There is trouble abrewing
Thank to all that warned me, I feel I learnt a lesson.

thanks for running this trial and also sharing the results with the public for free. i am sure your loss saved a lot of people from buying into the bot advertisement and sustaining similar losses.
losing 30% in the bull market (price is 48% higher than the start of the experiment) that didn't have any unpredictable moves is really odd.

Alright, Last update.
After 2 months of test this is my conclusion :

Arkane is GREAT to lose and spend your money.
If i didn't already have a wife I would marry Arkane she does all the same.
Fuck me and take my money !

(joke's aside, yes i am salty, I lost a bunch of money !)

Summary of events :

I got my 3rd liquidation on the 26th of January !!!
My account got liquidated and lost another 30% (again !)
It is the 3rd time it loses 30% in 2 months

I started at 0.15btc  on 1st December

Then it became  0.12btc on the 6th of December

Then it became 0.09btc on 25th of  December  (merry xmas !!)

And now 0.06btc on 26th December.

Today is the 1st of February and I am puling the plug !

Thank to all that warned me, I feel I learnt a lesson.

Hopefully no one else loses money with this "Bot" shit.

Ok so it has been another 15 days. - total is 45 days ( with 2 weeks of bot being offline)
I told myself I would put more regular updates but "eh, c'est la vie !"

So, I am still at loss.
It looks like the bot is making small gains today with the massive movement of BTC.

And this is the trading since day 1

After 45 days of trading my account is 34.5% down
The loss is -BTC 0.05189166 (= $446.88 with BTC @ $8.6k  )

Gabriel talks of new bots and of a platform that will offer different profile of investing and different strategies.
I am not yet sold, I'll stay in my trial for a little longer, hoping that the loss will be reduced in the next few months.

look at these entries on the 24th---doubling down every 0.075-0.1% drop and then liquidating after 1%! and when it does actually profit, it closes the positions only 0.2-0.7% in profit!
What you don't actually see from the list of trades... is that the Stop-Loss actually belongs to an earlier trade.... namely, the ones the bot made around 5 and 6pm on the "23rd" in guigui371's screenshot... ie. at the $7604.5 and $7558 level for quantities of 446 and 215.

So, the stop loss of $7238 was actually some $320-370 away from the initial trades (about 5%)... and that seemed pretty reasonable... it was sitting on a tiny 1% loss for around 12 hours after the market dropped down to around $7300.

Unfortunately, what then happened was the bot went full retard and put in a massive trade (some 12 hours after the original stop loss was set), when the market was only $70 from the original stop loss... and didn't adjust that original stop loss... so, when the market moved 1%, the original stoploss got triggered and EVERYTHING got liquidated Undecided Roll Eyes

I had very similar results to the OP: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53474723

Basically, imho, the bot was/is "broken". I would not recommend that anyone put money into this bot (or "The Platform"™). Tongue

it looks to me like a poorly constructed martingale entry system. the risk/reward on each trade seems incredibly low.

look at these entries on the 24th---doubling down every 0.075-0.1% drop and then liquidating after 1%! and when it does actually profit, it closes the positions only 0.2-0.7% in profit!

the bot needs to be re-coded to let its winners run. as it stands, it's basically designed to lose money. whoever coded it is not an experienced trader.

Ok so it has been exactly 1 month.

Find some screenshot and Csv of my bitmex account.

As per 1st post, I started with 0.15BTC (two deposits, so don't look at the -78%) on the 29th of november.
Gabriel has been easy to talk and exchange outside of this site (I mainly used telegramme to communicate with him).

firstly, the dashboard of my bitmex (coinmarketman website).

After 29 days of trading my account is 39.10% down

Now this is the visual of the size of my account.
I don't know why it doesnt show 24th to 29th of december :/

And below the trade history (again, it looks like 24th to 29th are missing).
Beware that when the bot is not doing anything, it opens a tiny loss position (like losing 5 cents) to not be dormant.
So the stats are biased against it.
Like Out of the 24 trades identified by coinmarketman there are 3 winning trades and 2 losing trade.  19 trades are just a day without a trade (but counted as a loss).

Now for the Bitmex informations :

We have the same balance of 0.0093BTC making a 0.0587 loss.

So the bitmex history show no activity since the 24th of december.
Hence the above visuals are also empty.

I guess what is of interess of you is the order history, and the bot being liquidated.
Find the last order executed on my account :

Finally find the full CSV order of my account.
It is a csv file, nothing malicious.
https://filebin.net/wmlwm8qwuh8w52vc
The file will be available for 1 week, but I have it on my computer and can reupload if needed.

I will seek more information about why is the bot sleeping since the 24th,
I know for a fact that Gabriel is working on a platform where users can chose between 3 or 4 bots, and also users have refferal links where they get a share of the 30% tax from the profit from their referees.
And also that the 30% tax only applied if the account is in profit.

In my case, he told me that if i move to the new platform, i would get a tax credit and will only start being punctioned for my profit once my balance is back above 0.15BTC

Well, this is my story.
To be continued.

Thanks for this excellent thread,

I started following Cryptosparks' bots more closely after about 3 months of no one coming up with negative results, and some experienced BTT members deciding to stake their personal capital.

It's also a great opportunity for Gabriel to both showcase his strategies and learn from mistakes.

Trading systems on high volatility instruments where the average losing trade is greater in magnitude than the winner always lead to asymmetric risks for the investor that are hard to control...

One inherent difficulty for Bitmex and algorithmic strategies is that you want to be closing losing positions fast and very frequently on a volatile product like the XBT perpetual contract, and yet crossing the limit orders incurs high commissions in leveraged trading on Bitmex;

therefore more advanced strategies are required...

