Why I can't vote? I'm not newbie or anything...

That's weird. I can't seem to be able to vote either. Perhaps the poll has been locked.

Multinational corporate.

*moved to Off-Topic.
i don't think a corporation invented bitcoin. There hasn't really been any companies that have profited off of it that much.

Probably japanese, considering his name, although he probably wouldn't use his real name as a creator of this type of thing. I think maybe he's american other than his name.

He took Japanese name but this doesn't mean he id from Japan.
He can be Japanese in USA, UK, any other country...
Also, we can't know if this is just one person or group of people, even can be some corporation.
Probably we will never discover his true identity.

I think there is a good chance that he is Japanese for these same reasons, however I think he lived in the US as he posted at times when people in the US would be expected to be awake.

An Indian or Filipino.  Grin

Maybe he is Japanese and I think he is totally proud being a Japanese, If he is Filipino or Indian he would use a nickname that would sound like an Indian or Filipino.

Filipinos use Spanish names though, so a Filipino might be confused for a Spaniard or Mexican.

will people please atleast do your research.

its british..

please bring back the newbie section to give these noobs time to do some research

2 easy tell tell signs

1. he writes using english grammar and spelling
2. the genesis block references a british newspaper

end of

1 - Joseph Conrad learned english at the 30's and is one of the biggest english writters. Anyone can learn english to perfection, and there are schools that teach the brithsh english. Or it could be only a distraction.

2 - Most of scientific papers will quote papers all around the world, so it means nothing.

I think he means that he chose a Times of London article as a proof of date for his genesis block:

Quote
"The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks," serves as Satoshi’s choice to time stamp for the block chain as basic proof that he could not have made the first block before January 3, 2009.

He did also use the phrase "bloody hard" in one of his posts which is not a typical American phrase. Doesn't mean that he's British though. He could be a Canadian or an Australian, or even a New Zealander. Or it could all just be a ruse designed to further conceal his identity.

I think he is European, but not from the UK. That's because his creation is in fact very anti-bank and freedom oriented. That kind of mindset is very strong in some European countries (stronger than in the US, UK or Japan).

His English is very good, so I would assume that he is not from southern Europe. Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands, and Germany would be the most realistic countries in terms of both language and mindset.
