I'm thinking the opposite. If you were a victim of the Goxxing, would you hang on to your returned coins? I'd think most people would dump them for fiat as quickly as possible.

That sounds like crazy talk. Wouldn't a rational person instead say Whew! I escaped a narrow one. Glad that lesson didn't cost me all my bitcoins. I'll never leave my coins in the hands of a third party again.
ETA: embarrassed disclosure: I lost $16.00 USD and change in the Gox implosion. Though perhaps I'll get it back - yippee!

Nah, they have only made an application. They can just cancel the application. Court has 0 power if they now come out and say we are being acquired and everyone will be made whole.

So does this mean the story about them all being "stolen by hackers" was a lie? Does "stolen by hackers" really mean "we lost the private keys but then Mark found them scribbled on the back of a playmate pinup in his bedroom?"
It means that the likelihood of a gag order forcing them to lie about "hackers" just increased from likely to nearly certainly.
