I have already been scammed. In the field of bitcoin and campaign specially the bounty one, we don't know what will happen. Still we will do it since we need to give out trust. But of course as a Bitcoiner, we must have calculated the risk that we can take.

I advise you next time to ask for people feedback before investing. And you can always do a little search in google if this website is reported by anyone as scam.

I consider myself a rather experienced scam sniffer. Ate it hook line and sinker with confido. I let fomo get the better of me for the first time in quite a while. Lost 1 eth. Others lost a shit ton more. Wasn't angry. Just thought of it as a somewhat costly lesson.

Now, what have been your experience with internet scams?
It's popular that everyone here that started out crypto's having lack of knowledge basically got scammed by HYIPs and I'm one of it before. But I learned from that scam and never joined any of them.

How do we help people not to get scammed?
Let's just spread the word and tell us our experience about those scams, warning them will help.

I just came over from the 'Investor Games' subforum (hope I got that right). A guy there said he came across a site asking to double his bitcoin, he paid in $20 and got $40 the following day or so. He then went for a higher plan of $300 hoping to cash out $600 but they asked him to pay in another $300 before cashing out. He got confused and was asking for advice.

I think I've been there before. Before I became a forum member. I once came across one of those scam sites promising to generate bitcoins. Thought it was real, but when they asked me to pay some transaction fee, I was stuck. I had no money to pay the fee. With the benefit of hindsight, I know I'd have sent them the 'transaction fee' had I had the coins to send them.

It happens when you are naive and you think an idea will give you more value than it should. It should send off alarm bells when things are too good to be true or if you do your research but these things happen. I have been scammed a few times in my lifetime and sadly it may not be the last. However I am taking steps to ensure this type of thing doesn't happen again I guess time will give us our answer.

if you're an old user in bitcoin, I think you've been fooled. I thought that was the usual thing. even I've been fooled at some minning sites and investment sites, like HYIP, and others. but, it will also shape your thinking.

I was scammed once at a HYIP site and someone stole my bitcoin from my blockchain account too. It happened long time ago when I was relatively new to this kind of business and didn't care too much about security. As time goes by, I learn from my mistakes.

That's the sad thing about the internet and btc; being used to scam other people. Although we cannot do anything to stop those wrongdoings, we can't really blame those criminals behind the scams. We are the ones who gave them opportunities to scam us by being greedy and that's what they are taking advantage of. I guess people are naturally greedy but to some extent. We all want easy money and will do everything to get rich.

Personally, I've tried those hyip sites just for fun. At first, I got 200% profit from the first site I've tried. Then my greediness got the better of me and I started investing in different sites I even lost count of them. I'm not that much of a risk taker so even if I was driven by greed, I always keep in mind to invest an amount I can afford to lose in every site. At first I was happy with what I am earning but the odds aren't always on my side and to cut the story short, I got scammed by various sites. But I don't have any regrets left in me now since I always knew how risky hyip sites are and that they have lifespan of usually not more than a month. Right now, I took a break from investing in those sites and is now focus on hunting great ICOs to invest in.

When I joined bitcoin community I was encourage to join this mining btcprominner I was amazed with the amount of income you can get from it later when i try to withdraw my earnings they required me to deposit and upgrade first my account olny then when someone told me that it is a scammed and they really don't pay. I learn from then and whenever someone is offering me a high paying job I make a research first.

Basically, most of this minning sites are scam. They make it attractive for an innocent newbie, with referral bonuses. I have experienced them too but no regrets because I really didn't waste my time or expecting much from such game.

Unfortunately , like many members here I was scammed too.. Long time ago when BTC price was about 700$ I invested 0.05 btc in HYIP program (getting double on any amount after 10 days) and I never getting back anything. The reason why I invest is that five members posted on forum that they got paid and give a proof with transaction ID, so everything is seems real. Maybe my mistake was that I invest too late, because like every HYIP they paying only first 1-2 week and when people start investing bigger amount they stop paying and run with all deposits.

This is one of the reasons why a lot of us are afraid to try new things that are new to use or being introduced by someone we don't know. We're scared of the thought that everything that is new to you is a scam. This also results for us to be afraid of taking the risk. I've also been there before but unlike you, I was just testing the person who is trying to scam me and getting the feel of his explanation. Then while we are talking, I get the feeling where our conversation will be headed so I just ignored him and never replied back.

I got scammed by HashOcean, I was recommended it by the guys who introduced me to bitcoin, I invested everything that I had in bitcoin, and only received one payment before they ran away with everything. But lesson learnt, since then I've not fallen for a too good to be true trap.

There are many types of scam that exist in bitcoin world and one of it is bitcoin multiplier, they post fake transaction ID on their site so that people get lured and deposit some bitcoin. Some might pay back if the amount is small like in your case but others will just remain silent with whatever amount they will get. They will run away with all those deposits when there will be not much new deposits.

It is impossible to determine fraud. If before you cheat professional then it will definitely find its way to your consciousness. But such fraud is very small. Most cheaters use for their scams is greed. Therefore, in most cases, the people themselves are to blame for that fell into the Scam. You should always understand that money is hard to get and if someone offers you an easy way they Scam.

Yes because I made some mistakes in my first days with Bitcoin and I invested in some scammer sites. I learned the lesson and nowadays I work only in trading or doing tasks for reputable campaigns here in this forum, or with the most trusted sites paying in BTC.
