I am not demanding too much from Bitcoin and I am already done with wild predictions that Bitcoin can be $100K within this year or be worth millions many years from now (though it is good to hear those predictions and projections and can even be inspiring to hear). As for me, I would rather live on what Bitcoin can give to me and for now am wishing that it can be back to the $20K level and even if it will stay there for the rest of the next 6 months then I would not mind. Do you think that within the first quarter of the year Bitcoin can be back at the $20K level?

The first serious target and restitant point is $20,000 level in bitcoin price charts. You can make simple price analysis and you'll see my point. Bitcoin will try to pass that zone, if it does, we may taget further points on the chart.

Neutral I would say, but won't like if it stays there because I expect and I know it will grow even more and we will see it rise up. Its better to be stagnant for a few weeks as of now we can see, which boost the investors confidence and the newbies will be back, which will help it go up again as usual.

Yes, there is a chance for bitcoin price to climb to $20,000 in the next 2-3 months. Some people are just Fascinated about bitcoin and new comers would also invest in bitcoin regardless of the bitcoin situation. Due to such factors bitcoin price will easily recover in 2-3 months period.
I am also comfortable with  $20,000 for the next 6 month too. I have been following bitcoin price action and I seriously believe that after the current corrections bitcoin is going to be heading towards  $20,000 and I am going to sell my holding at that point. I don't think most of the price predictions are going to hold because we actually have a long way to go in resolving most of the hardfork issue we are having.
In all honesty, I am already happy with the price sitting above the $10,000 level, which is a pretty decent achievement. Of course, I wouldn't complain if we would hover at any levels higher than $20,000, but we also have to remain realistic. If we look back at how the price has gone up in the last months of 2017, it's pretty safe to say that the market was exhausted, and ran out of steam. People with high expectations are the one being disappointed now, and see the decrease from near $20,000 till where we stand right now as something rather negative. I only look at how much we gained, which is +1300%, and not at how much we have gone down from the peak. We have done extremely well, and we can look forward to much more candy this year. Smiley
That is no longer a problem, once the bitcoin lightning network is fully implemented the bitcoin price will start shooting to the sky again. Bitcoin price was down due to the recent bitcoin transaction problems, such as users paying high transaction fees and very slow transaction speed. thus, the lightning network is here to speed up the bitcoin transactions with ZERO fee. Very soon bitcoin will be back again faster and smoother than ever.

You're not the only one that thinks that way tom, we have the same feathers. There's a chance that bitcoin can be back again at $20,000 for this year since it has gone so far with it's recent drop. And currently with it's staggering movement there is a sudden pump that has just seen and there are news that Thiel is buying bitcoin so that is making another good pump.

Why do people feel the need to quote the entire OP including the picture? Roll Eyes

I am sure that if we reached the $5000 level as all time high, and ended up settling around $4000 like how we are now more or less settled around $14k, people would still be extremely happy. People don't understand how spoiled they have been with how the market has gone up last year. Due to that, people have been demanding for even higher increases while it wasn't realstic/possible to reach at all. It was clear to me that $20k was too much of an obstacle in the very short term, and especially so because of how the future markets were priced in already. The price increases in advance of the actual happening, which has been like that for years now....

I would be happy to see Bitcoin at 20k but it would be nicer if it did reach a 6 figure price line eventually. This isn't out of the question either considering gold marketcap is 8 trillion which would be 400k per bitcoin!

sideways around 20k for a long time is very plausible. The futures seem to have shut things down nicely

Of course everyone love seeing Bitcoin above $20k or even more, but no one can know if that will come soon again or not. We all have seen already that how unpredictable Bitcoin actually is, because we have seen it going insanely high in no time and seen it coming down in even less time than that. So predicting anything about it right now wont be wise as nothing would go according to your wishes or predictions. So we should just pray for good and wait for it to make us even happier in this year.

I agree with iamTom123. Bitcoin reaching greater heights would be fantastic and would definitely bring benefits to its users due to the outcome that would lead to profits. However, with its volatility, you can only just ask for so much that I would rather choose to settle for something more achievable. $20,000 is already a lot and I am happy that Bitcoin was able to reach that rate. Now that it's in the raange or $12,000 - $14,000 people can't help but feel that it's low when in fact it's somehow high compared to the rates Bitcoin had before it reached that height. We should all learn to be contented at some point because the volatility has its consequences. We can always aspire but we can only have so much. I am hopeful that it would have its $20,000 rate back soon.

to be honest i am much happier with a bitcoin with lower fee transactions and less drama. all of that can lead to more work done on actual things that matter like improving bitcoin and increasing the adoption of it.

but as for speculation, i can see $20,000 be reached by the end of January actually. there is nothing stopping it either. with all the altcoin pumps these days everyone is gathering as much money as they can to get ready for the bitcoin rally.

Its absolutely impossoble for bitcoin to stay stable at some value atleast until everyone around the world comes to know about it. Its been sometime that I have been into cryptos but trust me no one has ever been able to see bitcoin stable. You will see great depressions and boom everyday. But lets see if 20k is the limit for this quarter.

Well yeah i was also satisfied with $10k level since when i was know about bitcoin the price honestly is too cheap compare this year.
I was has so happy to see that the price still survive after the panic sell and the price still playing around $13k to $14k and hoping to see the price increased again soon.. I am happy to always see the price is increasing means to me that bitcoin is getting popular and more people are using it..
But there are competitors are gaining its popularity right now that i noticed this is will be a big competitors but we know bitcoin is always be the king so the position will be still the same this year,.
In bitcoin there are lots of possibility could be happen and sometimes surprise so if you are holding a good amount of bitcoin to be profitable better to sell them if the price is too high just to save your profit..
I hope this 2018 we will see a large price increase than 2017.

I am of a similar mindset in that I would be very happy for bitcoin to keep a static price, this is because I have other earning opportunities such as trading. They can sometimes be most profitable when bitcoin is stable. I think we will probably see bitcoin recover sometime in Q1 and probably then some slow and steady growth throughout the year.

"a whole 6 months".. lol.. only 6 months? I think it should go sideways around here for several years.
It surely can't happen anyway. Stable price for half a year sounds at least possible. I would also love it to stay that way if only transaction fees became lower (and if btc stabilizes around that price I believe that's what's going to happen, for people will finally calm down), because for me $30 at the price of $20k is too much.
I think we'll see btc at $20 in about a month from now, but unfortunately I don't believe that people will manage to lower down their enthusiasm about it and let the price stabilize.

Of course, I'm even happy seeing bitcoin at today's current price. And as what you have said, bitcoin has given us a lot of opportunity in 2017 although almost everyone thought that we can reach $20K at the end of the year.

As for the first quarter, I really think that we can reach another milestones at $20k. We are currently just above $13K and only a few thousands dollars before $20k. I'm sure that there will be a massive price increase this quarter specially if Lightning Network will be activated. So YES, I'm bullish to say that we can even surpass $20K in Q1.

I get where you're coming from but I think it's unlikely $20K will be a price point bitcoin will be able to maintain for a longer  period of time. I also would've liked it to stick a little bit longer around to $3-4K mark a couple of months back but only to gradually increase my share of bitcoin before heading towards the $10K mark and beyond. But if 2018 turns out to be the year of altcoins, altcoins are really flourishing again questionable how long this will last, we may see the bitcoin dominance coming down a lot more (25%) and the price being stuck at around $20K.
