I completely agree on decentralization.  However that is such a big change for mainstream to grasp they will need companies like Google to show them the way.  Google putting their weight behind bitcoin should annihilate Apple Pay.

Uncle Sam to accept Apple Pay

The U.S. government will begin accepting Apple Pay later this year, said Apple CEO Tim Cook

He announced the news at the White House's summit on cybersecurity and consumer protection at Stanford University on Friday. Beginning in September, certain government transactions such as admission to national parks will accept Apple's mobile payment system, he said.

In my opinion only decentralised solution can become global virtual currency. Apple, Google, Microsoft and other big players will maybe make centralised shitcoin solution but they never can compete with Bitcoin and in time everyone will switch to our decentralised revolution.

Maybe google strikes back at apple pay with a killer google bitcoin wallet.  Google could get tons of merchants on board and bitcoin could be off to the races.
Google wallet has been around for years.  These things don't work. They don't do anything.  They are centralized and based upon fiat.  Junk.  Look for Apple Pay failure in a very short time.  Nobody wants that shit.

Apple Pay needs to only capture 10% of credit card users to become a wildly successful product.
They need to do a lot more then this. They not only need to get people to sign up for apple pay, but also need to get users to actually use their service (as well as get merchants to sign up to accept apple pay payments). If users rarely use their service then it will not make any money, nor will it have any information regarding the spending habits of their users.

They have google checkout and failed to gain market share.
Google checkout is really not a mobile application, it is more something that users can use in a similar way to using paypal or a credit card without trusting the third party site with your credit card number. It also has similar costs which consumers will not like as they do not like higher prices.

Apple pay is just a way to make it easier to use a credit card. At the end of the day, you are still getting hit with high credit card fees, this time, apple is getting a piece of the pie. no pun intended..

ApplePay has to prove itself first, there are large retailers that are not even interested in it.

Let's see how it works out, but I'm sure Bitcoin will get support from Google at some point.
I don't think that google can effectively create a competitor to apple pay. Google only makes the android operating system but not the majority of the phones that run on android.

In order to for google to offer something like apple pay they would need to coordinate specific technology to be put into phones that support/use android, and this would be difficult at best. While apple has been able to test the technology (especially the security of the technology) with their phone prior to making apple pay available, google will not have such a luxury. Android phones are also a lot more vulnerable to attacks as they are not sandboxed and users could (and often do) download applications that are malicious that can do serious damage, and the level of damage would only go up if the phone is being used as a credit card

Bitcoin easy.  All of the infrastructure is being built around it.  Other cryptos are way behind.

Apple pay seems very hot recently. The amount of users is the key to decide which virtual coin would success eventually.
Know yourself as well as the enemy.
Well said. Google will surely fight back. But will it embrace BTC or yet another crypto coin?
