Bitcoind on Harvestcoin has been upgraded to the latest release 0.8.3 to counter the recent DDOS attacks on Bitcoin network.

For Bitcoin mining point your miner to
http://mining.harvestcoin.com:9332 and use your Bitcoin address for username and anything for password.

why Payout if a block were found is 0 on your pool these days?

also can i run multiple cpuminer on different pc with the same Username and password from different pc's ??

Hi there,

The payout figure on the stats page is actually an indication of how much me, as the pool operator, will be paid if a block is found right now. As you can see it's been a while since I've received anything from running the pool.

If you're interested in finding out how much YOU will be paid if a block is found, click on the graphs page and find your address; if there is a thin line on the second graph below your address this means that you have a share accepted and it shows how much you will be paid when the block is found.

As regards your question on multiple cpuminers; yes, you can run multiple miners on different PC's and use the same username and password; your total hashrate will be calculated from the hashrate of each miner put together.

Hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions,

Ha, yeah we're screamin' along!  Smiley I guess Bitcoin mining on P2Pool has taken a hit over the last few weeks...hopefully it will go up again soon.

Litecoin mining is on the up though!  Wink

To all Litecoin miners on Harvestcoin;

Litecoind has been updated to version 0.6.9.1 on Harvestcoin to avail of the lower fee feature in the latest release. Keep a lookout for the general public release to upgrade your wallet.

To mine Litecoins on Harvestcoin point your miner to
http://mining.harvestcoin.com:9327 and use your Litecoin address as username and any password.

Indeed there is! If you're looking for some reading material, this is a great guide to mining on sites like Harvestcoin written by somebody on this forum, well worth the read.

It's LiR6rS9pjUJBx4Cbc5yg6ZCU95ywXoi7Ef, but I only tried it for a few hours.  I probably won't run it for long until I figure out how to raise my Hash Rate.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 and I have a Radeon Sapphire 7870.

I tried a vanilla cgminer command with no flags (except the server, login and --scrypt), and also tried a few other things I found posted in various forums:

-p 1234 --thread-concurrency 8192 -g 1 -w 256

I only got my hash rate above 20K when I put the --Intensity > 15.  Still seemed low.

Anyway, I'm going to keep learning.  There's so much to read!!! Smiley

I wouldn't worry about being new to it, I think we're all still learning!!  Smiley

When you mine on Litecoin your hashrate changes from Mh to Kh but I wouldn't expect it to drop that much...mining Litecoin is slightly different to Bitcoin on P2Pool so maybe use the default settings on your miner and not necessarily the flags that I gave you for Bitcoin...they work well with BTC but LTC is a different kettle of fish.

Whats your Litecoin address? I'll keep an eye on the stats for you and see if I can help anyway.

Thanks for the detailed reply, I'll give it a try.  I'm new to this and I'm mostly having fun learning.

Perhaps you can refer me to a good introduction to scrypt mining.  Should I be alarmed that my hash rate goes from 380M to 20K when I try litecoins?

There's tons of information out there.  I've been a little slow sorting through it.

Hi RangerK,

Due to the way P2Pool works I would try using these flags to improve performance :

./cgminer -o http://mining.harvestcoin.com:9332 -u xxx -p xxx -Q 0 -g 1 --intensity d --gpu-dyninterval 50

I know the general consensus on mining is get your intensity as high as you can go but with P2Pool it works better if you change it to dynamic, so I would give the above options a go and see how you get on.

Also, it is common for it to take some time to see payments come through on P2Pool, so give it a good 24-48 hours of testing before you make any decisions on it.

Just to make you aware, mining Bitcoin has become harder recently with the difficulty increases and P2Pool nodes are seeing some "bad luck" in the last week or so...not that I'm trying to discourage you, there's still lots of "dust" to make! ;-)

Here at Harvestcoin we have seen people migrating from Bitcoin to Litecoin as the "luck", difficulty and network hashrate is still very consistent and miners are getting consistent payouts. Again, I'm not trying to discourage you but I would just suggest you give things a go and if its not what you hoped for, you could try mining Litecoin on Harvestcoin instead.

Let me know if you need any further help.

Cheers,

Hi RangerK,

Thanks for trying Harvestcoin, appreciate it.

If you could give me more information about your mining setup we can try and get you mining more efficiently :

1: Which coin are you mining? We do Bitcoin AND Litecoin at Harvestcoin.
2: What miner are you using? I would suggest cgminer if you're not already using it; I can suggest some configurations which will help you mine on Harvestcoin.
3: What percentage of rejects are you getting? This could be a miner config issue, so the information you provide in number 2 above should help us sort that out.

The "Stratum from pool 0 requrested work restart." is perfectly normal on a pool such as Harvestcoin as it uses server side software called P2Pool and this is a standard message from this server; it does indicate any issue with your mining setup.

Thanks again for trying it and lets hope we can get you mining well.

F.

Certainly, and thank you for the prompt reply.

1. Bitcoin
2. cgminer with the following command:  ./cgminer -o http://mining.harvestcoin.com:9332 -u xxx -p xxx -I 15 --temp-cutoff 75
3. about 25% rejected

Newbie miner here.  I'm still figuring things out.

I love the simplicity of your website.  Beautiful.

After I connect, I get more rejects than accepted.  Is that normal?

Edit: also, almost constant "Stratum from pool 0 requrested work restart."

Have noticed a bit of a shift towards mining Litecoin on Harvestcoin. If you've traditional mined Bitcoin but are frustrated by the increase in difficulty, please feel free to try mining Litecoins at Harvestcoin.

Point your miner to :
http://mining.harvestcoin.com:9327 and use your Litecoin address as username and anything as password.

Stats for the pool can also be found at the above URL.

Thanks and happy mining!

Thanks for giving it a go...just be aware that when you're mining on P2Pool it is worth giving it a good 24 hours of mining with a decent hashrate to accurately see what sort of payouts you will get. The Litecoin P2Pool is finding blocks regularly so once you get a share accepted, you should payments coming through...just takes a bit of patience.

Cheers.

Thanks for your help. I'm sending my gpu miner to your pool for a while to see if my hasrate is too low.

Sorry, just realized that you were mining Litecoins, not Bitcoins...so just ignore the last part about the network difficulty...was thinking about Bitcoin there...but the other advice still stands.

Cheers!
