NYSC na very serious program way dey run a very serious scheme for we nation. E dey so compulsorily way be say, even if na for abroad you school, you still need NYSC certificate if you get any hope to do something with government for the nation.
Every life dey valued to government, especially those way don dey called to answer the clarion call. Even soldiers when you dey camp no go treat you unjustly without good reason. You fit take an up with them and they would be punished.

Kidnap na matter everywhere for we nation and everybody, anybody got be victim. Yo think say government or the NYSC program, state coordinator and the rest of the officials way dey I charge of those corpers that got taken na to undermine watin them dey put in. Still, Thai matter no dey easy as, them got do there job while ensuring no more casualties or give reasons for these kidnappers to kidnap more because, e no dey hard them.

Them understand the value of the program and no go want am to dey scrapped out of existence and so, government go dey try to ensure safety.

Fortunately for everyone wey go school reach university level, come finish, NYSC na compulsory. Unless say you don pass or dey the age of about 31 and above or get some kind issues, before them go fit allow you exempt yourself from service.
Egypt own national service na almost 3years naw. Our own na just 1. Even if say you no go fit do the whole 1year, that 3weeks for camp na another experience wey person no suppose miss as long as say na Nigerian university you finish from and you stay the country grow up.

God go do am make Dem release the abducted corps members. Na just make every one wey dey go serve learn safety tips of being of plain cloths wen travelling to and fro place of service/posting, at least travel in a pair, stay online and keep communication and trackers open.
Unless say you plan to branch go somewhere else, stay enroute, move in the day, stay awake and alert and pray.

I no hear about any abduction of corp members for calabar if no be now wey you carry d matter come here come yarn. E be like say no many news channel carry d matter up or dem no pass through peeper channel to disseminate the news. Dis matter no dey surprising becos the whole naija dey face insecurity problem and dis kidnappers dem no mind anyone wey dem go kidnap as long as e go fetch dem money. I pray say d government intervene sharp sharp with local authorities to help save d corp members soon.


If you be Nigerian and you still dey take side for any politician you never know what’s up be dat. The same way you feel say dem do am against Goodluck Jonathan, na d same way d present administration go dey feel say all dis kidnapping na against their own government not to succeed too. Na dem know wetin dey hidden behind dis tinz and make we allow dem solve am dem self instead wey we go dey support one side wey be say dey are all birds of d same feather. And na just opportunity one get above the oda for the meantime. Na just prayers we just need, the days of believing in just a politician to do total just hasn’t arise or is passed already. Na we we get ourselves now to beta our wahala for d country.

The thing be say our naija government no even get time for common Nigerias , their own be say make them continue to they pack money. I no blame them I blame the common Nigeria wey dey support some if them blindly. My own be e for even better make them comot nysc totally because the thing self no dey serve the purpose why them create ahm and even after the service no job for the country.  Graduate wey Don go service come back na pos attendant that one no be juju be that.?....
Them no care about anything wey go make the life of people better so no need make every aboki hold him kettle well.

Government happily using NYSC as cheap labor to cover for our severely lacking government workforce. NYSC been lose its value since na why I no too get interest to do my own next year even if I go do am, I go restrict am within familiar territories.


Bam, you just hit the nail on the head. Government need to figure out a better plan with the program. One too many graduates don lose their lives in pursuit of serving their father's land. And the fact that there is nothing for nysc people to fall back on afterwards makes it harder for the program to make sense.

Bros, shey you want make government give NYSC people soldiers to guide their lodge or dey escort them anywhere them go before you go know say government no dey carry them play. All security measures was given to the in the orientation camp. Some police stations around the corpers area will even give the corpers their numbers should incase there is fanger ot they have problem with anybody that is not a corper.

But the way wey things be for we country, na you go help secure yourself by yourself because security is everyone concern. I believe that the government is trying thier possible best to rescue these victims but they need concrete information that they will work with. Omo no play o, corpers are close to the heart of the government and the police wouldn't just seat down and fold their arms.

My brother, the thing be say government no want stop the program and as them never stop am, well it is necessary to still follow them do am as a graduate because na still one of the things to show say you go tertiary institution, e get the kind work wey dem go still require you to submit discharge certificate, although I still know say for naija money or contact dey do everything but you wey no get all those, collect your discharge certificate or if you no want go then apply for exemption letter.

The thing be say for me NYSC don outlive im value. Since 1973 wey Gowon establish am after the civil war, them still dey feel say e dey create unity but we all know how realistic that assumption dey.

