I had good experience with Xeon E5 268v3 ... It's the bang that you are looking for just not the buck probably... Not a cheap processor

I’m building a 6 card rig and want to add a quality CPU for mining

What’s  best bang for buck CPU everyone would recommend here and OS

What hardware are you using for such hashrates? My R9 280x are getting 1000h/s :/ On 15.7.1 drivers... I feel like this is a bad hashrate?
Modded RX cards can do 1600-2100H/s depends on cards, memory quality and timings.

XMR is more profitable than Aeon via whattomine.
XMR 3700h/s 5.47$/day
Aeon 7400h/s(as you say, Aeon hashrate doubles XMR) 4.25$/day.
Yeah it is now, but it changes every day, the AEON diff is changing a lot.
I also like SUMO it's almost same profitable as Monero sometimes better, I've update my Monero guide with that. In november it will be probably even better, because it will increase block reward from 32 to 36.5 SUMO.
For AEON hashrate you can CPU mine, for example G3930 is giving 130H/s for 1 thread that helps a lot. If you have some bad ass CPU your hashrate will be amazing, even if you go for Pentium you might probably have something between 150-200H/s per thread.

Great work! Using R9 280x's to mine it. Anyone could help with the settings? Since there is no readme with the miner. Worksize and stuff...I'm getting best hashrates on worksize 8...
If you run AEON-STAK 2.0 it will auto suggest config. Try to play with intensity and use 2 threads.

Interesting very nice Job, will try that on my Rig later this Day. never heard of AEON Wink
It seems like good coin, only need more developers to implement all those good things.

I understand that but like i said i have been mining it for 10ish hours and not even a pending payment
Is your wallet ok in config? What pool? I like this one: https://aeon.hashvault.pro/

I've been mining over night using 2 cpu's and an RX 480
Code:
Pending Balance: 0.000000000000 AEON
 Total Paid: 0.000000000000 AEON
Last Share Submitted: less than a minute ago
 Hash Rate: 3.32 KH/sec
 Total Hashes Submitted: 127619793

This ever going to pay out?
It need to mature.
with my 4 x Vega rig, i get insane 15000h/s but every share will be rejected by the pool!
Why? What miner are you using? Did you try change pool?

Yes, you can say that hashrate is two times higher for GPU and four times for CPU than with Monero.

Depends on cpu characteristics. For my xeon 2696v3 18 cores: 950h/s for xmr, 3450 h/s for aeon.
You may see some results here:

Those are very nice benchmarks I will add the link to your post

I got about 1600h/s with a 1080Ti = 0.6 per day, is this right?
Yes, I have similar results. Aeon is more cpu friendly than monero.
With ryzen you may reach 2400h/s, with a threadripper 1950x a bit under 4000h/s.
With a xeon 2696v3, I reach 3450h/s (with the bios hack enabling all core turbo).
I suppose rx vega could reach 4000h/s (I thing I have read some results like this but can't find them again).

The ratio cpu Hash/ gpu hash is a little higher for aeon than xmr.

On this miner's github page it says a 1700X gets 560h/s or is that for monero? So you get 4x the hashrate with CryptoNight-Lite vs CryptoNight?
