CLEAN non GPL infringing code made in Rust lang
I don't think i ever will.
First, we went cashless here years ago thanks to the magic of hyperinflation...
Second, its a physical KYC. Those things are recording you and taking your biometrics.
Third you could be spotted and followed by criminals.
Fourth, their fees are not funny. Far higher than any exchange.
Fifth the goal is to never exchange again. Pay and be paid with bitcoin is the true independence.

People from "nice" countries with low criminality and a "stable" fiat, might see a "need" for ATMs, i don't.

I've seen them pop up all around me, in small convenience stores and even restaurants. I was wondering if it's a good option to buy a gift for someone else, or are the fees too high and it's not worth it? Also I'm not sure how it works but figuring they give you a private key, and how safe is that?
Why not?, though alot of bitcoin ATM 's are already installed in strategic places in my country, am yet to come across one in my locality.
But then, if or when I do, I can't wait to use them, will love to try it out, if not for any thing, atleast, to know how it functions, when I try it for the first time, my experience with it will tell if I should keep using the bitcoin atm or quit forever, or maybe until it becomes more rampard like fiat atms, atleast by then, there will be plenty competitions among the owners and this will bring transaction fee down.

in my country, there is not a single bitcoin ATM circulating...

the rules against bitcoin made by the government of my country are very strict and bitcoin cannot be used as a means of payment. but I have a friend on social media and coincidentally he lives in a country where there are a lot of bitcoin ATMs there, he said that the fees charged were very large (when we buy bitcoin through the ATM), not so profitable. Is that true?

Excellent reading this thread and how everyone’s experience is completely different from location to location I guess. Because of the members claiming that they can only withdraw up to $100 everyday if you don’t upload your documents and daily limit is 2-4K USD (?).

However Some of them are able to withdraw it irrespective of their documents requirement and limitations everyday. This must be from USA since most of the ATM in US are just easy to use scan your QR and get the stuff!

However, I see no point in scanning documents if bitcoin is decentralised.

Isn't it funny though, majority here haven't used Bitcoin ATM, hehehe, well for me if there is one that is near my place then why not?

I know the fees are going to kill me, but if circumstances tells me to do it then definitely I will. Before the pandemic, I'm also thinking of doing this as sort of experiment on my end and to have the experience. But maybe before the end of the year, I will do this as sort of test on my end.

I haven't tested a bitcoin ATM before and also haven't seen it physically. Base on some reviews I read I think it's not yet time for it to be introduced. I believe it would be better when there are no restrictions against crypto holding or trading in many countries.

for now I can't use bitcoin ATMs because my country needs to adopt bitcoin so from that we can't make transactions using bitcoin ATMs as has happened in several countries which have fully adopted bitcoin widely in the country and created several bitcoin ATMs so that transactions can be carried out by citizens of this country, but if bitcoin adoption has been carried out by various countries then it is not impossible that we will also be able to use bitcoin ATMs to transact
The use of Bitcoin ATMs for the public is carried out based on the regulations of each country, so not all countries support providing Bitcoin ATMs in public places, but technologically advanced countries have long implemented Bitcoin ATMs, so other countries will tend to follow developed countries as role model for other countries.

Want top-notch marketing for your project, Hire me
I used a particular bitcoin atm that takes spare change and can give you the fund in btc.

The real problem was the fees. I had deposited around $120 in change and only got about $95 back in actual bitcoin. Bitcoin ATMs are in no way the way to go for a beginner looking to get some money in bitcoin. The fees would instantly turn them off.
Wow, that's pretty crazy! But it also makes sense, at the end the ATM are mainly made for people who want to change some extra money or want to get a "bitcoin experience", maybe because they can simply say they bought some bitcoins, well, satoshis. At least the more the install the more people will start wondering if maybe they should change some useless fiat for bitcoin.
You are right, the logic that you apply here is the total truth, also seeing that ATMs have a money limit I think it would be a safe thing, as long as all the money is not on the card that has the BTC, because that way it is the only way that they can mess with you how much money you may have, and they will begin to find out the origin of those funds, I think that is a dangerous option to be able to take risks, however I think that if I would use it, in my country it is very far from me to go to a BTC ATM, it takes about 20 hours because it is in the capital, but I think I would be able to use it, but with very little money.