Some members for national assembly don be create bill to abolish the program but e no go through. For me make them scrap am then gather the money wey dem go pay corpers each for that 12 months then carry am give each person make dem take help demselves. That go increase SME small even say electricity no dey. But government no go do am as na still part of them dey gey contracts for NYSC like the uniform, feeding/cow, beddings etc and na big money dey dere

Let me unapologetically state what I've known for many years here. Security issues in this country is a planned game. Police virtually knows where all bad boys stays and how they're operating. The problem is that these guys work for the politicians and they're using them for their dirty jobs. the police is aware of all these. They can't do their Job properly because their hands are tied by these politicians whom pretend to be working for us. If you think I'm lying, go and buy gun, license it properly and shoot three times in the neighborhood. You'll be amazed at the speed police will come and arrest you. This is the same neighborhood that crimes happen without trace. who is  fooling who??
NYSC has long lost its value. Its no longer a that glorified scheme it once was and Corpers are no longer held to such esteem like the early days. If not for job hunt requirements, people wouldn't be going for it that much. I support its being scraped cos its now of little or no value.
Being involved in election is not by force for corpers, I didn't get involved during my time and was not penalized. but you wouldn't blame them,  its an opportunity for extra cash.
I wish and pray for their release. its sad that they are now used as a bait to extort from the government.

Is quite unfortunate say this kind tin happen to dem, in terms of security e no easy for any country in the whole wide world, no be say the government no dy try, dem dy try, but e no dy enough.

U know say as tins dy upgrade, na so criminality dy upgrade, e dy more hard now to clamp down most of this criminals now because more educated ones dy among dem, dem dy do more of thinking now than before, some of them dy out think our security agency, if anyone go fit run better Intel wey dem fit use catch dem, because as long as security is concerned, information na d key, as for now, na just hope and pray for better Intel from community wey d kidnapping take place.

Security na the major problem for everywhere, but I don't find this matter funny at all, and the state government don't want to do something about it. I no sure say government value corpers at all and am not surprised because na naija we dey. Wetin dey choke me pass be say government never talk one thing for the matter and it sounds very stupid. All this kind matter dey discourage person to go serve, but let's still wait for the government because solution must come out

This matter dey pain well well, if na their children dey go don do something but since na the sons and daughters of nobody they kept quiet. This fit make many people they fear say dey no go do NYSC again, when many decide say dey no dey go again e go affect the country because the plenty awareness wey corpers dey create for both urban and rural areas no be small thing. How this family members of these corpers go dey fill now, some of them dey sponsor their children one by one because of financial issues while some family dey wait make their children finished so that he/she go come dey support the family. I dey pray make government turn their attention to dat direction to save the children of poor masses, also provide plenty security so dat e no go dey happen again and make we the students no fit discourage again, government should also make us fill say we really matter to dem.


On my own opinion I no support legislative motion to band NYSC even though e don lost it main purpose, even in life no be everybody fit make am, if service no favour you no mean say e no favour everybody. This NYSC dey help government reduce unemployment ooo, wetin make me talk like this be say some program wey dey dey do for camp dey help a lot especially the SAED program, this program dey help many corpers because e dey make dem no say work no dey for outside. Apart from this dey get many opportunities wey some corper dey get, like those wey like business dey study the environment and think of what to do to make money, also help corpers get their business register with CAC easy for those wey dey interested.

Make we no support wetin legislative dey talk dey don already fail us, dey no fit do anything to save us now, as country dey so government no get anything for the graduate, if they cancel NYSC now na so we go dey move around after school, if we dey reason am say make the government dey park money give us after school, as I no naija na so some ex-graduate go they wait for their arrears as civil servant. Make we dey pray good for the country.

Although, this our country security no dey fear and I go say nai make the country dey free, just like the way e dey till today,  (as anybody fit enter 9ja do as em like, if police talk them bribe them). This our government value our copers well well because even them the government already know say e no dey easy for person to go school untill en finish con turn coper, however, the government no go fit rescue ever of this copers if them try to.
That one way you talk say you no dey sure if others go still go serve no legit, because as a good citizen of this country e no dey good to dey discourage when we see some kind things way dey happen to others, everyone no dey the same. (Everybody get different Grace)
I observed say before before Nigeria nai get the strongest land solders for Africa, but now we dey 4th and only this one go show you say Nigerian security system no good at all, but the government go try their best.

In as much as life is concerned, terrorism, kidnappings and socials vices have been a global threat not only in Nigeria but to the world at large.

Security is not only the duty of the government but the duty of everyone as one can only guarantee his/her own security. In the search to rescue kidnapped NYSC members, it is the duty of the community which the member is serving to give right information that will aid in the rescue of the kidnapped member.

Even as our security agencies are performing their duties, they're also careful of their lives too because they are human too they can't use because they are securing the citizens and lose their lives carelessly. They also have families to take care of, so cases of this nature requires intelligence to handle.

