Thanks for guide, I am going to try to follow your guide so that I am not going to get banned.

Wait, as much as I know, from the newbie readme, you'll get activity points even if you make one post in the perion of two weeks because that formula for getting activity isn't in the game anymore, is that right?

I have just read about this and I saw it on meta you can just check the thread and read the whole information.

It still does, gaining  activity points  every two weeks  with just one post  on that  timeframe , even if you post  how many times on that certain time  still 14 activty  would be added on your potential activity. Back to topic , just be active on the forum and dont mind of leveling fast and do constructive post.

That is how it works, even if you dont be able to make 14 posts in two weeks you will still get your activity counts later on when your posts reach the amount of activity counts, so a newbie really does not need to do any post without reason for just ranking up but first they should learn and later on when they do constructive posts they will reach to their potential rank.

Correct, with these idea many newbie would not  do spamming because they are already informed how the  potential activity works, so that they wouldnt need to  make post that are  useless just to cope up with the  post count that they are believing which is wrong. Just read in the rules and regulations into this forum before you engage to posting things.

It's helpful guide, to ranking up the accounts without spamming or posting shit posts. The problem is that some members don't take the needed time to read the topic before posting their replies, and this way they make usually out thread posts.

May be its the case with newbies who are new to the forum, they want to increase their posts count and are in hurry to upgrade their account which results in spamming.

Agree, that's so helpful for newbies especially, because they are unluckily the most members making spam posts and don't following the forum's rules.

That is the reason why most of the campaigns stopped participation for newbies because they are mostly spam posters, i remember the time when most of the campaigns used to accept newbies as well but it is not the case now because the quantity of spammers are increasing day by day.

Not only to newbies who makes spam all the times there are also high rank out there  just keeping on replying to threads and dont mind  thats already irrelevant to the topic. Newbie treated as spammers because  they dont have enough knowledge when they engaged to join in sig campaigns thats why only few signature campaigns do accept newbie for that spamming reasons.

I'll definitely follow these guidelines as I am planning to join signature campaigns in the future. I only post in threads that I can relate to in order for me to convey properly my idea and learn also from others about a certain topic.

That is what every newbie is supposed to do if they want to gain some knowledge and ideas from this forum or if they are wishing to increase their post quality, they will just ruin their accounts if they just start posting after joining the forum without getting any help if how they should do it.

Another suggestions.
Dont reply any unrelated post. Dont reply if dont know the topic that being discussed
Dont post any short sentece like "how are you?", " hi", "hello" etc.

Dont do this so wont get ban or worst permaban.

Just post naturally, without any restraint or focus on making a certain post count to rank your account. You are here to talk about Bitcoin, and you should not focus on anything else. In a sense some

signature campaigns are assisting in aggravating some people on this forum. A good signature campaign should restrict spamming and also set some guidelines on how to post constructively. The length

of the post are not always a solution to prevent 1 line spamming. In many instances a short response is even better than a wall of text.  Roll Eyes

One positive thing coming from this, is the fact that people gives more attention to the content of their posting... I have been on forums, where people simply post loads of  Grin Shocked Roll Eyes Lips sealed Cry ... without

any real debate going on about the subject matter.  Roll Eyes

Hi buddies,

I definitely agree that spammers are such a pain  Angry

Even more since i know that some high ranked accounts can be sold at good price to give credibility to scammers. In my opinion, prevent that kind of sale would be good, by locking the account if using different IP or something, despite i know this is likely impossible uuh Undecided

I come however with one question about ranks: where i can i find a tabler with the number of posts corresponding to each rank?

I Recommended you the Following ways to Rank Up your Position:-
1. First of all Post quality Posts and don't post like thanks, bump etc words.
2. Only post limited posts Here and Don't post here only with the Motive of earning money.....

A spammer never cares if what discussion is going on or what the people on that page are talking about, but he comes just writes his text which is almost meaningless and goes away, most of the people do it when they are new just to rank up their accounts but some people do it after getting involved with a signature campaign for reaching their minimum post target.

Yes I also have a few tips to make a good post!

I never post in a topic I don't find interesting.
If I don't have anything good to say I wont reply on the topic!

Atleast think a little bit about your post, and also edit it to make it look readable.

That is what I do Most of the time I am just reading the forum, till I find something good to reply on.

