In the long run 200 USD will be like small change compared to what bitcoin will become.

Buy now, you'll probably treble your money at least in 18 months.

What if you are all about that base?  Seriously, BTC has network effects on its side.  It has the best market penetration of all crypto-currencies.  I am sure those living in Cypress would have appreciated a sneak-peak in to the future before their money was confiscated out of their bank account.  The advice I hear of the most is to invest a couple of a percent of your savings into bitcoin.

Definitely a good time to invest op. I only came across bitcoin in January. Since then I've dropped £13k, which is just under 75% of my life savings. Zero regrets so far. Yes the price has dropped but really, what are the chances of just lucking out and investing at the bottom of the market? Even if the price drops to $50 I will still be able to tell myself I got in at about a quarter of the 2013 high. I would rather miss the bottom of the market then miss the next bubble.

The fundamentals are so good, the upside is so enormous, get involved!

Also, I don't understand why there aren't more posts like yours. I would have thought there are literally tens of thousands of people finding out about bitcoin every day, but if this is the case then why isn't the forum flooded with these posts?

Some times people tend to wait too long for the right price and lose out on the opportunity of buying at what looks like the bottom.

Should I buy now or will it drop even lower next week? I might increase my holdings to around 2 BTC! So rich...

Maybe buy a little every week over the next 6 months.

In summary, I have no idea. Only dabble in Bitcoin if you can handle the rollercoaster Smiley

Yes and yes. I'm currently doing something like the first. It's been working well so far.

It is always a good time to buy small amounts of btc. Not too much you can't afford to loose. Price can go lower, no one knows where is the bottom. When bitcoin recovers, you wish you had bought more now.

From the previous trends it has only been clear that after almost every fall there is a rise. But not if say it drops from 600 to 200 . Right now it dropped to the lowest it can probably go to , I expect the same for this time.

i bought some coins yesterday because i don't think it will drop below $200 so from that view it's a good investment for me. and if it goes below $200 i will buy some more.

I know this is your standard noob question but being new to bitcoin/cryptocurrency i thought it would be worth asking. With the price down to ~$200 is now the time to be buying them? Ive read some of the horror stories of people losing 30k etc and that's more than a lifetime of savings which if i had couldn't even comprehend losing. At the moment ive bought my first btc but am now worried of a potential crash.

I know you shouldnt risk what you cant afford to lose but you have to take some risks i suppose.

Im guessing this may be a question better asked to a crystal ball?

thanks and apologies if this gets asked everyday.

I think we'll go a little bit below 150$ before rebounding (it might take a few weeks or even a month though) and I'll buy at ~150$ Smiley
Well it's speculation thread isn't it Tongue

Of course none of us knows the future, but the fundamentals are still sound, adoption is up, lots of projects have been recently started. All good news. However supply is also way high right now. The market is awash with stolen coins, government auctions, mega-super mines. It has kept the price reasonable. As the extra coins work through the market and the supply is halved next year we should see increases.  Assuming the demand remains the same or higher.

Ive got a bitcoin price tracker on my phone now so i can worry all day by watching the price drop. knowing my luck i will buy them and the price will drop, Just having my 1 btc feels like a good start but cant see me gaining to much on that. Hopefully more in the future Smiley

If I had money that I could invest and didn't if I lost in the worst scenario, I would invest it right now on bitcoin. Bitcoin is an important tool for many services and applications and will be a really important tool in the future. So I would suggest you to invest in this period since the bitcoin price is falling and will probably fall in the following days. But don't forget, don't invest if you can't afford to lose it all. Good luck with the investment  Smiley !

Im guessing this may be a question better asked to a crystal ball?

yes, better ask the crystal ball Wink

If you buy, the price will probably go down, and bears will be screaming they warned you not to.

If you don't, it'll probably go up and the bulls will be screaming generally.

Maybe buy a little every week over the next 6 months.

With current sentiment I might try waiting for a long period of stability followed by some gentle uptrend. (Then again, what we have currently may be what passes as stability around here). In the long term, a lot of people seem to think Bitcoin has a bright future. The price can go higher, but it's not impossible it'll go via $10 first Grin

In summary, I have no idea. Only dabble in Bitcoin if you can handle the rollercoaster Smiley

If I had the funds, I would rack up as much bitcoins as I could. Bitcoin is still at an infant stage, more and more companies and individuals will be slowly attracted towards the decentralised currency. Which means things can only get better henceforth