I don't see any reason why I would make use of the Bitcoin ATM due to its disadvantages which are

1) It will be easy for the Fed and some big brother to monitor your wallet activities
2) Because it's not decentralization and privacy friendly
3) There's always a ridiculous fee involved whenever you perform a transaction through it
All what I mentioned which the Bitcoin ATM didnt respect are major turn off for me.

So far, I'm not using this ATM because there is no BTC ATM around my area here. And payment with Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies are still not allowed in my country.

Rrlated to the question, as long as available, If I were there, I may try to use it at least once  Cheesy
kidding
I mean that if this is necessary and urgent, we can use it. however, if we think that it's not, I will prefer to use other tyoes of oayment by considering the fee of transaction of course.
it is about a matter of advantages and disadvantages of using the ATM at a certain time for me. But if this is considerable more effective at that time, why not using them?

Hi OP can you share please in which country you live?

Technically they don't need to print a complete wallet but they can just sent some btc to your wallet and that's it.
Of course they can be used as gift (some minor amount just for fun) but I will not trust such products of course... and If I will give as a gift to some one I will explain clearly that a wallet like this should not be used for storage of coins since "not your keys not your bitcoins".
last several days bitcoin transaction fees looks drop and under few cent pay for fees, I don't see will hard for paying fees when transaction using bitcoin on real life. Actually when sending with the same platform will easy without have to pay fees, like sending bitcoin from one coinbase account to another account, trough sending by email not have to pay fees, will adopt by real company with multi payment accepted for give easy thing as costumer without fees transaction.

The last time I’ve used a Bitcoin ATM was in Singapore. It was inside the Plaza Singapura mall where there is a store that buys and sells gold. It was in 2019 where I tried to withdraw my Bitcoin to SGD and it took me at least 45 minutes of waiting before the transaction was finally confirmed. I had followed all of the steps carefully on how to withdraw in a Bitcoin ATM, and it’s really worth the experience despite it took me a while to make sure that everything is correct and not worrying about my funds in getting lost.

Bitcoin ATMs are not available in my country yet. I have only exchanged bitcoin through cryptocurrency exchange. But, I hope this service will start soon in our country too.

If the bitcoin ATM was made,it was next stage to the crypto. When the crypto was taken as an money from the ATM,you can directly give to the shop for the purchase of food items. This will take huge time then we consider. All the shop should accept the bitcoin as like the dollars. But if that happened so,what is the mean of digital currency.Bitcoin also become a paper currency.

I could say yes if that become available in our country. Some countries are already using this, it was safe actually knowing that the machine could also generate code/phrase but what something it worries us if the machine is legally operated or not, and we don't make this a reason to seize our Bitcoin.
Some reports that Bitcoin ATM machines have been confiscated last year

For as long as it was permitted by the authorities, it was safe to use. I surely use this stuff sooner once available.

I have never used a Bitcoin ATM. Because it is still going on illegally in my country. My country has not yet got the legitimacy of Bitcoin which is why we have not been able to use Bitcoin ATM yet. Many big countries in the world who have legalized Bitcoin and have ATMs are probably using this Bitcoin ATM. However, we are very hopeful that Bitcoin will be legalized in our country.

When it comes to either using a bitcoin ATM or not use, it's a matter of understanding whom is behind the provision or management of the service. In cryptocurrency as we have it, privacy is everything and which ever way it might turn, either the use of a card or reading of public address on your devices or something, it has to be verified to be relatively safe and not to go home after using such services and then, you come to observe a verifying transaction on your wallet. That would be disappointing.

Either to use or not is a question for the future where I actually have one before me but I'm sure, I would love to try it out. Cryptos needs more used cases and should bitcoin  ATM provide one, it ought to be utilised as such.

It was the dream of most of the crypto currency investors.Because we already had a feel of withdrew dollars and all our Fiat in ATM.But ninety percentage of people will not had a experience of withdrew of Bitcoin. It’s the digital curragreed. But who don’t like the way of getting or holding of the digital currency in our hands. If any of you had that experience, kindly share here.
