We all heard that every one looses at the end in gambling....yes we may win here and there...we may win some big amounts but overall in long term we always end up in loss....this is the story with me as well overall i am in big loss....
I just want to know is any one here in this forum who is in overall profit in gambling...
It's those who keep on playing will not be making profit in the long run (unless they are very lucky). There are a lot of people that have made profit and quit gambling. I am sure there are online casinos that show top users that are in profit. Also think about those lottery or mega jackpot winners. They are all in profit (unless they bought million dollar worth of tickets lol). But it's rare. That's why you don't hear much about them.

You will only take profit if you stop gambling once you got your winnings. But if you will continue playing, high likely that all your winnings will go back again to the casino. In my games, I am not in profit because I only stop when my bankroll is empty, but I only play small and not really after for the winnings. But when it comes to sporsbetting, I only bet what I feel has high chance of winning, so in this case I am hoping to win.

^ It is possible to have a profit but there is a big chance that you also will lose in gambling, that is why anyone advises gambling of what they can afford to lose. Gambling is not just an easy way to get profit because there is gambling that is based on luck which means, you can even beat the house edge. Sometimes gambling is an entertainment habit of me and I don't have a serious decision of making money on it. But one of my friends advised me that dont gamble and spend beyond 12 hours in online gambling because, beyond that, there is a high chance that you will lose upon beating the house edge.

I really like playing dice and I can be sure that the long term total of my bets is just a loss
but will I stop playing, the answer is no, I will continue to play dice even though I keep losing

why do you play if you are afraid of losing, bustadice makes the dice game more interesting
keep playing, because you don't know the jackpot that awaits you

You should set up a poll for this interesting question Everyone here in this forum has their stories on winning and losing, there are players who rely on luck and there are players who rely on their strategies or combined both, some players have made profits and some never and kept losing, in my experience, I am not in profit overall but I am not losing a lot either, I guess the most important here is keeping your losses where you are comfortable losing.
Agree on this one that there should be some pool so that at least we can picture out on who are on the earning side and who are into those losing side in gambling but pretty sure that majority will really be in negative because theres no such thing about making profits on very long term with gambling and its just temporal because if you dont that kind of control then you would just basically turning those profits into losses back
into the house which is mostly been happening in reality but for some doesnt really mind off this matter because as long they do enjoy the game then that do counts.

I heard the casinos can cheat the poker games easily. I don't know where I read it few weeks ago but basically it was saying that the house can see all the cards and you can't... so how can you know that the game is honest?

I don't think the game's honesty can be verified by a third party source like we do with dice games. Am I missing something?

If your using gambling as a way to profit; you should probably reconsider getting into gambling in the first place as that just sounds the perfect breeding grounds for a gambling addiction. I'd suggest using gambling as a bit of fun, as opposed to a earning opportunity, unless your doing matched betting.

Its why gambling exists as a business model; they know that its pretty much guaranteed money for them. The odd few users will find a profit, but the vast majority will have lost a lot, and keep spending despite losing a lot.
You shouldnt step on gambling field on the first place if yo do have this kind of mindset where you do really aim for profits and forcing yourself to play and believing that you could achieve that.

No losers would really be accepting that they are on the negative side specially to those who had badly wrekt up by gambling but there would be some will be honest on telling on their current state but doesnt matter as long

they do enjoy on what theyre doing then that what matter the most where you do enjoy despite on having some spending or budget allocation. We are all gambling for neither money or entertainment.
Its a personal preference or choice which would really differ in each everyone of us.

I've seen some statistics from 2020 about UK's gamblers where almost 30% of them claimed to be winning more than losing, but this percentage decreased as the age of participants increased. What means the confidence young gamblers have about their winnings decrease as they grow older, as they finally hit the long term.
The key word here is; "claimed". That isn't accurate data, and the only accurate data that would be available would be from the gambling companies themselves, which they'll never release unless they are required to do so, because it would be bad for business. Imagine, advertising to your potential customers that only 1, 5, 10% of their customers make a profit. If you take a look at their advertisements, they usually advertise the fact that you could win big.

