Old thread is old...or ancient, even...last post almost has its anniversary!  But just to touch on this one as I'm working my through the list:
Plus their chip is a photo of the KnC 28nm with the logo photoshopped from it.
It's actually based on this image or a predecessor*: http://javier.esilicon.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/HFCBGA.jpg
From this page: http://javier.esilicon.com/page/3/
( Took me a bit to find that, reverse image search yielded nothing; 'bga chip bottom' with an additional yellow color filter was what popped it up right in the first screen of results. )

* What's funny is that that image has rather obvious signs of photoshoppery, and I can't decide if the failed scammers decided to smudge that out to make it less obvious (but thus introducing a different obviousness), or whether both worked from a different image that had a logo and both had to get rid of that somehow.  I'm leaning toward the former.

DBG: Did that someone ever receive anything (like a bicycle light, perhaps), or report the scam officially?

Sadly I know someone that paid for a unit in the "Batch 4" (talking to random people on a PPCoin pool/site).  Also these machines should have already hit earlier customers yet nothing.  I doubt he is the only one... even if only three people actually sent them money that is a fat stash esp. considering that at most they invested a couple hundred into the site (probably a lot less).

My daughter is a graphic designer and she likes to say: "Bow down, because Photoshop is powerful."

Tell your daughter she doesn't need to bow down to anyone, just use free GIMP instead www.gimp.org  Wink

It didn't take long to track down this photograph in Google images.  Likely the source of their photoshop trickery.

Left side, original product image.  Right side...  Hashblaster photoshop goodness.

It just amazes me how far these scammers want to go.... their site have been operating for so long..

"Batch 3 is now completely sold out and we are now accepting pre-orders for the final 200 units - Batch 4"

No one bought any machines before and they dare to keep increasing the batch number. ugly people.

Why is this even still being discussed.

It took ten seconds to see it was a scam.

Man the power of doubt and desire to believe something so crooked could be real is strong here.

You do realise scammers feed off of doubt?

What if? Is their strongest argument.

Still a photoshopped KnC 28nm chip and Carbon copy of the KnC 20nm specs made to sound a little more enticing...

Have we an update on this company?

https://www.hashblaster.com/images/batch_hardware_delivery_big.jpg

The accompanying blog-type post says they took delivery of a bunch of hardware...  but these boxes don't look like they've ever seen a shipping truck.  The labels on a couple boxes are barely sticking to the box.  Not to mention the randomness of the shipping label placement.  Anyone that's worked around a shipping department knows this type of randomness doesn't usually happen.

It looks like a bunch of fresh cardboard stacked to convince someone to send them btc for a preorder.

anyone?

They should have atleast bought self sticking paper to fake the labels...

well, to save moneys they dont need gmbh they can work undercover. as we bitcoiners do Smiley
i know where it is but i never paid attention. i got a friend he lives like 5km from the point. ill call tomorrow.

Who we are

The Hashblaster division located in Essen, Germany founded in 2012 is a part of the DO-Port GmbH, based in Dortmund, Germany, with our in semiconductor engineering specialized team, we have made it our goal to design bitcoin mining solutions that are poised to deliver a major discontinuity in the processing power and energy efficiency sector to this rapidly growing ecosystem which the bitcoin portraits.

Key word "part", as i know if there is a company which does fishing business they cant do other business like selling GPU or hookers.. so its only a fishing company nothing else...

Only Payments method "BitPay"...

So I would say its 100%

20nm? Total scam, stay away from this.

Seriously, don't send money without some kind of proof what they have is real, that goes for any of these pages that pop up out of nowhere without nary a word from their leadership on these boards.

1 TH chips at 0.55 W/GH would be 550 Watt chips...  a tad unlikely to be possible !   Hashfast and Cointerra are hitting the theoretical limits with their 250-300 watt chips.

they site looks pretty impressive though.

The guy is probably a serial ASIC scammer and by now he has a huge web design budget.  Wink

Its really very sad that the best web sites by far are made by the scammers.   The genuine asic companies seem to have really lame web sites...  based on wordpress and woo commerce.

Why... can't the genuine asic companies start making better web sites!?

In the meantime, at least we can use it as a tool to figure out who the scammers are.  The better the web site, the more likely the scam!
