I don't like it when someone calls me something mean but I believe in their right to do so. I believe it is their free speech. I am not going to boycott his business or anything of that sort.

Of course, it is wrong, when someone makes racist statements, but what they are, are just words.

If you ask me, if anything should be banned, it is the thuggery of businesses interfering in domestic issues. There should be a separation of business and state.

Even pornography and video games are protected as free-speech.

Hate is one of the emotions of human beings like love.

Repressing it through legislative actions are just trying to repress one of the basic human emotions.

Words don't physically hurt people.

I tend to believe that hate speech is a part of free speech.

Now, the definition of hate speech is very broad, after a few years, it might be offensive to even say "He' or "She"

Pooping is one of the basic human rights. It doesn't mean I want to see people pooping in the street.

Keep your hate speech -- and your pooping -- to yourself.

Two entirely different things. There are places were people can poop that they don't have to in the street unless they have diarrhea or something.

Well... Not so much differents in fact...
I don't feel like it's normal to have the right to go out with a nazi uniform and yelling at people in the street that homos should be cut in little dices then burnt...

Of course, it is free speech, but free speech is a lost cause in most of Europe. The US is the last big country where free speech is allowed. In France, some people have been sent to jail for spreading terrorist ideas. In the UK, supposedly a free country, one guy has been sent to jail for offensive tweets. Same thing in Germany for glorifying the third Reich.

But isn't it normal to send people to jail for supporting terrorism?
If I go out and yell "I want to fuck children, next week I gonna go to a random school and rape a whole class!" wouldn't you find normal to send me to jail?

If you don't believe in free speech, why are you telling us that you believe this way?

Sounds to me like you are burning out from political correctness and not hate speech freedom. Cheesy

Words are words like you state in a following post but they become something else once acted on. The step in between is very quick and when you are dealing with a uneducated or less than full brain, you will easily manipulate with the energy you bring to the discussion. Might have misheard it today on the news but Trump thanked dumb people for helping him win.
Since most people are unable to act in a civil way we need guidelines like this to protect us from group thinking that may cause a unpleasant side effect.

A classic example is what is going on in the Middle East as we type away. We have a hijacked religion that is spouting hatred for everything that is not in the Koran. Problem being that when you look at the highest area in the world for illiteracy its right there. Iran being a exception to the rules but for the most part reading is not like other areas. So we have people following a book they can not read and killing anything in opposition.
Manipulation of uneducated people is through words, not through the pen. Pen is the next step on the pyramid.. Wink

So I do disagree with this angle and I have found it to be one used by white power movements a lot on the net. Its really a tactic to confuse and murk the waters.

I am not an American. You either believe in free speech or you don't.

This is what Trump said actually

and it was in context of describing how diverse his base is.

"We won the Evangelicals," Trump said. "We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated," he continued, "I love the poorly educated! They are the smartest people, the most loyal people."

The media was ridiculing Trump supporters as only less educated and he was defending the people and siding with you people and implying that people from various background vote for him and not less the so-called 'uneducated'

Now, they have taken it out of context again when they are the ones who started calling the people 'uneducated'

The only time hate speech hurts anyone is when it is so loud that the vibration of it blows out their ears.

The hate speech thing is a political ploy.

If they holler, "Hate speech," at you, ignore them. They haven't been damaged. If they come after you with physical violence, file a claim because they wronged you by damaging your property, your body.

If they take you to court by claim, require them to show the real damage.

If they or government take you to court by complaint, file a claim right in and on top of their complaint, requiring them to show the real damage.

You can make money doing this. When they can't show any real damage, you can file for damages; actually, you should be doing this right in your claim.

I totally agree, and some societies are more free than others.  This is one thing I like about this forum:  You can pretty much say anything you like in any language you choose so long as you're not straight up trolling.  I'm totally down with that.  I might be ignorant and prejudiced, but it's my right to be both and if I want to hate someone and speak about it I should be able to do so.

Im all for hate speech but the problem why it doesnt work and is illegal in most countries is quite easy:

The average iq of a human being is 90-95.
By definition it means half of mankind has a iq less of that - how long do you think it will just stay at words?  Cheesy

( hate speech for me free speech for you Cheesy)

It seems your IQ isn't so high then Wink

It doesn't mean that half humans have less than that.

For example if 33% of pop is at 70 and 67% is at 100, result will be average 90. Even though it's not half half Wink

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bell_Curve ^^

Oh it can be an homogenised repartition meaning that half will be under the average.
But stating average is at 90 alone is not enough Wink

I don't agree that hate speech shoul be allowed. It can only lead to more hatred and violence. Have you forgotten how the WW II started?

The Talmud is full of hate speech.

If a gentile hits a Jew, the gentile must be killed (BT Sanhedrin 58b).

A gentile who strikes a Jew deserves death.  Striking a Jew is in God’s eyes an assault on the Divine Presence.  (BT Sanhedrin 58b).

All the blessings which gentiles enjoy come to them only because of God’s regard for Israel.  (BT Yebamoth 63a).

A Jew need not pay a gentile the wages owed him for work  (BT Sanhedrin 57a).

A gentile who studies the Law deserves death.  (BT Sanhedrin 59a).

It is forbidden to teach gentiles the Law.  (BT Hagigah 13a).

A gentile who observes a day of rest deserves death.  (BT Sandendrin 58b).

God is displeased when Jews show hospitality to gentiles.  (BT Sanhendrin 104a).

Jews may steal from Non-Jews

If a Jew finds an object lost by a gentile it does not have to be returned.  (BT Baba Mezia 24a.  Affirmed also in Baba Kamma 113b).

If a gentile loses something, a Jew may keep it, even if he knows the owner.  (BT Baba Kamma 113b).

A gentile must pay wages to a Jew, but a Jew does not have to pay wages to a gentile.  (BT Sanhedrin 57a).

For executing a gentile, only one person’s testimony is necessary.  (To kill a Jew, two witnesses are necessary).  (BT Sanhendrin 57b0>

The gentiles are outside the protection of the law and God has “exposed their money to Israel.”  (BT Baba Kamma 37b).

If a gentile robs a Jew, he must pay him back.  But whatever a Jew robs from a gentile, the Jew may keep.  Some robbery of gentiles is disguised as “confiscation of an unpaid debt” (Bava Kama 113b; also Bava Metzia 111b).

BT Sanhedrin 52B: “A non-Jew is not considered a neighbor.”

i dont agree with you .. some hate speech bring light evil plans to evil mind.. it can be dangerous..

you are right it can be usually dangerous speaking on the behalf of racism, rape , murder etc.. some speech topics must be restricted for the societies sake..

Well forbidding people to publicly talk abut these subjects won't make them stop talking in private.
It won't stop ideas to spread. As you can't even talk about it, it means they'll talk only to people agreeing with them...

Not sure it's really a good thing for society :-/
