I don't understand what all this means?
No halving?
I am also a novice, it seems that Fork Hard means there will be another version of the bitcoin was born, popular, maybe I understand that there is a mistake, someone to fix it?

it simply mean that you need only to upgrade your client like you do now with new version, that's it they will solve the capacity issue in another less invasive way

I'd be lying if I don't find their posturing amusing though. They cry about censorship and feed off drama, meanwhile r/buttcoin makes them look like fools.

American rich kids.. They have nothing to lose. China gave them the middle finger, now they cry about it.

lol so true. From an observers standpoint it does look like preschool kids throwing a tantrum because they can't get what they want right now.

From what I've read from the people on reddit, I imagine guys in their late teens or early 20's who still live at home with their parents and have a measly stash of bitcoin, some probably not even 1 bitcoin.

The whole place over there just reeks of unprofessional kids with shitty jobs.

It seems very obvious to me what they are trying to do. They first create a fictional problem (block size is too small) then they offer solutions (XT then Classic). This is the same classic technique that they have been using to obtain control over anything that would defy the status quo.

I cannot understand the urgency. There are many problems with the Bitcoin codebase that need to be addressed, this is merely one. There certainly have to be solutions that don't involve fracturing an entire ecosystem.

This is good news. Never understood why all the changes which are needed couldn't be made in the Core itself.

But is this for real?

yes good news.  I am also wondering if this is for real. If so, perhaps everyone can calm down  Huh

The loudest voices calling for block increases usually come from places like reddit, where lots of impressionable people gather to think they are "doing something" for Bitcoin. In the end, it is all just noise.

Bitcoin is fine, and still young. All these problems and challenges should be met with a clear head and lots of thought.

That is true. On reddit they're always coming in swarms and cry for their bigger blocks and that classic will be the game changer.
Lots of noise and it becomes less and less interesting reading over there.
Core is having the most talented devs who have contributed code for 7+ years.
Furthermore there is a roadmap for scaling out.So I don't understand what these yelling was done for. I guess it is a political reason.

That, and they don't realize they are being herded like cattle into spaces like that to suit the needs of their opponents. They even fight amongst themselves in the various cliques.

We will just have to see how it unfolds. It will be interesting, regardless.

I hope that we can stick to core. I don't want to pause mining and selling if I don't have to for this mess. I just got so scared for the longeat time when the fork

talk came out and Hearn scared me too. I am glad the shitstorms are cooling down.

No halving?

No this isn't related to the halving, it's about Bitcoin core having a hard fork and OP is assuming that the Hard fork isn't going to happen since Chinese Bitcoin miners have agreed to stick to Bitcoin core. There are lots of tweets about this, but I'm waiting for a statement from the miners themselves.
