Here's the spoiler: it doesn't matter what we think.

It doesn't matter in the long run but it certainly matters for those of us traders trying to read market sentiment. You may have noticed there is a belief among most traders that "when everyone agrees on something, the opposite usually occurs."

So it pays to recognize when everyone seems bullish, or vice versa.

You want to day trade and scalp? x100 in a few short weeks? Bitcoin's actually really not for you.

100x in a few weeks? Of course not, but Bitcoin is pretty awesome for day trading and scalping. I basically stopped trading stocks and commodities when Bitcoin came along.

I wouldn't say that this was actually dip but it was correction. They are part of Bitcoin volatility and it's normal for them to happen. Although the price ihas moved forward again that doesn't mean that another correction wouldn't happen. Anyway, I think that price will continue to fluctuate going back and forth so don't be surprised with another correction.

OP's title is misleading, he is talking about the year+ long bear market not an actual "dip" since  dips are usually small and short term. so we can call them corrections but the bear market is something more than just a correction it is mostly like an "over-correction" thanks to the extreme drops.

Here's the spoiler: it doesn't matter what we think. And here's the following spoiler: it also doesn't matter if the dip's passed or not.

End game is accumulation, holding and widening that timeframe in your mind's eye to periods of years. Not months, not weeks, certainly not days. Those who have been around know this, whether or not they're telling you.

I'm still looking for a negative move down to at least 6000 area or so, that sounds negative but overall long term its better for the price to pull back in that way and then continue a rise to 10k or whatever bullish target might have.

If by dip you mean are we likely to make new lows, I think its realised to be alot less likely.  However I would also say nobody is ever certain till its a long way in the rear view mirror.

Heres why I'm thinking negative right this moment.   THe top prices heading into friday close is hitting the bottom of the previous upward channel, so we are outside that regular up move.   I would have tried short but I know alot of open trades of that sort hold off outside business hours which means we wait till sunday night to resume full trade and theres some positive bias over a weekend.

I'm not in a rush and I think market is not going to rush upwards in 2019 but I could have the time scale wrong and 'this is it'

The way you word it im not sure if OP means the bear market of 2018 or the dip this week.

If you're talking about the 2018 bear market, yes thats been over for quite a while, either 2+ months or half a year depending in how you define it.

If you're talking about this week's correction, that's impossible to know. It looks like the dip petered out at 7400 and is in the process of recovering now, but i wouldnt be totally surprised to see this correction last a bit longer because the gains from May were parabolic and made the chart look very unhealthy and in need of a correction and leveling out for a while. I would think it will need some time before pushing the price to new ground again.

I have been in here from December of 2017. This means I had never experienced a complete bear market before. So I want to ask the veterans: Has the dip passed? What is your opinion of it?
As what others say the dip has "maybe" pass, but dont feel confident just because we are seeing bitcoin rose up from the bottom of the bear market to where is it right now,the dip maybe has passed but may comeback in anytime bitcoin may slide down again were not sure untill it happen but hopefuly its not gonna happen

Yes maybe the decline has passed but for the market conditions in my opinion it is still bearish. But so far the market is heading towards a bullish direction, this is only speculation so we cannot expect much. But many also think that the market conditions are still under correction, so we have to wait for the correction to end and then determine the open position.

I don't think that this will be the last dip we'll see within this bull market.

Short term corrections like this is extremely common, and should not be something that is unexpected. When you see value of BTC constantly rising due to the fomo that exists within the market, you'll realize that it is simply unsustainable and an adjustment in the terms of price will come sooner or later.

I think that currently, $8k is still a level that has some resistance, though I fully expect that to be breached within a week given how bullish the sentiment has become. I think we're still in the smart money phase before the actual mainstream catches on at this point, because there is still a general fear of the market in mainstream due to people like you that got introduced to the market in late 2017.

Don't worry about whether the dip has passed, worry whether you have enough bitcoins before the end of the year, because the price will go higher from there. Probably, a LOT higher.

I can say one thing for sure - we are not gonig to see BTC below 4 k again in long time possibly for decades.
I believe that we can retest 6k but that is as low as we are going to go.
There are still some bears saying that we need a retest of the $31xx bottom before we can rocket up again, but I'm sure that they only hope that it will happen because they missed the opportunity of buying there while they had the chance.

The interesting part about the current run is that each time the market looks like it's about to crash, it goes back up again. I'm glad that I am currently only hodling because trading this run seems pretty dicey to me.

I did some paper trading to see if my trades would be successful, but nope, turns out it was a great decision to not trade for real. Paper trading is a good way to put your understanding of TA to work. If it's shit it won't cost you penny.  Smiley

There is no definite answer for that except that we have to wait for some days. In case bitcoin will start moving beyond $8,000 then we can say that the dip is waning. Bitcoin is right now hovering at $7,900+ which can be an attractive entrance for people planning to join the bandwagon. I am just hopeful that the bullish mode will eventually prevail here.
I just checked my wallet at blockchain.info and bitcoin has made some gain today and it is currently around $8039. I will joined those that said bitcoin has recovered and the current happenings is corrections and resetting. This is very normal in every market setting because it cannot continuously going up and likewise going down.

I am not a veteran but I think that every day we have a new dip. If you want to make profits you can buy once a week a portion of Bitcoin for the price given. In the end you will have a profit as you are going to buy all the dips.

Gaining on the monthly chart time after time, sure we are out of it. The predictions overall are adjusted at the positive side on the long run vs the beginning of the year so lets hope that will continue.

You were one of the unlucky few that entered the Bitcoin scene when the price was at it's highest, so you most probably are waiting for the price to go back to that ATH price to exit the scene again.

Your wish might be closer than you think, because the bear market has only started and the correction phase usually last about 3 years, if you look at the Bitcoin price history.   Wink

The dip may got passed already but always expect for it to come back again sooner or later. Having fluctuation in crypto is normal, bullish and bearish have always got positive effect, buy at bearish market and sell in bullish to have a profit is an example.

But the dip still happens until now because many coins have down again after bitcoin gets down too. But right now, all coins seems to want to increase back to the higher price although we still need to wait for a while. I guess that the price will change again in the next week so we can hope that the price can increase in the higher price.

If you are in the bitcoin speculative market since December 2017 then if you experienced the bearish trend, that is, you were completely in the bearish stage, but maybe as it happened so fast you did not notice, and the bearish trend happened when the price fell from $ 20ka $ 6k, at $ 6k it marked the Accumulation range, from there it dropped almost to $ 3k, but the range was marked from $ 6k to $ 11.5k. Based on Wyckoff's philosophy, this is my way of analyzing it, and how many Wyckoff followers would do it.

Although its very hard to predict future price of any coin but still based on some market analysis it can be said that dip has passed and we can see a next bull run soon which has started silently. If someone is opting an investment at this stage it should be done with proper money management, SL should be at the right place rather not only in this phase but everytime a proper money management should be follow before investing your hard earned money. Market is always traded on analysis and assumption there is nothing sure shot here.

Has the dip passed?

maybe

What is your opinion of it?

until a few months ago the price was in the $ 3300 and the opinions of the people was very terrible, there was a lot of pessimism and lack of hope... But after the price has increased a lot and in a little time, brought the optimism and the confidence that one day will see again high prices as of  $19000

i think we are due for a big correction before we start the real climb it would not suprise me if we see levels of 6k again before going over 10k.

I hope the price does not fall to  $6000