I hope your balance recovers back to overall profitability soon.

Good Luck

If people want, I could share some csv files from bitmex to show the type of trades the bot is doing. ( probably not the full history as this could be seen as breach of trust with bot owner if people can retro engineering the bot from the orders ...)

Feel free to share every kind of data, i also have 0.1 BTC bounty and nice job offering for everyone that proves to have successfully reversed engineered the bot.  Wink

thanks for doing this dude - really hope you pull off a decent profit here and I do hope that the bot vendor uses these real datapoints for selling his service moving forwards.

Update 1st of Februray :
I pulled the plug. 3 catastrophic losses in 2 months.
Each loss reducing balance by 30%.
Starting point : 0.15 BTC, ending point : 0.0659BTC
People were right, I was stubborn !
Arkane is SHIT !

The idea of this thread is inspired from HCP's experiment. See disclaimer at the end of my message.

Backstory:

I was lurking on some board I usually don't go much and found the thread about the Arkane bot and after reading quite a few pages I was confused between this being a genuine great deal or an attempt to scam.

I did look at the numbers, the unfamous "test" bankroll of 100 Btc being transformed in more than 800Btc in less than 2 years.
The bot is advertised as having a ROI of more than 700%, this is too good to be true, but in a few years in crypto I have learnt that trading can be profitable and with a good strategy huge payouts are possible.
Well, I decided that I would try by myself. I would make abstraction of the OP writting that an API is like a private key.  I would also turn a blind eye (for now) on the Red flags, and red trust that the OP has.

I would either lose a little bit of money, or make a little bit.
I initially had in mind to put 0.075 but then decided to go with 0.15BTC.

Initial Setup:

I contacted CryptoSparks on telegram (reminder : it is always recommended to contact members through the PM of the forum. It is easier then to prove messages exchanged).
I tried to negotiate to get the VPS fees for free, he turned me down. No hard feeling, the fees are 9 euros. Paid directly to the VPS provider.

My one month trial started on the 29th of November and I am all set up until the 29th of December.
It took one day for the first trade to be executed.

The purpose of this thread (similar to what HCP has done ) is to share my experience with the performances of the Arkane bot, from an initial deposit  of 0.15BTC... I'll be reporting updates with Bitmex account screenshots. Data can be freely used by anyone for any purpose (see disclaimer at the end)

Current Results:

Daily Results:

Overall Results:

After 6 days of trading my account is 20% down... The loss is 0.03BTC = 224US$ ( 10$ for VPS fees to be added, total loss is $234).

For this month, I have deducted the VPS. However, if the bot carries on with good results, it is possible that the commission I pay for December will allow me to have the VPS fees waived for January (If i renew my trust in the bot).

The numbers that are bold size 11 are the numbers updated at the 6Rd december - Bitmex date.

NOTES:

HCP wote the following, and the same applies to me. (I am UTC + 12).
- Deposit was made on Nov 29, but Bot was only setup and running on Nov 30th in my timezone UTC+13.

- It seems there is something wierd in the display of dates by BitMEX... today is Dec 2nd UTC+13, so not sure how BitMEX is already in Dec 3rd??!? Huh Huh Huh

- I am aware that some users DO NOT have to pay the VPS fee due to special promo's and deals... I am NOT one of those users, nor does it appear that this deal is currently available (I asked when signing up), so the VPS fee will be included in all my calculations until such time that the "$50 monthly commission == Free VPS" rule kicks in.

- I have been advised that there are likely to be a few minor 0.000000xx BTC "losses" incurred from time to time due to a problem with the BitMEX API. My understanding of this problem is that if you don't trigger the API at least once in a 24hr period, it can become unresponsive and "freeze", meaning that the bot will no longer be able to function properly. The end result is that on days when the Bot is not trading, there needs to be a small instant "buy/sell" type trade just to keep the API "active". Again, this is my interpretation of the issue and probably a bit oversimplified, so I apologise for any inaccuracies.

Going forward, I will  try to post the results of my account so we have some more empiric data to call the bot a "yay" or a "nay" HCP is also doing the same in a separate thread.

Quoting HCP here, but I am basically in the same situation.
Also, I should point out, that I am a complete novice idiot when it comes to trading... I have no idea about margins, positions, leverage etc... The limit of my knowledge and trading has been at the level of "lets buy some BTC at $X... lets sell some BTC at $Y"... hopefully with X < Y! Tongue Wink So, don't be expecting any in-depth market analysis or pretty charts with lines drawn all over them claiming to predict the next pump or dump... it'll basically be some screenshots showing daily and overall results with the basic calculations of GROSS and NET profit as above Wink
Don't expect me to do some in depth analysis.
If people want, I could share some csv files from bitmex to show the type of trades the bot is doing. ( probably not the full history as this could be seen as breach of trust with bot owner if people can retro engineering the bot from the orders ...)

Disclaimer regarding this experiment :
At this stage. i do not endorse the OP.
I have put some money that I understand i can lose.
I am not an alt of the Op, I am not being paid by the OP, I don't even get the free VPS from the OP.
I am not sharing my "referral" link
I am not advising people to join, people should read the entireity of the thread as well as HCP's one too !
I'm just reporting my journey, and be assured that if the bot start to make losing trades, I will also report them here.
I do not believe I will get a 800% ROI. [/b]

Special thanks to HCP that allowed me to use his layout to format my thread.

I will update my original message with up to date data.
I will also keep an archive version of my 1st message unedited.
