The guide line is the most effective adherence to these ideas of forum participation cards can easily prevent scams a good purpose determines a good team and good strategy to go to market.

Yes, that's the main purpose of having a community, in this thread you can do your own research using the various tools above. If, one day you find a project that is "suspicious" you can try to verify by your self, but if with the tools mentioned in the OP does not succeed in making you successfully verify, try to visit the scam accusation board. Vice versa, if the scam board is not found, try to research with the tool mentioned by the OP. If you are not sure with the results, you can stop to follow that project.

Thanks for the good topic, we, the beginners should know this information, there are many scammers in the virtual world and it would be easy for you to get scammed if you don't have any idea about fake websites. Beginners are the common victims of those scammers because they know that they are still new and they don't have good experience yet.

The common things that I am usually doing when I am going to try a website especially an investment/trading website, I will read first some reviews about it and I also checks its official website.

There are also good topics about this:

Not sure if you've missed reading "my previous post" but you might want to consider removing those websites from the list.

In addition to my previous post, the following websites no longer have a purpose for the list:

That project is already suspended.

Nice work. I want to add to your list a few extra searches and also other useful tools: www.icoethics.com/tools
"icoethics" is no longer accessible to the public since it's password protected and no one can create an account on their website.

Since the creation of this topic, it remains relevant for everyone. After all, every day we see that scammers publish new scams instead of disclosed fraudulent schemes. A very useful Guide not only for Newbie, but also for all forum participants.

This website will also show you how many % match with your original photo. URL and photo upload both are allow.
You can also try "Cloud Vision":
- Apart from checking duplicate pictures, it also helps with extracting texts from images [and few other things...] (useful for checking plagiarized content in whitepapers that are made from images/screenshots only [instead of a normal PDF format]).
It appears the above two services have altered their system (no longer suitable for finding duplicate pictures [you might want to remove them from the list]).

I found good tools to compare similarity picture. This tool is good for members who have a coding skill. Check this out:

Demo version:

I can't explain too much about this, because currently I do not really understand to use this tool. I hope other members can give explanation about this tool later.

Thank you very much for doing this for us. This is very helpful and I have bookmarked it. I can quickly run a few of these checks and pick up the scam quickly without wasting time. No more wasted time on bounties, trying to figure out of they real or not. This will eliminate most of them probably. At least half. I also think you should add that you should whois the website of the accused to check for things like a domain registration that is ending soon. A real team will never have a domain that will expire anytime soon and you will be shocked to see how often this happens with scam websites. They domain flip all over the place. I get very suspicious when a project claims to want to stick around but their domain expires next week?

You deserve some merits but I have none to give Sad silly merit system.

This is a great thread - I think investors should all have their own must follow steps every time they see an ICO that is interesting, follow a couple links, check for copied content, check for fake or edited team members, etc, etc

If the photo was edited, then always less confidence. You can check how the photo was edited.

http://imageedited.com/
Thanks mate. Saved this link, I've only used google images search back in the past to check for fake/stolen team photos.

I don't have a specific tool I use, but more so a piece of advice -  A lot of ICO's nowadays use fake advisors, and they often put random advisors there that actually have nothing to do with the project. Google and find the advisors, and if you can't find if they are involved in the project, DM them if your bothered, or just give up and assume it's a scam.

Hey do you have methods to share to deal with AI created faces like what the user a few post above mentioned? Thanks.
No, still I have not find any kind of tools for detect AI created faces. It's a bit difficult to identify since it's really look like real picture. But we could identify few face by using our brains. There is few common mistakes on the picture because I have tried and investigated it. 80% picture have few common mistakes and I don't like to expose it. Because may be scammer would misuse it and they would aware. So create few face then zoom it and investigate deeply. Hope you will found something wrong.

This one also good tools for checking both plagiarism and duplicate image. Support till 1000 characters for plagiarism checker or by upload file with .docx/.txt format, then for the duplicate image you can check by upload an image or enter the image URL.

HEY. What should I draw conclusions from the data? ICO :https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5037197.0 . A team of 4 people. Linkedin link in one does not work. I did not find the rest with the help of the listed tools. What with the rest? can it be that there is not a single mention in the networks? or are they real? And if they are real people, then what about the last-fake?

Hey, I see that you are searching for a quality content that will encompass all the necessary steps required for launching an ICO in practice. Online articles and tutorials seem very inconsistent and impractical, however if you’d like to REALLY comprehend what ICO stands for, and how to get involved with it, please go to https://coinpoint.net/ico-guides and you will be able to take a glimpse at the proficient step-by-step Guide for ICO Launchers & Investors.

In addition to the tools you mentioned, let me add one more. It is wayback machine.

Basically, this site allows you to look how a web page looked in the past. Suppose we have a new scam project at abc.com and they claim 100% daily returns on every investment. Now they keep changing their terms quite often on their website to lure more people. You can catch them with this tools. Similarly, you can check other suspicious activities like frequent change of teams for the project on their site.

Whoa this is awesome! I rarely have the time to browse the forum and this would really help determine which bounty to join. I also noticed that COINECT and XEONFRAME are proven scam thanks to you and these sites. Would it be too much if i'd ask you to check KONIOS as well? It's also a Wapinter managed campaign and i'm really scared considering how much time i've been here.

Thanks! Much appreciated!

There's no need to waste time looking for all of them. I can tell it just by looking at the website and its presentation. If the website looks like it is made by a 5 year old with tweaked WordPress themes, then you know what that means. But if its quite good then I dug deeper into each of the member's profile for red flags. If there's none getting caught red handed, I still don't invest in their ICOs without getting enlisted in exchanges first.

I am a simple dude. I find any legitimate tokens on exchanges, I trade. Wink

It's great to hear that you are much expert regarding ICO. I appreciate your idea. Actually the reson of this post , I have caught some ICO recently with fake team. Then many people asking me how to find. So I thought to share that process how I found. It's not for investor only, it's help for bounty hunters also. I am also same to you. Even legit ICO I am not much interested to invest. But some time it's happened and I have never loss any ICO. Currently most of ICO is scam or can't reach soft cap. So better avoid now.

Recently most of scam ico use fake team from google or some other website and stock image. I have found multiple scam ico with fake team. Also other member found the same case.
Fake photo use means scam. Because they don't want to come on front. How they will come ? They had planed for scam. Actually no team is there just one or two persone create a website for token sale and stolen money from market. Those I will find with fake team I will mark them a pure scam. I don't care what is on their mind.
Check this link for Example : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ongoing-scam-ico-list-eosgas-scam-be-aware-update-040818-4467496

thanks a lot

Not only thanks but also you can help forum by searching fake team picture. Alone no one can prevent scam. Every one should try to research and share on forum. Specially those are ANN and bounty operating from bitcointalk. It's more important that help forum members first as we are a family. If work together we can reduce scam from forum.