Rank up of account without spamming is just same as that you give organic growth to your website in search engines without doing something opposite to the terms and services mentioned.

That's true and if you want to rank up your account without spamming then there is one simple answer to it, try to  make less posts in a day but make the quality posts, and ranking is automatic it will be updated every 2 weeks.

Unfortunately, it is a sad truth that there are a lot of users of this forum out there who shit-post and write one line replies or make a reply that has nothing to do with the conversation. This post is for those who want to make money from sig campaigns and have people not  be annoyed with you. If you post a sick tutorial or have something brilliant to say, you may even get tipped in addition to your campaign revenue.

1) Read enough of t hread before commenting. Many people will quickly glance through a thread and write a reply that has little contribution to with the topic on hand. If you get no replies, your post is probably meaningless.

2) Be controversial. Say you opinion and speak your mind about the topic at hand. This will result in possibly heated debates that can get you really enticed in the conversation. You may even forget you're being paid to post on this forum.

3) Write write write. As a general rule of thumb, new threads should be a few paragraphs long and replies should have at least four sentences. Short replies posted just to be paid is spamming.

There are my suggestions.  I followed these rules and haven't been banned for spamming or removed from my campaign. If you're one of those people who don't give a shit, you may end up banned.

I have a problem with number 2.

If you try to forget you are posting for signature (as I used to do). Once you have a rational conversation with a person, you are accused of spamming by another member.

Possibly these will reduce nonsense spamming anyway of 1 letter/word or even sentence replies.

I know that I personally try to make my posts a few senteces or lines per post each.

How does activity effect rank ?? I mean how do i know how long and how well i must post for in order to reach a certain rank ? Thank you.
This is explained here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/forum-rankspositionsbadges-what-do-those-shiny-coins-under-my-name-mean-178608

The short of it is you can earn a max of 14 points every 2 weeks.  There is no magic method of ranking up quickly (short of buying somebody's account).  It takes time and posts.

The way they explain it doesn't make sense to me,

time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Number of two week periods ?? Would  that mean 2 weeks it 1 ? so 6 weeks is 3 ?
Since registration ? So the older the better ?

To me it sounds like time= Account age in weeks / 2
 Huh Huh Undecided
I've been posting here the last 4 days consistently and stayed at 140 activity.  I have to take into consideration the fact that I have been offline for the last 8 months a while ago, but still, I haven't moved up any activity yet.
Don't get me wrong, i'm perfectly fine with being full member, its just that I feel like the activity calculator is slightly off.
btw I created this acc in January 2015 when I discovered bitcoin. Found mining was pointless, quit, found bitcoin again and became what I am today. Smiley
Surprising thing was, I went from junior member to member in just a few post. That's how easy and exploitable the activity system is nowadays...
The easiest way to think about it is this: if you make 1 post a day every day, you will get 14 activity added every 2 weeks.  It doesn't matter if you make 100 posts a day, you will still get 14 activity added every 2 weeks.  The only exception to that rule is if you created an account a long time ago and haven't posted in a while.  You have "banked" your potential activity points.  Thus, you could potentially see a jump in status and more than 14 activity added to your account.  However, you can never go beyond the potential earned activity.

So, let's say you create an account today.  If you make at least 14 posts every 2 weeks:

Jr Member takes a bit over a month
Member takes about 2.25 months
Full Member takes about 4.25 months
Senior Member takes about 8.5 months
Hero Member takes about 17.25 months

That's it.  There are no shortcuts.  There is no gaming the system.

thank you I will follow your suggestions!

Was reading this thread noticing people that I would classify as spammers and was starting to get ticked till I saw this post. Grin
Pretty much sums up how blatant it has got and pretty sure it was a troll post but made a good point.

Lot of blame will go to the signatures but I think mostly it is members that fall into a few categories.
Signatures are obvious and believe Yobit is about to clean house and take a few people out of the system.

Find a lot of google translated posts in off topic that I do not report because I am unsure of how hard they are attempting to fit in.
They often keep it to one line because google translate is garbage at certain languages and can cause more confusion then help.

