Since CoinHoarder has closed (hopefully I won't have to keep editing my thread) I've reopened my group buy:

Yes sir, I'm closed for good. Sorry to close and open so many times. Good luck Smiley

Ultimately you're doing the community a service.  Sure you make a little profit at the beginning but it can become cumbersome or tedious as time drags on.  Having had my GPUfarm close to 50TH I know about constantly worrying about miner downtime (FPGA farms are a lot easier to manage).  I was hesitant to start a group buy but I really feel bad for people who would like to get into the ASIC scene but don't have 6k laying around, are in the US and have crappy options for buying BTC or are not technically proficient with mining equipment but nonetheless fully supportive of BTC.

trying what?  just hoping you have thought things thru and not just have dollars signs flashing thru your head.

 Watts= voltage X amps

At 120 volt total watts would be 2400 at 20 amps. Code states that circuit conductors that are fed by this breaker on a continuous load can only be loaded to 80%. #12 wire rated at 20 amps, derated to 16 amps continuous = 16 x 120 = 1920 watts, #10 wire rated at 30 amps derated to 24 amps continuous = 24 x 120 = 2880 watts. On load calculations this derate should be taken into consideration. To maintain the required wattage needed for the load the wire size and/or the next size breaker may be needed.

prepare to be suprised is all im sayin.

Easily.  200 amp 240V service is standard in most modern residences these days.  That's good for 48kW.

I recommend that CoinHoarder power the Avalons all on 240V circuits, for efficiency's sake.

Yes sir, everything's going on 240v

Hey Coinhoarder, PM sent on those LTC miners.

lol...hmmmm...reality is so harsh....

wonders how these 6...possible 7 avalons at 650watts apiece are going to get power from a 4Kw residential service...

Nice try, but I have 7 LTC miners going RIGHT NOW that pull more power than an Avalon will (I am getting rid of the LTC rigs to make room for the Avalons).....

When you run on 240v, it's pretty easy..

since CoinHoarder is done, then i will be happy to take over the next avalon orders/purchase.  I have space, power, infrastructure in place to house several.  I run a computer business in Louisiana and when i thought coinhoarder was done last night I created my own forum post to try and do exactly what he is doing.  I closed it after he opened his back up, but would be willing to do it still if there is interest.  i know i am a "noob" here but as you can read in my forum post and see the pictures i am serious.  only been mining for last 3 weeks, but dont think i've missed the boat yet if i can get these miners up and going.  see forum post here - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/group-buy-avalon-asic-batch-3-pool-159316

I see. Well thanks for the service you provided. If there was a way of automating this I would offer the same service.

Happy hashing to you all!

Thanks Smiley

Looks like there are still units available for purchase.

Yes, there are still units for purchase. I decided I did not want to take on any more investors, as it was starting to get a little out of control.

It would be nearly impossible to keep track of all the transactions if I ordered one/two/several more. I already have my work cut out for me as it is. Smiley

Guess a broken heart will be the least of my worries at that point.. I dunno why i gave myself the impression bitfloor would be good to go in 30 min! I thought i had it in the bag.. Such is life ..

Thanks for your help regardless, i wouldnt have gotten this far without it... guess a small chance is better than none.

You're welcome.

I apologize for recommending them, they've always been very fast when I've deposited cash.

I'm sure your money will show up soon, don't worry.

You dont think bitfloor will come thru tonight?... so i can buy one on my own..
I put down 75BTC in USD!    Sad

I'm not sure, maybe try contacting them, but I wouldn't really start to worry about it until it doesn't show up for a day+

I just want to say thanks coinhoarder for taking this on and I'm glad to be apart of this even though not a big one.  This should be really interesting  Wink

You're welcome, I'm glad to be a part of it!

After seeing how much money I raised in just 2 days, I'm glad I stepped up to the plate and did it before some scammer did the same thing and ran away with everyone's BTC.
