Any recommended makes and models of 1070's to look at?  Do I understand that there is no need to go tweaking bios on the Nvidia cards to get the performance from them?

Well more like you can't mod bios because they come with a digital signature, so that need to be circumvented somehow. In the future maybe Smiley

as for model, im pretty happy with the EVGA 1070 FTW, they come with 2x8PIN connector for power, and are very stable even @ good OC (i run them @150/600 - 50-60% TDP depending on crypto) rock stable. They're not the cheapest ones that's for sure, i got them at a real bargain, even regretting not just buying more to resell them lol.

27MH on etheruem

is that on linux, because on windows 1080 could only do ~4 MH/s it seems ?  Huh

http://cryptomining-blog.com/7965-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-and-ethereum-mining-what-to-expect/

Nope, on windows10 im getting 22Mh/s with GTX 1080

i do with oc around 31mh ethereum but it's not the good crypto to mine nowaday with nvidia, zcash or monero is the way to go Smiley

I know the 1080 got issue with ethereum because of it's special memory, but a solution was found for zcash, maybe one will come for ETH when it'll become interesting to mine again ? we'll see Smiley

Ok thanks..

I am having issues while mining on windows 10.. my gpus just go to sleep.. anyone knows what the issue might be ?

Might it be weak PSU?  I am running 2 1070s on corsair tx750v2

adjust the power setting for windows 10, remove the 10/30 min sleep for both the monitor and the system

Does removing sleep on the monitor actually matter?

It might consume a few watt less. However, by not having a mouse attached to my miner 24/7, I removed the screen sleep so I can check from time to time what's going on.

No, but when the system sleeps it does matter.

just plug and play, there are some algo on which you need to set intensity to not have your desktop lagging too much, but other than that they are all p&p

Some noob questions:

Are the ccminer settings optimizes differently for each of the algorithms or settings are universal?

What is the best way to find out the best settings for 1070?

Can anyone share their settings for ccminer?

sudo X :1 &
export DISPLAY=:1
sudo nvidia-settings --assign "[gpu:0]/GPUGraphicsClockOffset[3]=200" --assign "[gpu:0]/GPUMemoryTransferRateOffset[3]=1200"

Before all these set coolbits in /etc/X11/xorg.conf to enable overclocking. Dealing with multiple GPUs is a headache. I had to plug them all into monitors.

headache? buy the professional equipment:

and implement the high-tech solution:

It's very robust and the best OS ever created according to me.

btw: are you able to switch 8 rigs to other pool/algo in 20 seconds? Smiley

I thought maybe there is more optimized miner out there.. but I guess I will stick with ccminer then... Smiley

Is there any other compatible miners with 1070 except ccminer?

Sgminer should work, but that's only a raw assumption. Since ccminer is the most optimised, I don't see why you would want something else.

Gtx 1070

Ubuntu 16.04, cuda 8.0.26, driver 367.27

[Reference + EVGA hybrid kit @150W limit]

Ethash with genoil: 26mh/s
Neoscrypt with nicehash-sp: 1050 kh/s
Lyra2v2 with nicehash-nanashi: 35mh/s

[OC core+200, memory+1200 @150W limit]

Ethash with genoil: 30.5mh/s
Neoscrypt with nicehash-sp: 1150 kh/s
Lyra2v2 with nicehash-nanashi: 37.5mh/s

I could set the power limit to 170W using nvidia-smi but it still runs at below 150W.

really nice vlaue you have there especially for neoscrypt which is 60% more than a 970 and also etheruem

can you tell em about the exact consumption, with those hashrate?

i hope these hashrate can be "portrayed" in some way to windows

did anyone checked this, apparently one 1070 can do 37MH https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/7780/gtx1070-linux-installation-and-mining-clue-goodbye-amd-welcome-nvidia-for-miners

My rig currently has 2 cards, running at 370W for eth and neoscrypt, 350W for lyra2v2. So I guess they run at 150W on ethash and neoscrypt and 140W on lyra2v2.

I checked that thread when setting things up, but with two cards I couldn't clock as high. There might be a chance if the cards can actually draw 170W.
