Each 1070 is doing ~25 on Eth and ~250 on SIA.

They are Zotac Mini cards at all stock configuration at the moment.

This is very low compared to RX580, which makes 30/570.

RX 580 needs BIOS mods AND a large overclock to get to 30 on ETH.
GTX 1070 needs a good memory overclock and no more - and some will get to 31-32 if you have memory that overclocks particularly well.

Power consumption is a tossup - they're close enough that specific card variations and tweeking can give the win to either side.

At CURRENT pricing though, the GTX 1070 wins on hash/$ against the VERY FEW "available for sale" RX 580 listings I've seen this week, and marginally on availability, but BOTH the RX 580 AND the GTX 1070 are getting into "very short supply" issues, and pricing on both is inflated (more so for the RX though, since those are supposed to MSRP in the $200-$250 ballpark).

GTX 1080 is about 20% better as a very rough ballpark on skein or zec - again, specific brand model and manufacturing tolerances will vary that figure. At CURRENT pricing, it's more like 5-10% more than a 1070, sometimes LESS then the higher-priced 1070 models, and availability doesn't seem to be an issue so far.

ALL of this could change tomorrow, given the current demand vs supply conditions on any card that is even semi-decent for mining with.

Hi brizio,
u can check here http://whattomine.com/

I don't have any idea about hashrate of this card for each algorithm and the relative power consumption !
Here it's all filled out for the 1070 just push calculate each day and it updates showing most profitable coins to mine

I'm currently testing +105 core and -502 mem (max on MSI) on multiple GTX 1070s. What algorithms are memory intensive like ETH and ZEC?

ZEC isn't all that memory intensive, certainly not like ETH is.

I'm currently testing +105 core and -502 mem (max on MSI) on multiple GTX 1070s. What algorithms are memory intensive like ETH and ZEC? When running on the multi-algo pools like zpool or miningpoolhub is there any advantage to keeping memclocks up as opposed to underclocked as much as possible to allow higher core on reduced TDP of 77?

Also with 1080Ti's coming at a premium are GTX 1080 a worth alternative if they can be purchased at 30% more than a GTX 1070 or do they suffer in certain algorithms?
I prefer the 1070 over both 1080's but I guess it depends on your situation and how many PCIe slots you have. AS for multi algo mining it depends on how often you are mining the memory intensive algos, which ZEC will often be the most profitable so having the memory a little overclocked might be profitable. It depends on if you have expensive electricity but giving the mem a boost and lowering TDP on multi algo mining probably a way to get optimal performance and efficiency, but if the memory inensive algos go out of profitability then lower the memory overclock. Personally I don't bother over clocking i just lower TDP on my nvidia cards but I know you can squeeze more hash out of them so it's really up to what works for you.

it's useless to have 100% tdp bro, you don't get much mroe in hashgrate versus 80% 150 core, what are your hahsrate on skein with your setting for example? i can get 1giga wiht 80% and +100 corei tried 100% and it's barely get me anything more thna that while consuming much more and overhat the gpu for nothing

Lowering TDP will drop hashrate after a while - but initially it tends to be a much lower hashrate drop than a power consumption drop, which matters if you have expensive electric and need to maximise EFFICIENCY.
Lower TDP also keeps a card cooler, which in some cases CAN improve hashrate via the card not going into thermal limiting.

There is no "one true answer" though, as there are many variables that affect each person differently.

always do 80% max tdp or even lower, while increase the core to +100 or +150, mem only matter on algo such as ETH or ZCASH, not many algo require memory, most of the tiem i do the trick of -502 i get better hash

NOPE ... always is not good solution ... my guru told me when you go to much low on tdp it drasticly remove hashrate ... all you need is hashrate .. tdp is only for lowering of elecricity bills ... like 1080ti ... on stock tdp has 250w and is able to +250 even more on core (im now running on 100% tdp and +270 core) and its different if you have 180w and 870mh/s or 250w and 1gh/s coz in prise in el. it will be couple of dollars per month but you will increase your income by +20% and it will do hundreds

I DONT TELL: DONT LOWER TDP ... i only say that you need to configure your system to get same hashrate with lower power consumption but not much ... why you need lower el. bills when you "lost" realy big amout of money that way ... if you live in absurdly expensive state on el., then yes ofc ... but even in europe is only 0,15e for kwh ... its so much low ...

when you have rig, that eats 1kwh per hour, then it MUST have enourmouse hashrate

so IMO for OC/undervolt
1080ti - never undervolt, put +++++ in core what can this beast take (and ---- on mems, like -502)
1080 - dont know, dont have any
1070 - i have it on 87% tdp 1card and 85% tdp on 2nd ... 1st is on +185core (-502mems) and showing 1923+- MHz ... 2nd one is on +220core (-502 mems) and 1923+-MHz (sometimes jump up to 1949) ... BUT i cant actualy say, how much each cards is eating

EDITED: but it realy depends on algo you are using ... ethash or equihash are much easier to compute, so you can lower tdp as hell and increase core and mems to the heavens but when you are using algo that is heavy core only (skein, neoscrypt, decred, lyra .....) you must be carful with OC and TDP

I have a 980Ti and trying to find optimal values. Sytem is 50-60W on wall when idle
So far I managed 430 Mh/s 205W on wall by lowering tdp. I can do 500ish but power consumption becomes
around 290-300Watss on the wall.

Those are different gpus but does anybody have experience on 980ti cards?

I follow GTX 1070 and GTX 1080/Ti threads as well because I am going to upgrade.

This is very low compared to RX580, which makes 30/570.

RX 580 needs BIOS "memory strapping" mods to get to 30 on ETH

1070 on ETH should be getting more like 28, but it might be getting dropped a fair bit by the SIA dual-mining and it does depend noticeably on the brand of memory on the specific 1070 (and on OC settings).

best algo now is skein with a 1070, or myr groestl always DGB, another good option is equihash on HUSH, then you ahve the normal profit with lbry or zcash, there isn't much better than this, but you can check on yiimp there are a bunch of other profitable algorithm

I have not tried dual mining with SIA on any of my RX480/RX580 systems yet -- just Decred.

Also I have not yet tried to do any optimization on the 1070 system just yet. I am sure it can do a bit more just as tuning the RX systems does =)

I did a little tweaking on the 1070 with Afterburner & increased DCRI on SIA coin.

SIA is up to 450 per card with Eth being the same -- at around 100-watts. I was seeing about 150-watts before per card.

So far have only adjusted the Power % and have not increased mem clock or decreased core clocks.

-----

For reference... my best RX580s (with no BIOS mods) only do 25 on Eth.

Now I'd like to test some of the RX580s dual mining with SIA as well to compare wattage from the 1070 to RX580.
