You are best leaving it on 24/7. Easiest way is if you have an Aws free tier instance. If you have not got it, if you have a credit card, you can sign up with no charges as long as you stick to 1 free tier package.
Grab the Windows 2012 (I think) free tier (12 months).
Unblock all ports in the security settings when you are going through the setting up.
Then copy paste the wallet there, keep a back up of wallet.dat
It will run and run.
Recombine coins every couple of weeks as the stakes split in half (just get a new address, and send to yourself)
If you want to use the net, forget IE, it is a nightmare. Use it once. Go to Google.com .. you will be asked many times if you wish to continue as more and more unknown sources start to load (like ads, tracking, loads of stuff). Just keep clicking Yes, to add them to your trusted sources.
