Scammers are always there in the internet and they good in their games. They will always paint it to look enticing and in you enter and sometime before the due time the site will fold or the will be an issues that burst out which will force the website to close. There ends your money.

Scammers are very good at tempting users with something they know they want and then they take advantage of people that due to greed or ignorance do not know better and then, lose their money to scammers, then these people claim that bitcoin is a scam and this slows down adoption so scammers are really a pest against bitcoin and it users.

I just came over from the 'Investor Games' subforum (hope I got that right). A guy there said he came across a site asking to double his bitcoin, he paid in $20 and got $40 the following day or so. He then went for a higher plan of $300 hoping to cash out $600 but they asked him to pay in another $300 before cashing out. He got confused and was asking for advice.

I think I've been there before. Before I became a forum member. I once came across one of those scam sites promising to generate bitcoins. Thought it was real, but when they asked me to pay some transaction fee, I was stuck. I had no money to pay the fee. With the benefit of hindsight, I know I'd have sent them the 'transaction fee' had I had the coins to send them.

Now, what have been your experience with internet scams?
How do we help people not to get scammed?

Yes, I have scammed many times. The "Wheels Fargo" the "Gold Quest" which also encourage to double the amount but unfortunately suddenly vanished away.

We have to learn from experience, I am often exposed to scam and the last is a cloud mining investment that uses bitcoin and ethereum, the easiest thing we use whether the scam or not is whether the site makes sense and reliable? if we are in doubt then leave immediately.

Yes!I've been already scammed,1 year ago through internet.I invest then at the first time It's ok.in the second I doubled my invest and then there's no coming back.so that's the first time I experienced scammed.but this time in bitcoin,I am very sure of this, why?because you don't have to invest anything, you can only use your brain to do it.your opinion is only your capital to work on it.that's why I am one of the bitcoin users now.

I've been scammed, actually it already happened to me twice last month. And of course, i can't do anything because it already happened. It's just sad  because all you hard works turn into nothing. I wonder why do people like that, do that? I mean actually you don't need to stole or deceive anyone.

It is about your own risk.  You put your own risk at any investment because if you didn't put any pot money, surely you didnt get any outcome that can solve your curiousity.  Too many people or investor are experience that thing.

You can help the people to get about scamming by simple way, don't go for investment if you are scared to know what are the result.

I did but when I was younger, playing a video game called MU, nowadays I  exchange using trustworthy websites or individuals.
In bitcoin thank God I never experience scam. But I experience scam before not in bitcoin. It's really hard to be scammed especially you work hard for what you have, it's just really hard to think that there are a people who can steal the thing that you work for. And if I'm gonna experience scan here in bitcoin I swear I am going to stop doing bitcoin.

When I was starting at the Bitcoin system I have encountered many scams but never invested in any of them. They where like give me your money and I will double it in 24 hours, of course they don't have much strategy back then. I have seen many people who have got scammed from those hypes and scams. The most reason people are getting scammed is because they do not have enough knowledge about how Bitcoin is being generated or they do not think before investing. people should at least think how they will double your money when you cannot do it yourself. Making people aware of the system is going to reduce this scamming stuff.

With cryptocurrencies I only participated once at an investment program. And what can I say, I got the promised amount. I think I earned about 5 dollars. I did not participate in the second turn and was right to do so because then it turned out to be a scam. That was the most risky thing I did with my coins. I am really proud that nobody was abel to scam me with cryptocurrencies... yet.
The funny thing is that with paypal I actually paid once something I never got, without a refund.

Never, but once I've adviced to my friend scam project Grin
That is silly to hear that you helped someone to scam others.
I have being scammed by a few dumb investments in some scam ICO in the past and so is the reason i took a break from every form of investment in new ICO and thought of holding onto my coins i am holding and when the market started rising i concentrated my time on trading than investing in new ICO. There were some good ICO last year and i am looking for new projects .

I've been investing on these "forex trading" thing that I saw over the internet. It took us a little while to unravel the truth, its just a ponzi scheme after all! After what happened, the "trader" ran away with our money. Lips sealed Lips sealed Lips sealed

also invested on some mining sites and after getting my first pay out, i thought it was real! so I've waited til such time that I can withdraw my balance again but nothing happened....  Undecided
be careful on investing guys, always check the company background.

Nope, but who would like to be scammed though? The most important is, to prevent yourself from being one. I've got known friends who has experienced it and its really a disaster! For safe-tier bitcoin? Stop. Look. And Read.

A lot. I have been scammed by a lot of HYIP or High Yield Investment Programs back then because i was just a newbie and the bitcoin is cheap back in the old days and all i can do is to just get into bitcoin and buy a lot and bet or invest into different investments that i will see in facebook and i am just investing because i see them earning and now i regret all of those decisions.

So far i have never got scammed by anybody in regard with btc as i don't try out something which says i can double my btc infact  i try it own my own by doing trading.I know trading is risk and it all depends on luck and one should have wide knowledge on how the market is running to do trading but trading on btc also has never disappointed me as i used to get advice from the once who were active traders on btc and i used to follow their view so  i never had to regret my decisions.
