Clearly it has taken a chunk out of the price of all the cryptos which allows the big boys to get in and invest at a lower price, it's a sad world we live in when they have the ability to do that with one action...

Interesting article.

I don't like the fact is buying it up behind the scenes and then publicly slamming it so the average person thinks it's is bad. Google might be in control right now, but they are a little frightened by decentralization and are trying to control it in the early stages.

I think ICO will still flourish and they will just come up with new ways, bounties will have increased value now as well. Although it is obvious that the Google announcement pushed down the price, but it will recover.

This may affect the crypto a little bit not but not exactly hurt as to lead its downfall. There are already so many supporters in cryptocurrency and there are so many ways to advertise. If say bitcointalk bans crytocurrency ads (which I dont think will ever happen), then it might be a problem.

Recently I came across this article on CCN, what do you think about Crowdholding's thoughts about the recent Google Ads ban on crypto?

https://www.ccn.com/google-bans-cryptocurrency-ads-will-lead-downfall/

Wishful thinking? or does it have some validity?
This has been discussing in so many threads. It may better stop recurring this news again anytime. The holders are still believing in the future of crypto. oh man, the internet is not only google. It may true if the google is the biggest company in the internet innovation but it doesn't mean if everything depended on the google itself. There is another alternative way to promote the crypto.

But another side google was doing it to prevent scam project.

It may affect but not much,if you remember the news about banning of ico's on fb ,did it happened? Most news something like that is just a fudd to make the market down. But cryptoworld is too wide enough ,they can't easily break it down

If its the downfall of ICOs, of course it will affect greatly on the response to ICOs. I have known about several ICOs not by visiting the forum alone but from apps downloaded from Google, websites visited where ads are placed and when you see these ads in all places, you are forced to even take the risk to check it out. You can then decide whether you want to be part of it or not. But with this new scenario, the chance or opportunity to check it out is being eroded.

On the impact on Google, I don't see much as we don't have access to their records to be sure the amount that ICOs ads is contributing to their total revenue and the impact it will take with this their decision to stop ICO ads. Hopefully, sanity can return to the market and they can start reconsidering all of their decisions against crypto in general.

How can explain this by law? They cant just stop advertising on one theme. I saw few times advertising darkside site on youtube Grin Who looking on their banners at all? I thought most people have something like Adblock on their browsers or just flipping through advertising.

The decision will start from june so i don't think it will affect crypto too much, projects simply have to search for another way to advertise their project and bounty will be more important for ico to spread the words. This won't be their downfall as they only prevent people from getting scammed by scam ico and blame it onto them.

I think this news will not significantly affect the price of the currency. But this will definitely slow down the development of the crypto currency because less money will flow into the ecosystem

As of 2018, Google will slowly fade away, some nice decentralized search engine will take the lead one way or another.
I see this as positive news.

No not really at all since there are a lot of advertising firms other than the google on the internet but the problem is, google is very huge when it comes to advertsing on the internet in youtube alone can generate huge amount of clicks and also in the search engine (adwords) so, it will be hard for the ICO and cryptocurrency related firms to advertise their product and it's services.

It may affect but I don't think it is the downfall. Why?
  • Because there are many people who are already invest some money on cryptocurrency
  • More investments are coming this year because of its growing population
  • I hope they don't banned totally all, they should limit only the ads on google
  • Cryptocurrency is the future money because of its upgrading technology

Yes its possible.but...

1.it could be but the allocation for bounty will be huge
2. The possible downfall will be just for the mean time.
3. recovery of downfall will take time
4.More bounty allocation more money more effort to make.
5. dont take this as a negative cause its actually good for bounty hunters

This will not start a downfall. Project developers will start to reward bounties more while they are not able to push ads on google.
This will help to organic grow of crypto world.

I personally think it is a good thing for a few reasons.

1. It stops the ICOs with the biggest budget simply steamrolling great innovative projects. Any website can get clicks and views if they have a huge marketing budget for Google Adwords.

2. It forces ICOs to think outside of the box and reach their communities in other ways, platforms like Crowdholding will be the future, as no longer will they be able to just spam people to come to their site, but will have to engage them through co-creation.

3. It gives more power to bounties, people will spread the word of the ICO that has either got the best bounty campaign or a project they believe in. Although bounties can be manipulated by offering large sums, it is still better than google Adwords.

The only thing I don't like is that Google is clearly trying to strangle crypto. It's just underhand tactics to break the price, so they can invest into it or scare off users of crypto.

I agree with you.

Banning ads on Facebook, Google and Twitter is a good thing for cryptocurrencies and blockchain projects.

People should do their own research and learn more about the projects before investing.

I have been working with a project for the past 9 months and we are doing fine without scammy ads everywhere, organically growing because of the development progress and partnerships.

I think you are late with information about google ban. and did not try to read some of the same discussions about the google ban.
and what is displayed on the site is completely untrue. crypto will not be finished and destroyed. it's just that, google prohibits the ad serving that smells the sale. that is it. in conclusion, only to prevent the occurrence of fraudulent practices and misappropriation.

Lol I thought it was on CNN.
They say that from June 2018 they will start banning ads that are crypto related.
I don't think that this will affect the market that much because I don't think that there are a lot of people who came here or doing they're trading by clicking on ads.
ICO`s will be the most affected, but as it is an innovative new market they will surely find a way to surpass this small bump.
Also, all this banning I don't think it will last because once they realise that this is business and they are losing it maybe they think it over.
