Lol I would like to see Jaymes reaction once he reads this.  Its like stealing the coin behind his back. I am not saying we should not but I am sure he will be quite surprised.

Whats this coin doing its worthless 1sat... had such potential. I guess no support. O well.

This is only posted as an aside, but yesterday afternoon, I decided to dump my GPUC at 1 sat. I sent my wallet's worth to an exchange... 2 hours later it still had no confirms. I finally deleted the wallet.dat, and restored an earlier backup, to get the coins back in my wallet.

I must assume that the exchange I sent the coins to was on a different fork, but I'm one of those people who believe that everything happens for a reason.

I'm going to hodl these now, and see what happens. (Silly?) 

Hendrix already had an escrow, store, and method to charge based on the current market value.
if he would set the market value to the average over the past month, switch to accepting a few coins, and then also sell gpuc directly from said store, we could have a sort of amazon.com site.

would be a good deal of work on his end, but why not?
it has the potential to be as big as amazon. i'd say even go full on copy and paste of how amazon looks and feels.
this way people are already used to the layout.

the sellers could post their coins directly in que to be sold from the site itself, or opt to cash out to their wallet.
why are we waiting for some huge corporation to adapt when we can do it ourselves.
the store doesn't have to be called gpucoinstore.

pretty sure i've said this all before in this thread. while it would be nice for someone else to get the heart beating on gpuc, what's stopping those involved already to get cracking on this?

Well I dont know if PoS is good or not. But for sure, for a coin to work more adoption is good. Specially as I dont know what is the future of the gpucoin store.
Hope James can see the big community force and share his profits with other willing members.
One thing I have learned is that getting a small piece of a big pie is better than getting nothing....

I think you hit the nail on the head here... the problem is , it's a huge risk, esp with the PoW generating more coins.  I think that could work for a PoS-only coin.  Good news is while trying to help the AC project i've started working on the PoS code base...

This is my first post to the bitcointalk forum. But I have been mining for quite some time.
I think Jame's inexperience and one man team(management side) problem is mostly to be blamed for the coins downfall(its not yet failed).
Why dont we focus on spreading on more adoption of the GPUcoin? Why is GPU coin only linked to GPU coin store? Maybe other fronts for its adoption can be promoted. The brand name(GPUcoin) itself seems to be pretty appealing. Maybe we can ask others to adopt this coin(casinos, mining rig equipment vendors etc).
I myself can donate a 100,000 coin(i know its not much at 1 satoshi....but i think the coin can have a better future) for the bounty.
James started this coin with a good motive but I feel as he didnt fix number of GPU coins required per GPU so the coin had no backing to maintain its value.
Anyways I hope this coin gets a better future and doesnt end up like Panda coin or other shit coins.

PS: lets try to focus on solving the problem and make this coin being more vastly adopted(and not only for the gpucoin store) . Also please vote at mintpal the coin is still at rank 18. Finally, lets not sell cheap.

as long as he had interests in the coin, it was in his interest to not dump anything, so if you "steal" his coin, what do you think will happen ?

Find out that Jaymes was running a scam all along? I guess that would be like salt on the wound. but beyond that, not much worse.

The true good that came out of this is on the development team: They've earned some solid rep at providing support and quality code.

How could it get worse?

James, do us all, and yourself a favor, and let someone try to make something out of this.....  You have a mountain of coins, I'm sure you are just as interested in making them worth something as we are...

Well, if the Coin Revolution dudes are so into it, they might even want to start their own front end... although I doubt it.
Judging by the voting thread, it seems that they are clueless as to whats GPUc and its current situation.
They will most probably agree to help, come here, speak with micryon and waltsmith, realize there is nothing that can be done and move to another coin.

Or, they might be encountered by pastet89 and get their money sunk by yet another contest. Or a couple.

This seems to go back to what was said a page or 2 back. Without the business frontend, the coin is just another coin, so what's the point? Figuratively speaking.

They seem legit guys, they have already helped a few coins out of good will. We have nothing to lose anyway in trusting them, they can only help.
Seems like we will be picked on their vote.
Question is what do we do from here?

If you re-read my posts, you'll see I was very supportive in the beginning hundred or so. The more I got to know him and the trails of destruction he left behind, the more I simply vocalized what others didn't want to believe.

I still remained supportive to people when they needed help. I tried to help this coin from launch, and even after relaunches 2 and 3. I offered servers, development, mining farms, media support, on-the-ground shipping and coordination.. the whole lot. He refused all of it. Imagine if he'd partnered with someone local, like myself--the business wouldn't have failed due to "personal reasons".

If by badmouthing you mean I hold the owner solely responsible--like everyone else--then sure. None of my statements have been exaggerated or without basis. I even offered multiple times to go find him in person to see if he could get back on the forums, or to be a mediator of contact between he and the forum, but you guys weren't interested.

I got out while the getting was good, so did some others. I'm sorry if you weren't one of those lucky few. I tried to steer people away from wasting their electricity and hopes, not out of any personal vendetta, but because I want to see the community as a whole do well in crypto and I don't like seeing people get taken.
