You conspiracy requires that all the Chinese regulators are acting in concert.  This is unlikely.  However, maybe traders post more about the various bans and actions to drive price.

Bitcoin is a very interesting experiment but it's not a panacea for government currencies.  The best way to crash bitcoin is to cut off the money supply to exchanges through sanctions on banks.  It's quite easy.

True.  But the deep state is even now beginning to turn on the bankers. More likely they want crypto to replace fiat, at that point.  Deep state is rife with militaristic nationalists who are unfriendly to the internationalist bankers.  Impoverish the nation via fiat and the deep state will go gold or, more pragmatically, crypto.

The time to suppress crypto is now, while it is weak and fiat strong.  But we know that's not happening.  Later is too late.

If I was Chinese (and really, same being American), and the government issued any sort of ban or restriction, or looked like it was about to, I'd invest heavily in btc and hang on...NONE of these world governments are going to fare when OUR government finally faces the reality it can't pay its bills and can't print anymore money and can't make the inflation/recession problem go away and is essentially fucked.

The one thing governments can do, and often do very well, is print money to pay off existing liabilities and generate money that they first spend before it trickles to the rest of the economy.  United States debt is denominated in USD$.  There is no problem paying it off if the USA can print as much money as it needs.  The resulting hyperinflation however... well, people would get rather testy losing their life savings.

Government employees would be locked into USD currency...and when it collapses and isn't worth shit, cops and soldiers and agents don't get paid...

If hyperinflation hits it's the army and police who are kept happy and paid enough to maintain loyalty, bugger the rest of the population.

TPTB manipulate LIBOR, precious metals, everything fucking thing you can imagine.
And yet being the biggest bitcoin holders, and having enough free $$ to fill the grand canyon, they just wouldn't manipulate the bitcoin price eh?

I don't much fear the "plot" to wreck the economy to install a one world currency and being puppets of the enforcers - all that sort of thing because the "elites" still have to pay enforcers with something and if the currency's been devalued to the point nobody wants it, they won't have the muscle they think they'll have.

Government employees would be locked into USD currency...and when it collapses and isn't worth shit, cops and soldiers and agents don't get paid...

All of this is coming to a head...globally. They're out of control and destroying states and nations - so no matter what my government says, *I* say fuck that...btc it is. Once they've collapsed the economy they'll be irrelevant anyway and what they say won't matter anymore...they'll be too busy finding places to hide from a globe of pissed off, fed up citizens after blood  Grin

Chinese who are smart will buy as much as possible and hang onto it...because China's not in that great a shape as it is...one false move, down they go.

Tinfoil hat --- checked.
Safety goggles --- checked.

I suspect a giant pump and dump is going on. Chinese officials know that they drive the market so they are now manipulating it. Once the price is tanked they allow bitcoin trading again, pumping up the price. Then they will ban bitcoin AGAIN to make it crash as it does right now. They repeat the cycle until it is profitable. At least I'd do that if I was a corrupt slant eyed politician.

I have suspicioned this for quite some time. Especially after the crash to $350, then there was suddenly news that the PBOC was NOT banning bitcoin. This all sounds very suspicious to me, and very much like there is some inside market manipulation happening.

I already feel indifference. I think it's one of the last phases of difficult psychological suffering. My dreams are giving me random noise, mixed with the writing of my master's thesis and Bitcoin price movements. About the latter, tonight I saw that price went to 500$ in a single surge. I was amazed but then took a closer look and saw that this was in some newly created exchange and Bitstamp remained 350ish.

Denial about bitcoins price has different phases. Right now we are seeing the conspiracy phase.
During this phase, people will make up all kinds of fantastic stories how the bitcoin price is dropping because of government conspiracy/banking conspiracy/alien conspiracy or all three tied together. There will be plenty of posts like this.
When this phase is over, then there will be a "let's blame each other" phase, where people start to post weird rants about blaming everyone involved for destroying bitcoin. This could also be called the "We could of have heaven, but you sold your coins and ruined it all!" phase. But at first we will get tired of seeing the conspiracy phase before the first posts of the next phase will start to appear.

nice one. According to the theory, after denial and anger ( 2 steps discribed ) we still will see bargaining, depression and acceptance to finish the cycle.
Might see a reversal after that

I like your insights.  This is exactly happens in pennystock land.

Usually a penny stock can get pumped 2 or 3 times but it usually dies in long run
