I am quite bullish on MUNT, the entire supply is only worth 88 bitcoin and the inflation is only 25 coins per block every 2.5 minutes, this dropped from 160 per block in the last 2 years. This is the same block times as litecoin and litecoin has 12.5 coins per block. Munt has far better blockchain innovation compared litecoin and litecoin has a $5.2 billion marketcap.

The main problem for this coin is accessibility for the average person trying to invest in crypto. Why is it difficult for blockhut to plug into the exchange API like many other services to buy coins directly off the exchanges?

I respect Malcolm and Rijk because they keep Munt - Gulden going with all the bad bear markets. A lot of coins I invested in the devs and founders have run off, no matter how bad the price is this team keeps going and gives users more trust.

We lost Roels and Patrick skills or they could of helped with blockhut to buy coins direct off bittrex but maybe one day we get more people with those skills. They weren't part of the Gulden team but made a nice service called Nocks. This was the glory days of Gulden.

Gulden is in a bear mark since 2017. The last time a bull run was starting along with the other alts the 2nd dev reward announcement was made the community and traders dumped.

The price is so low that anything under 20000 coins it will be easier to delete your wallet and forget about the 12 word keys to your wallet. 20000 Munt is worth 90 rolls of toilet paper in the Netherlands.

This is one of the best moves this team has made and I have been critical in the past because outside of the outstanding development the coin fails miserably in creating awareness. At 10x from these fiat prices the coin is still stupidly undervalued but limited easy buying options that influence exchange rates and volumes is a obstacle Rijk and this community must overcome. The blockhut service does not influence the price of the coin and no other coin swapping services like changelly is available.

I like the idea of a Gulden NFT on the MUNT blockchain.

Can MUNT be added to bitcoinmeester? I used to buy Gulden on this site.

Important note:

Gulden has been rebranded to Munt, The Gulden name will be used as NFT (to be released early next year) on the Munt blockchain.

I will be updating the OP with the Munt links as they become available.

Started mining this coin last month and it's user friendly, have also encouraged others to give it a go.

One question about witnessing,  can you remove the Gulden if you need to get access to it?

Hi DeFriesland,

You not able to withdraw your Gulden once it has been locked into a witness account, if you unsure you can reduce the duration you witness for. Just bear in mind that your weighting is determined on your duration and amount you witness with.
Think of a witness account as a fixed deposit account in a bank where you earn interest for locking your funds away for a period of time.

EG.
A witness account with 50 000 coins for 3 years will earn you more rewards then 50 000 coins for 1 year.

The minimum time you can have a witness account is 3 months and the maximum is 3 years.

This is good info, thank you Rijk. The btc payments within the wallets was the hands down my favorite thing about Gulden. Keep up the good work!

Hi Bram,

Good question and a question you are more than welcome to ask on the Gulden slack #GAB channel as you will get feedback from the wider community and the GAB representatives can also comment.

Will also try explain the current situation:

Due to the implementation needing to be required on blockhut their was no need for the GAB to be involved unless funding was needed directly from the community. Currently the development reward is not covering the costs associated with Gulden. Please refer to the following link
https://centure.com/maintaining-gulden/

15000 Euros per month requires a price of slightly more than 1.3 Euro cents and when the block reward halves in 3 years it will be 2.6 Euro cents + inflation

Our costs -- What is not mentioned on the site is Gulden has 2 additional contract developers. 4 in total at this stage.

Two full-time blockchain developers for applications Web development and graphic design
Servers and hosting
Security
Development
accounts for applications
Software and font licenses required for development and graphics
Communication software
Administration
Legal

Back to your question:

Portion of the bitvavo funding has been used to hire an additional developer. The community had mixed reactions to this as Gulden also needs the funding for additional exchanges and / or payment processor services. While I would love to have the btc (+other crypto options) payments available
through the wallets straight away this is the current reality.

A sustained price of 2 Euro cents is required, the higher the price the more can be done.

I also encourage people to look up average blockchain developer salaries to get an idea of the costing when it comes to development.

I liked this ability to pay at bitcoin merchants, what if the community decided to use some of the bitvavo funding to pay the developer to have it added?

Posted in the Gulden slack earlier:

From Waterloodown:

Morning all, I have some news on a personal note and also had a chat to Rijk about implementing a great feature we once had in the wallets. First on a personal note, I have managed to arrange dedicated time to Gulden again like
I did between the years 2014 and 2018. Gulden has a special place for me and I certainly want to do my part to see it succeed.

Regarding the chat with Rijk and since it's more a blockhut development, it's not something the GAB needs to be directly involved with.

I will first explain the feature for new users to Gulden.

In the past we were able to use our Gulden wallets to pay at bitcoin merchants. It gave Gulden usability and it meant every time a online retailer or commercial store added bitcoin as a payment option
it increased our available payment options. It also gives Gulden international appeal, in South Africa Malcolm and I used the feature a few times to purchase goods, coffee etc. At the end of the month I would rebuy
the Gulden I spent.

Near me I have a coffee shop called caloroso ( https://www.caloroso.co.za/ ) which accepts bitcoin, the owner was super impressed when I made payments with Gulden and the speed at which the transactions were actioned.
It became a talking point and made it really easy to get some locals to buy Gulden because their was some usability and not only an investment.

Why was this feature removed?

When Nocks became an exchange they were no longer able to support this feature which was unfortunate but we in a position where we can bring it back.

Requirements for blockhut.

Gulden will need a sustained price of around 2 cents for 4 months and the feature will be implemented in the mobile and desktop wallets within 2 month thereafter. A 6 month process because development, infrastructure, homepage etc costs
still need to be taken care of and then paying a developer to implement this for Gulden. Malcolm has the core code used previously which will require some changes and we have a developer that can sort out the API
for the wallets.

Rijk has made this commitment to me if the value of Gulden can be sustained and I think it's a great reward to look forward too, Once bitoin is working, other usable cryptos can be implemented.

No one expects the price of 2 cents overnight and please don't feel pressured into buying Gulden due to the above as I still believe in slow and steady growth that can be maintained.

I would like to hear from others what they think about the above and if it's a feature they would use.

NFTs on the Gulden blockchain

Gulden goes back to the essence of the NFT, which will make it easy to understand for everyone and especially easy to use. Both creating and trading. We are going to apply this in a way that is unique, but at the same time incredibly logical. The power lies in its simplicity. In addition, this development was chosen because it has a very large marketing component. Of course, we’ve been working on the technology for years and now it’s time for marketing. With this project we hit both. Not even so much because of the “NFT hype”, but because the promotion component is already automatically included. Of course, that will become a lot clearer once we announce more about this application.
