The reason everything forked is that with wallets already downloaded and just a
pass needed everyone came online at same time with several gigahash. Pools not
having already set up helped, but with this pre-hyped coin the launch was far
too big. With that low diff and all that hash, people today were banging out
hundreds of blocks a second. The network didn't stand a chance. To a young
un-established block-chain without established seed-nodes that is death. Most
likely death with even with a few good nodes. Seen it too many times. People
will bitch no matter what you do but to get a nice smooth relaunch, pass out
your IPO, and then get on with your store front(which if I understand correctly
is what you really want to spend your time doing, not this launch shit) then the
answer is very simple in my opinion.
DO NOT set a firm launch time. People will be pissed but they always are so fuck
em. You say launch tommorrow? Then say, tomorrow afternoon, NOT 5 eastern,
everyone will b e watching then,some time b4, just edit the OP title to LAUNCHED
with the new un-passworded link to the wallet in the OP. Randomly, the first few
will notice and come online. It takes people different amounts of time to set up
a wallet and start mining, so some will get the early coins. But RANDOMLY. It
won't take long for everyone to start but just that little spread of increasing
hash-rate will allow nodes to develop and the block-chain to establish itself,
hopefully diff start rising b4 pools and whales get on board as well. You are
the businessman, not trying to tell you how to run that, this is just how the
bitcoin protocol was designed to run. People want pre-downloaded passworded
wallets and all that crap for "fairness". Fairness doesn't have anything to do
with it. It just how it works.