One part and I know I am neive when I say this,is people that come from third world Countries posting to make a bit of coin. I really have a hard time coming to terms with reporting people that are just trying to make a buck to have a better life. But I also recognize that my bleeding heart can only go so far before its rampant problem in the forum. So torn. Grin

in the future where regular people can use bitcoin casually signature spamming in this forum might not anymore work as their audience are not limited t this forum only.
gambling and bitcoin related sites may then need a marketing pro not just a forum poster to spread the word about them. it may not take too long so don't run out of patience.  Grin

Unfortunately, this is true. Some people just don't care about conversation and just spam. I would suggest to those people to get a real job out in the real world. It's a long process before your account is high enough in rankings to make decent money (unless you purchase an account).
I know one person here who are spamming in every thread, and trolling users with stupid answers and questions. Making new Post with stupid non-crypta themes or posting pictures. Some times all page is full of only her posts! And what we can do with such users? nothing  Embarrassed

Yes I know about this features, I do it only when it is critical. But what it will change? What kind of punishment they will receive?
Well for one, their post will be deleted(if it breaks any of the rules) and if they continue doing it, either a (3-60 days) temporary ban will be given or they will be nuked(all of their posts deleted+permaban) or they will be permabanned
Permabanning them won't always work. Install Tor and a create new account and they're back in the sig spamming business.

But at least permanent banning spammer will make that spammer to make a new account, then they can't spam again because low rank account can't earn money.

Good post. Most the points people seem to have are valid in their own rights. In a way it seems a catch 22. Now don't get me wrong. I'm not nor wouldn't question the rules, it's not my place and I agreed to it upon using the site. Bottom line is people are going to spam, scam and do whatever they can to make a buck. Unfortunately it's how the world works.

That being said, excessive spamming is given an incentive by allowing you to do more. Signatues, more advertising etc. It encourages you to post more, quickly. As a result it usually ends up in a lower quality of posts. This puts strain on the servers, the moderators etc and overall doesn't benefit the community much by forcing people to sift through information to find what may be relevant to them.

Just my two cents, but overall interesting help and hopefully it helps some of the newer users avoid account freezes.

yes the post is good...
but is it enough good to avoid spammer's spam?

Never. I've been around on the internet for 21 years now since my 14400 Baud. There will always be new ways to do this. 25 years haven't stopped it, a forums post certinaly won't. I think that's somewhat aside from the point though. I beleive the OP intention is to trying to point out better ways to have account restrictions lifted and being a positive force in the community at the same time.

I think if you want to rank up with posting but not by spamming, is just go to the section where are your very good and you have more experience on that chapter and start to post on that topics, like i am more in gambling so mostly i go and post in gambling section, and even when the match is going on i will post the comment on the running match details and some predictions of them, like this my post count is also going and it is not spamming, in between get some knowledge about bitcoin and check with some other section and check the thread topic and if you feel that you can join any conversation then try to post simple and in little words.

How do you exactly define a spam post specially from posters with signature campaign like me? I believe there is no definitive way to define such unless its a one liner post. But a reply up to 4 sentences for not to be labeled as spam is IMO way to high as an standard.
Any campaign manager would surely spot a spam post and besides they are only paying like 20 post max.
If a poster is only posting just to get paid from a signature campaign, then thats their problem as sooner or later they could be removed from their campaign. Anyone that is bothered with spam post could always chose to ignore such user.

By the way, isn't it that ranking up has to do with the time you spend in here and not depends on how many you have posted?

Sure you can define one liner posts.  Something such as "Great Post", "I agree!", "+1", etc.  Those are crap one liners... you don't see them near as much anymore as they lead to a ban.  But look at posts people have posted as little as "+1" saying they agree, and it really does nothing for thread.  It just is clutter.

Spam is based on content not the size.  I can think of fixing problems on hardware one line of anwser might fix some problems.  It's helpful, fixed a problem, and less then 4 sentances.  So 4 line rule is not 100 percent.

If you really want to look at "spam" go over to the off-topic board.   I avoid it as it's full of it.  Things like last song you listened to, last thing you ate, last thing you drank.   Off-topic is where you will find a ton a crap posts (and yes there are some good).  But there is a lot of spam in that board, which is why good signature campaigns don't even pay for Off-Topic.

1) I suggest more then a quick glance.  I read this thread before posting.  I you skim it... your kinda looking to spam in my eyes. It creates lot's of confusion or other things if you skimmed (unless were talking huge amount of pages, say some miners with 100+ pages it is impossible to know all of it).

2) This forum is a place to learn, teach, and make business deals.  If your goal is to be controversial.... your looking for a fight. It sounds like a lot of the off topic crap posts. One could say your looking to spam a battle back and forth about something.

