Government Subsidy is not a profit.  That is robbing one person to benefit another.

Government subsidy is the last thing we need in Bitcoin.

As to make a profit in Bitcoin one would have to mine and hold the coins until they increase in value.  But that is hard to do with the amount of hardware required now.

isn't this in fact why such a huge amount of the hash power is in china, free or nearly free subsidized electricity?

It might be the case that hardware are getting costly now a days along with the electricity charges. The hash rate need be very much high to find a block. If you don’t find anything real soon after your set up then of course it is pain in the stomach to maintain the rig.

Am new to bitcoin, please guys what is actually required interms of system specs and knowledge to effectively mine bitcoins

ASIC-based miners took over Bitcoin mining years ago.
Don't bother even thinking about it on any non-ASIC device unless you like to generate lots of heat and wasted electricity for pretty much ZERO return.

For bitcoin yes, but if you mine altcoin you can make a profit Smiley

For you to mine Bitcoin in your house at this time will not make you any profit at all and worst you will eat up by the power consumption cost of your electricity.

And the hardware that will need to mine Bitcoin now is not that cheap, incase you but the hardware it will take you a year or 2 and maybe more to get your return of investments.

Much better and more profitable to mine altcoins nowadays and just convert it Bitcoins if you may.

Happy mining if you started early in but it is almost too hard to get a block nowadays if you just enter the scene because it is almost doubled the difficulty every month, happy to those who got budget in getting the best hardware to perform the greatest profit but for the small timers I think that is not happy at all.

Maybe since the mines are many owned, already promising to be mined and give more profit. Certainly very profitable once in between time to get a satisfactory mine and able to encourage daily income. So happy mining.. make a mines being big income at everyday . It's happened now to the more peoples.

Yes because mine is now a day job, and that's great fun, in addition to some very hobbies picking up the miner's machine, and that too will be their flagship weapon in mined bitcoin they will be able to on each day

According to a Videcardz press release, both companies plan to release a version of their cards to satisfy the market for graphics cards made solely for mining.
Nvidia says it will launch a GeForce GTX 1060 with GP106-100 GPU, a custom edition for mining. This card would have no display connectors and probably will not support any games. According to our sources, these cards, unlike the normal editions, would have only 90 days of guarantee.
An AMD spokesperson:
The gaming market remains our top priority. We are beginning to realize that there is a solid demand for our Polaris-based offerings in today's mining and gaming markets, based on the strong performance we are delivering.
Yeah they already realized that crypto mining is increasing its demand on their gpu thats why they decide to make up their own mining gpu solely on that purpose and its good to hear that they wont really leave behind gaming industry since they are really earning money on this field and now they are extending on new field on crypto. Good step for them.

It's difficult because of many factors that you face during the mining. The very first is difficulty of network is getting weird Day by day as the number of miners are getting added. What I mean is when you add new miner in the process you actually increase the competition of mining the block. So this is we called as increased difficulty of network. The more is the difficulty the more hashrate you need to perform the mining.

Besides these problem, the most influencing factor is electricity which is costly and you need a lot of it while mining. Because the ratio of cost to mining block must be such that you should be able to cover the charges and gain the profit as well. So many factors like this are in the way when you mine.

I know that for me and many members here mining's a fun, nerdy hobby. We're doing it because we still can and we try to balance our costs with our earnings.

But as an interesting fact, mining difficulty COULD go down. Who knows if it does in the future...
Some bitcoin users they do the mining for fun or get some money. There many mining sites that you can use to get free bitcoin. Also, I’m glad that there are mining sites who can give free bitcoin and them also help all bitcoin users who don’t have enough bitcoin in their wallet. If you want to mine bitcoin you need to wait longer time to gain that bitcoin.

mining ETH is the best

only with amd, nvidia have other much better option, nvida on ETH is bad minus the 1070 but it's underperforming compared to amd regarding cost/hash per gpu

dual mining can help but still amd in on top on that algo due to memory/bandwidth limitation form nvida side