Unfortunately, there's no real accurate way of predicting the success rate of a average gambler, and there is no way of accessing any evidence based results.

Exact numbers are hard to be found, but the percentage of winners must be between 3% and 5% of the total number of gamblers and their winnings are most probably due to jackpots, big wins they have hit once in life. Nowadays, with the trend around crypto gambling, many people claim to be profitable gamblers, especially the youngs, but it's important to notice to be a profitable gambler means to win on long run, what takes several years and not just few bets.

Unless you are able to manipulate the casinos on a grand scale then they are generally too good to beat and if they have any "leaks" then they will find a way to plug that hole. They know exactly where the most profitable areas of their operations exist, even if they are just making a 1% profit margin on a game - due to the repetitive habits of gamblers that can make them a lot of money. It's possible to beat certain games long term, like poker - but you have to beat the house and other players on a consistent basis. You'll be fighting against many ruthless players who have been into the game for many years and learned all the tricks. I've made small profits in the past but it is so easy to slip up and pour away money with just a few clicks.

I'm not sure it gamblers have recorded their W-L, as for my personal experience I don't so not sure if I'm on the positive or negative this year. But we all know almost all gamblers are not going to admit that they have lost. They will only hear them telling stories about their big win. And at the back side, maybe they really at a big loss overtime. Only in online gambling, all your bets is recorded, and unless you go back track and see how it goes, it's really hard to know.

If most of the gamblers will admit this, as knowing behind those big wins greed take place, instead of cashing it out some gamblers will
push more and try to see if luck will continue to help them win, they just realized that they doing wrong once they already empty-handed.

I don't know my stats now but way back, I'm sure I lost a lot since I don't have that control thinking that I'm just having fun and the money that I'm using is spare that I can afford to lose.

But by calculations, is no longer small amount and I don't want that to happened again.

Honestly let's just not talk about it  Roll Eyes if we all started to account for our overall gambling journey,  most of us will call it quits immediately.
You know what when you hear someone say "the house always wins" take it has it is, that's the literal meaning, let gamblingbe about fun should there be profit then that's a second priority!
All I can say is am sure we all have our good days were we get to win some but can't really count as real profit.

Some people may have the luck of each gambling, it's just that it varies based on the level of profit that is obtained. However, some of them are the same as you are experiencing. It is quite disappointing if you have spent so much capital, but have not been given the opportunity to profit more than what you have bet.
That's gambling, you have to be good at controlling excessive waste. Because if you don't, this is the risk, you too will be very upset if you remember all that has been at stake in gambling.

So far im on the break even side because i dont really mind on tallying up my expenses or the amount that i have been used on gambling since i do really play just for the sake of entertainment.

Although there are really times which i do really mind on taking profits or be mindful on how to make bigger gains. We do know that house do always win in the end but there are still

people who do force out to win which in result into huge losses because of keeping on depositing just to force that the thing that they do have in mind should happen which
is really a very wrong mindset to have.

i gamble only a few years and with low intensity so i know the majority i get whether win or lose and the answer is i lose more "lol"

Of course there are more losses when gambling. But there is someone I know who goes through life and earns money for all his needs from gambling, he is very good at playing poker, sets daily goals and doesn't get carried away by emotions while playing. It's been 4 years since he stopped working and made poker his main source of income.
btw, the person you say is really very rare to find.  i hear a lot of those who stopped working and made a living from gambling but can't believe it will last much longer.  he already has self-control and good strategy.

There are many. There are many big winners too but they don't want to share their story because of the obvious reasons.

How much did you lose, may I ask?

There are 3 ways to win in gambling:

1- Be lucky.
2- Do arbitrage/+EV betting (this is against the casino rules because it makes you win)
3- Cheat (kind of like point 2)

As you see you just need luck if you want to win without cheating and because of the casino house edge, you are lowering your luck points the more you play so playing less gives you a higher chance to win.

Overall might not be in profit but I do more as for fun and to have a good time. So have a set budget each month so that I do not overboard or lost a big chunk in a month which has helped in order to be in limits and also not to get too much carried away from either win/loss.