NYSC security suppose be priority to the government and they even made measures to protect the youths in service, such as providing security agencies, teaching the corpers basic security measures, restricting unauthorized movements, and so on. Knowing how the country is, all this is probably all talk and no do. But still, corpers should be able to take care of themselves, people should help in finding the kidnapped victims and not wait for the government to secure them, because if it's the Nigerian government that I know, "you go wait tire"

Make una no get me wrong oh, this same people nah people wey as e happen them suppose no carry them play from day one as Charles-Tim talk say if you slap them nah trouble you find, na so people wey dey at the top suppose take the NYSC people.
At least we suppose to dy hear positive news about this matter but e be like say nobody don hear about their abduction, nai make e come be like say nothing happen. Well make we dy see as them go arrange bring them back.


That Chibok girls matter if you know wetin and wetin dy inside that issue you go know say e get wetin them no want the public to know, them let us hear wetin them want us to hear about Chibok girls own and this one no be same thing compare to the children from Chibok.  See, for the area of security the contri dey poor, no be like say them no care for the corpers it's just that them no fit do much.
And to add to wetin @Charles-Tim tok, to act as election personnel nah voluntary act and no be force because them dey get moni for that period. Yoy know say the allawe them dey collect from govt dey small so them dey use that wan take add to survive.
  See, nah who dey depend on govt to provide them job nah him loose guard. Some people before them enter sch don get one or two skills to take dey hold body and the NYSC camp nah just a place to provide you with endless possibilities on how to further grow and expand those skills.

No be today this kind matter dey happen but wetin they vex me pass na why our government dey allow am happen, again and again. But the reason is not far fetched since you won't isolate all those issues from the plaquing insecurities in the country. Our country don suffer from bad leadership too much so tey we dey count trajectory and antecedents of past leaders and their scale of corruption. Any country that cannot secure it's citizens, especially those it has sent for such National assignment like the NYSC corpers. Haba, people wey get future, get plans, get ambition. Una go just allow make kidnappers carry dem go. Just like that? It doesn't make sense na. Those corpers are supposed to be the most secured citizens of the country, at the time, especially as they wear that uniform, like other workers under government assignments, would be protected.

Since NYSC don become compulsory to dey eligible to get government work for Nigeria, plenty of us no get choice than to go for it. In the middle of attending the program, some us our young people wey get passion go wan take more assignments or go to PPAs that are somewhat closed to vulnerable areas and as such, prone to attacks. Na why if government wan follow my opinion, I go say make em ban this NYSC stuff since it has almost defeated it's purpose. Mainly of which is to promote national unity. How many of the Corpers they actually stay for their PPA, without relocation?

Na wetin make me too go look for connect on how dem go carry me go place wey near home as I been dey serve back then. Because as we beem dey serve, issue of insecurity was still at its peak and I was ready to forfeit it if I didn't get what I wanted, which was a place near home. So, before we go mobilization, dem help me put me for where close home. Like that was actually better for me. But looking at it broadly, that has somehow defeated it's purpose since I could easily serve close to home, without having to travel to the other side of the country.

Abeg, I support that legislative motion wey been suggest say make them Ban NYSC. Since it has lost its main purpose.

Even though our government is not trying much for the citizens considering the amount of confidence reposed on them, I think it will be unfair to blame everything on them. Insecurity is a major problem in many countries of the world, so it is not perculiar to Naija.

As for the NYSC members being kidnapped, all hands must be on deck to rescue them. Police need all the support of the villages with information that can help them in the rescue. It's really unfortunate but I have the feeling they will be released soon.

Federal government do not use NYSC member to joke. Slap one of them and let him just report you in a police station, you will know what I am talking about.

Police will try their best to investigate but they can not find answers to all. In United States, 2 Pac was killed many years ago, but who killed him has not been known until recently that Duane "Keffe D" Davis was alleged to be the one. There are many unknown death in developed countries that no one know what actually happened, some later csn been known after many years gone.

It is not mandatory but voluntary and they are paid for the job. NYSC members do pray for their service year to be during election. If anyone among them do not want to participate, the NYSC member should not go.

Some times I wonder if this our government dem really value this people them call their children, I mean all these our NYSC bordas and sistas wey don devote their time and lives to serve this our contri.
E don dy almost go plenty plenty days and weeks now wey them kidnap some NYSC members for Calabar and our government no dey put force to bring them out, and with this act I no sure say people go fit summon courage to go serve. If nah to call on them to serve their contri when election reach them go call on them and these our brodas and sistas go answer the call.
E dy pain me say we still dey go for all these things when government call on them, abi the NYSC no get right to say no all these government related things? I still dy ask, e really dy comporsary to go serve still come out to continue dy suffer as if them do wrong for the nation?
No work instead nah hustle wey no dey related to wetin these our brodas and sistas go school for, e make sense?