3) It is only one I agree with.  One liners and one sentence posts are crap for most part.  If you have a question or problem explain it with details.  There are some a single sentence might do,but most wont.

So 1/2 I'm not a huge fan seem like ways to get posts and possible spam.  3. Is better and a little bit more common sense.

This topic itself is a possibility to spam for spammer.
I tomorrow I want spamming...I will open a topic about "spam" and my signature will be seen often often often...

So in that way, every single thread has the possibility to spam for spammer. That is what being discussed here, that the spammers should not be let to do this anymore.

Mostly, people make alts asking same stupid questions again and again of which answers are already available out here...
So, if you think that you can rank up without "spamming", it is obviously possible, it's just that don't speak the "things already told once in that thread"...
We have example here at beginner section. I don't see the reason to reply simple question many times with same answer. Once the question got answered the op not lock the thread and make people spam over it.

i don't think that those that are shit postin  will ever look to this thread, some of them are even bot, so don't bother with that it's the moderator job to seek them and ban them

since i'm looking costantly at every thread here, i can guarantee that there are at least 50% alt of the same users, that are talking with each other

there are always some topics and some boards that are full of spam... is a sort of natural plague in this forum difficult to beat.
I have see at least a couple of bots in press and another in off topic section... I think that an "open" forum couldn't fight correctly against spammer....

Permabanning them won't always work. Install Tor and a create new account and they're back in the sig spamming business.
If you haven't figured by now, admins are smart(er). IP is not the only evidence they look for, once they are on someone's tail. And TOR is not completely anonymous as some like to think

Very good summary.

This is the best point. Unfortunately, most users not care about real controversation.

Use the report to moderator feature, lower right corner of the post  Roll Eyes
Yes I know about this features, I do it only when it is critical. But what it will change? What kind of punishment they will receive?
Well for one, their post will be deleted(if it breaks any of the rules) and if they continue doing it, either a (3-60 days) temporary ban will be given or they will be nuked(all of their posts deleted+permaban) or they will be permabanned

Reporting posts to the mods doesn't exactly rank up your account, but I've heard that having a high number of reports with high accuracy has been known to lead to an invitation to have moderator privileges.

that sounds good. I will keep an eye on those spammers and will report to mods if i see some.

Just today I came across a spammy reply to my post, which was not at all related to my post.. He was a newbie...
I am also quite new but I don't like spamming...
You ought to report the post to the mods here, then.  You can help to clean up spam by doing so.  As much as I try to always be on topic (sometimes it's hard not to cross-talk), I've had plenty of my own posts zapped.

Yes, those are helpful suggestions except "reading the entire thread" when you're in a thread with 600 pages just isn't practical most of the time.  You'd never earn a dime in a sig campaign and no one's going to do that.

I have another suggestion:  Write good English, Spanish, Chinese, or whatever language it is that you're supposed to be using.  There are a lot of sig campaigners who try to write in English and fail miserably.  The result?  No one gives a fuck about their posts and they get nuked for sig spam.  I don't want to hear shit about "____ isn't my first language".  Cry me a river.

Yes. Reading all the thread with 600 pages is not essential, the important thing to understand is the topic on which those 600 pages have been posted, if someone understands the topic on which everyone else is talking then he/she will be able to share his constructive thoughts about that particular topic and that won't be counted as spamming i guess.

When you write well, you get noticed.  Remember that uber-troll MPOE-PR that used to post on bitcointalk?  He/she was bloody brilliant.  If you've never read something by that person, the level of writing (and trolling) was superb.

I have seen many users posting short sentence replies just to add to their post count. Some are driven by greed to earn from more posts which are meaninglessness. Someone who has been on bitcointalk for a long time knows the rules and therefore should have constructive posts. All users need to read this thread so that all of us can contribute positively to this forum.

You are right, i have also seen many users doing the same for a higher rank, posting in threads without knowing anything about the topic and starting new threads with meaningless questions, just to increasing their post count or activity count.
It's definitely an issue this board has.. I started a thread in the Meta discussion section about this issue. Postloop has a rep system that helps prevent spamming. I think that something like that should be implemented here, but so far not everyone can agree with a solution.

hmm agreed. There sure should be something that could stop people from spamming on the forum, obviously no one will stop just by telling, if some of them get a ban then others will stop automatically.
