First Youtube removes all crypto related videos and now Google removes Metamask.
It won't be too late until google starts removing crypto related things from all of it's products.
Looks like google has an eye on crypto.

It's mind boggling really why they have done this.
But honestly, shouldn't be too surprising given the fact that historically, google's attitude towards these types of issues aren't that positive. When you look at the ad bans against crypto you sort of realize that google doesn't have the most positive outlook for cryptos whatsoever.
They could be banning so many faucets and scam apps out there on their play store right now, but no. They choose to ban something that is completely innocent instead.

This is the affect of too many scam project that use ethereum platform . Google do his move to reduce the victim of too many scam project right now. For me this is good but it will give negative affect in the market of ETH and expect decrease of the price that will happen any time soon.
this is indeed negative news which in my opinion is quite surprising. or too much if Google does that. Does Google not see the potential of the crypto market in the future? like Facebook which once blocked crypto advertising. and finally, they want and are interested in making their crypto. this should not have happened to ethereum. Oops, I do think that Google has every reason to take such decision since it is based on Google's financial policy and not security issue. There are tons of other wallets to get dirty with but I would recommend switching to atomic wallet if anyone looking to download one. Perhaps, atomicwallet is a multi-asset non-custodian wallet serving many purpose and offering decentralized staking service, among others is the decentralized exchanged via atomic wallet functionality. Search through Google Play store for it or take a trip to https://atomicwallet.io

Google is showing signs of authoritarian decisions of late. Youtube was involved in removing crypto-related videos and now Google Playstore is doing its part in blocking another crypto-related app. This is going to be bad for crypto but worse for them. They seem to show that they do not like cryptocurrency at all. Google is replaceable; they need to realize that. They will certainly be replaced soon.
Google's decision must be questioned because many people who use the application and also crypto users mostly use Google access like me. if this continues then access to use crypto will be increasingly difficult, this policy is actually disturbing and needs to be asked for clearer reasonsI don't think it's worth enough to trust their decisions, because this could be some bad moves for other group who spreads FUD. Hopefully there's something that could support the idea before it's too late, most users like me was very much affected. This fears my asset being enlisted with google browser add on, it might be not safe nowadays.
Google has been a leading business for so many years. It started as just an alternative but then it successfully made it to the top. There must be something that caused Google to become very successful like they are now. For that reason, they could somehow be trusted. However, there are policies that tend to be biased against new technologies such as the ones they stated as the reasons for blocking MetaMask. I cannot see any valid reason for doing so. They need to be open for rising technologies as they themselves was once a rising star also.

It's not really a big deal since we can still access metamask on various browsers including Google Chrome. This shouldn't stir up any negativity, they already stated their reason for the ban. On PC I still access metamask on Chrome and brave, while on mobile I access it on Firefox.
It's their right to make opinions if they are seeing negative things with this apps. Like you, we should move forward since it's only being ba need from Google app store but with desktop it's still working normally. People who are using metamask and eth wallet from apps store can still proceed and use the desktop and continue enjoying the service of this wallets.

I think google base companies like youtube or google playstore have been targeting crypto, because of youtube has been removed hundreds of videos related crypto without any notices and now google playstore banned one of best ETH wallet metamask really we do not know what is the reason behind it to take an action like that from google. maybe the Google artificial intelligence system think crypto is not safe?

I think Google is not entirely against cryptocurrency, more like they're making a safe steps by doing thing this. And based on the article, Google claiming metamask due to violation of google's financial services policies. Even the problem with youtube which was deleting crypto related videos, it was because of mistake on their part.
I don't know if this a sign of Google showing something against cryptocurrenty or not, but if it does proven that metamask really did broke their policies, nothing could be done though.

This is ridiculous.
Metamask is one of the most useful extensions out there, and its whole purpose is to protect consumers from scams and all. I'm not sure what other features the app version has ommitted or included but I doubt that it's anything malicious at all.
Clearly a targeted attack against crypto IMHO. Not cool.

It seems that little by little many are allergic to crypto. I don't know this is a strategy for them to drop the market price and buy it at lower prices or indeed they are being careful of crypto.
Yes, I think this is not really influential. Want to get listed in Google or not, they can still put their application on their own web. No need to bother with this.

These issues might continue to expand and will cause some implications on some people of this industry. But as long as we can still use metamask in Chrome and other browsers, it could still thrive. Though the removal of the app seems to be a cocky move for me. If somehow even the plugins will be affected of these issues, other browsers might follow or remain the same, causing another rivalry in the browser preferences.

Maybe the ban on YouTube is because of the rampant fraud or ponzi schemes that are carried out by crypto YouTubers so that YouTube forbids it.
It was a wrong call for them and they've admitted it already.This kind of removal of certain apps on Google shows how powerful they could be and stop something that starts to ripen. I think the same act as facebook did for removing those crypto related ads and now they've turned into it and allowed it again because they'll be having the Libra project so this could be the same as that and google is setting things a little by little.

The MetaMask team took to Twitter on Dec. 26, where they announced that Google had suspended MetaMask’s android client from Google Play’s app store, claiming MetaMask was in violation of Google’s financial services policies.

Not sure why this is happening all of a sudden. I have heard that Youtube is removing videos related to ICOs and other crypto projects. YouTube is also owned by google and I guess all these are connected and has something to do with them going against crypto currencies. At least they know why they got removed from play store. I guess google updated their playstore terms of service and meta mask ended up breaking google plays financial service policy. Hope everything gets resolved soon.
