally expecting the altcoins market to boom in the price chart.
If the value doesn't grow also we can utilise the situation and buy some coins with in sometime.

I don't want to go on around and just say that this can be a good year for Bitcoin because we might be seeing a trap in being optimistic that the price may go up once the year started, Let's just wait for further movement just to be sure in my opinion, we can not let our emotion get by every time the year ends, let's just let Bitcoin sits this first and have a break from speculating any furthermore, and in my opinion, let's just all wait for the halving to come if it's going to solve the bear market or just worsen it up.

If you think that's a good sign, so be it. Trust your own view if you think your basis does make sense.

But always remember that:
-past performance can't guarantee future results
-be ready for unexpected events that might disappoint you
-expectations, desired or basically what you want to happen on BTC might take several years in the making

My suggestion, don't think too much. Just continue to accumulate BTC as much as you can if possible.

Exactly where are you getting your data from? Past four years means 2016, we literally had an insane increase in 2017 that peaked in December with all time high price, that was literally just 2 years ago, 2017 December to 2018 December is one year, December 2018 to December 2019 is second year, so we are just 25 months away from the biggest price we have ever seen in bitcoin.

However, even with avoiding that and considering the topic as "since the all time high we have been dropping" that stopped in April so we could potentially say that early 2018 wasn't that bad, I mean it started falling but late 2017 was when it increased so lets take it as a whole bad year, then April is the fourth month, so we literally had only 16 months that was bad in bitcoin and then for the past 8-9 months it has been great so we didn't had the drought people assume we did.

Not really a good sign, nor is it a bad one. Is just eh, pretty normal I'd say. Bitcoin may rise or fall, nothing new there, it is Bitcoin after all. You ca't really base signs off past performances of BTC, especially since the last 4 years could be said to be a regulation period of BTC on its bubble of 2017. Could even be said that it actually just finished by the start of 2019, and only the entire year of 2019 was the progress or the growth of Bitcoin that actually contained foundation and is stabilized unlike in the past 3 years.

It might be good but like what we've been saying about the attitude of bitcoin, this isn't an easy thing to predict and the usual term that we use to say with that is that it's unpredictable. And if we compare it with the 2017 bull run, this time it wasn't like that. We've seen that bitcoin isn't good at the end of 2019 and we're more dropping instead of pumping. We can't assure that the good days base on your satisfaction but we'll have it just like the usual days and we're hoping that it will be better than last year.
Could be though. Could be not. Generally it should cause it decreasing the constant supply being produced means that demand would now rise higher compared to the past. Though could actually have no effect at all, but a negative one? I don't suppose so.
Indeed. There are really no any good signs that i see recently because the movement of the price of bitcoin seems normal to me, and it doesn't make any unpredictable movement recently, that is why i am still hoping that notcoin woyld really increase it's price so i could earn a good profit this year.

I dont think you can year over year expect the same exact trends based on months.  Ypu cant say its bullish or bearish to say that something did or didnt happen exactly like it did in the past.  I see this trend a lot and people focusing on times of the year to buy or sell.  That is a losing strategy as it is not a direct relation between the 2.  Just mere coincidences.
