Oh, can't forget about that guy bought the pizza for 10,000 btcs.

Unfortunately, Laszlo Hanyecz, the Floridan programmer who bought the pizzas for BTC10,000 admitted in this forum a few months ago that he don't have any more BTCs in his wallet. He spent all of them in 2011.  Angry

Oh, can't forget about that guy bought the pizza for 10,000 btcs.
Poor bastard.
It must have at least been an honor.
3-4 years ago there were less than 100 people frequenting this forum, and I was pretty happy to trade 10,000 coins for pizza.  I mean people can say I'm stupid, but it was a great deal at the time.  I don't think anyone could have known it would take off like this. Smiley

I am already a millionaire thanks to Bitcoin, the world just hasn't figured it out yet. The same could be true for you, dear friends, if you simply HODL long enough.

I paid taxes because all my money goes through my American bank account.  I don't want to go to jail.

Why would you go to jail? You couldve just kep the money in btc and not had to pay any taxes.

The student loans need to be paid off in dollars.

And because I think you need to hear this, PAY YOUR TAXES! Mr. Tea

...sort of.  If there are any canadians reading this know you can pay off your student loan balance with bitcoin via bylls.com

Nobody currently hold one million Bitcoins. Anyway, I've met a Fiat millionaire, but not a Bitcoin millionaire. I think they'd want to stay hidden for security reasons.

I think they'll be living like average civilians, so they won't spend all of their wealth.

I thought Satoshi might have over a million? And everybody knows being a bitcoin millionaire means holding a million fiat value in coins. And why would a bitcoin millionaire what to stay hidden any more than a fiat millionaire?

You have to specify the currency then - Euros, dollars, Yuan, Yen, pounds, Zimbabwean dollars etc.

e.g. One million Yen is about $10,000 today, iirc.

those that brag about their riches are usually naive people that are not used to being wealthy. and usually find in 20 years time their riches would have evaporated..

It is very different going from not having enough money to consistently eat and being a paycheque away from being unable to afford rent to having 7-figure fiat balances, and almost all your day to day life problems more or less solved almost overnight.  Absolutely surreal.  And for those reading this thread: the price peaked > ~4096$usd/btc at kraken.  That means a lot of people were, at least momentarily, millionaires, and if they sold...could have bought in again at 350$ and be doing quite well for themselves.  I quit my shitty job and haven't looked back, and now don't really fit in with working people(they have shop to talk about...I just don't), don't really fit in with wealthy people(I really don't give a flying fuck about status symbols and would be perfectly fine eating KD with weiners every day), don't really fit in with retired people(I'm too young to really have much in common with them)...

This is the land of wolves now & you're not a wolf
One of my good friends from my office (who got me into BTC) probably has pretty close to a mill in the USD equiv of BTC.   He was introduced to BTC by his brother in law Roger Ver...who obviously has more than a mill worth of BTC.  My buddy doesn't really ever talk about how many BTC he has  though...

thos smart enough to have always been wealthy and increase their wealth would not brag about it, nor tell anyone how to also bcome wealthy (avoid future competition), plus as lethn said avoid unwanted attention from scammers.

i have seen too many polls asking for how much people have and what client programs they us etc, all part of th schme for people to target the rich. so dont pretend it doesnt happen.

people like warren buffet will tell people not to buy things, so that he can buy cheaply without competition. then when h is ready to sell, he will tell people to buy so that he can sell without causing a price drop.

you will find the rich and wealthy people tell you the opposite to what you want to hear.

This is a light bulb moment...now i can figure out why warren buffet said not to buy bitcoins...

Bitcoin secures anonymity. Some people break the barriers, and 'steal' coins. Late 2011 is a example, when thieves took off with a lump sum of coins. If a idiot is stupid enough to move a lot of coins at once, on a online wallet, you can't get those back. And don't expect the police to help you, like they'd do to a fiat millionaire.

And no, it depends on how you word it. Saying 'Bitcoin millionaire' means 'Bitcoin millionaire'. Would you say 'Peso millionaire', or 'Dung millionaire' and mean USD, GBP, or a Euro?

Haha, very simple but amusing website. Debatable too as many people consider a Bitcoin Millionaire as holding 1 million BTC, rather than 1 million local currency in BTC Tongue

No millionaire here, but I bought 500 BTC with a cost basis of just over $12K. I sold 90 at $900 and used the proceeds to buy a 2014 Corvette. The balance I  am holding because I have a $50K price target within 10 years. BTC will really take off after the collapse of the international monetary system. This collapse is almost inevitable at this point.

The catalyst for this collapse is the Fed's efforts to devalue the dollar. BTC has many advantages over gold and it is such a thinly traded market that enormous price increases will result. So I am either going to be worth $20MM or worst case I got a corvette for $12,000.

That's harsh. Are you suggesting that Mr Tea doesn't pay his taxes generally, or capital gains (or similar)?

It depends on which county Mr Tea is in, and how much money he is talking - there may be no tax.
