Best Boards of 2017 IMO are:

H270-P and Z270-P by ASUS

and Biostar TB250 and TB350.

TB350 being based on AM4, goes well with AM4 X4 950
TB250 being intel, goes well with G3900 (since its cheaper than the kaby lake counter and you can run win 7 or 8 on the skylake G3900)

I have 4 rigs with Z270-P and it never caused any problems.
It is also well-documented and there are lot of guides how-to at Youtube

I'm using an ASRock Z97 Extreme4 with 6 pcie lanes because I had it lying around and I don't seem to be having any problems with it. It has an M.2 port also so it might be able to do 7 but i'm not sure, I never tried it.

What cards/os/system are you running ? I have the exact same motherboard and it refuses to work with more than 4 gpus.

thank mate, had a flick through that thread and youtube videos,
none relate directly to the h270,
the z270 boards work fine

i have enabled the 4d decoding, played with the peg settings etc
i am guessing there is a trick or mod somewhere that needs to be done on the h270 artic board to get these other 2 cards lighting up

cheers

Hallo guys, sorry my newbie i want to ask, i have a plan for mining ethereum using gpu (rx480), i ask how many gpu do i need to get 0.5 eth in one day? thank you.

At the current rate you'd need 530 mhs to get that, so about 18-21 GPUs depending on the hashrate you get, the difficulty is increasing though!

Sorry for interrupting but how do you use GPUs with PCIe x1 slots? Do you use riser or something?

yes risers. generally the usb kind like this.

https://www.amazon.com/Powered-Extender-Litecoin-Bitcoin-Mining/dp/B00HZ0M9F2

note i am not endorsing this particular one, there are lots of them with varying quality. you can get some high quality ones from some members here.

I've got a few Z270-A Pros, I'm happy with em, 6 GPU native, 8 with splitter
Hello!
Could you tell me how you start up 6 GPUs on MSI Z270-A Pro? I can start only 4 cards.
What version of BIOS and performances do you use? Thanks it all.

Guys, I'm just about to pull the trigger on the parts to build two 7-GPU rigs. Was going for the MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon mobos, please tell me they will actually support 7 GPUs... Reading this thread got me scared!
