I’m just kind of curious how many people around here have been around long enough to have spoken to Satoshi, and what your experience was like. I am just fascinated about the whole thing. It’s beyond amazing Satoshi is still anonymous, so it makes me wonder what he was like when speaking with them. I’m guessing not too many people here were around for those days. This is one thing I’ve always wanted to hear Theymos talk about. Imagine having helped Satoshi build bitcoin, having private messages etc…what an experience!

To the best of my knowledge, Theymos actually had closer contact with Satoshi. However, only in relation to this Forum and Bitcoin...
]

I though the same too. At least they have conversations just around the forum comments, private messages, and things like that. Beyond that nothing else or a physical contact to be precise.
Though there were actually a few forum members who has been here since the beginning who made an exchange of comments with Satoshi, but it's really amazing to hear stories from people who actually made a conversation with Satoshi through private messages.

There's a lot of people who keep digging and searching for who is Satoshi and there's a few of them claiming the real Satoshi even though they can't able sign message the first Bitcoin wallet which a proof of evidence that they are the one.  Why not we didn't respect Satoshi's decision to become anonymous, and comment above was right, being anonymous is the power of Bitcoin to maintain the decentralized nature of Bitcoin.

Who knows maybe there is, but not publically posted it here those who spoken with Satoshi before and having an interaction with Satoshi.  I believed this user Hal, was spoken to Satoshi before because he is knowledgeable about Bitcoin and Blockchain networks.

Perhaps only a few people remaining here in the forum have spoken, or at least commented and replied to Satoshi's forum posts, one of them being theymos, of course. Only a few at the time had the privilege to exchange insights and comments with the guy, and satoshi left too soon and has not been seen or heard ever again. A quick look at satoshi's forum posts and you can see that most people whom he interacted with aren't really active on the forum anymore, but it's really interesting to see that there are still some guys that are around and still posting every now and then, like the core devs and other guys who were more interested in the code rather than the idea of bitcoin back then.

Adam Back is Satoshi. I plan on doing a write-up about this.

I hate to post something like this without all the evidence, but Satoshi actually wasn't that good at keeping his identity a secret.
If Adam Back was satoshi it would have been confirmed all over the world. Satoshi's identity still remains anonymous till date, I would say even Theymos still haven't meet with satoshi  except on the forum and the day satoshi becomes public bitcoin would lose its decentralized nature because many world power would likely force him into centralizing bitcoin. His anonymous identity is the power bitcoin has

I am new to this forum and if you look at the existing DT ranks, I see satoshi who was active in this forum several years ago.
I personally only know about his name and his extraordinary stories without being able to know or have ever chatted with him.

How about Gavin Andreson and Adam Back? I am sure they were in touch with him...as a matter of fact Satoshi reached out to Back before the publication of the white paper.

Thanks everyone for the responses.  I just thought it would be a fun experiment to see if anyone around here who actually reads through this main bitcoin discussion channel had ever spoken to Satoshi before.  I of course figured that Theymos is one of very few who had interacted with him that is still active on this forum today.  I just can't imagine having had such a unique experience such as Theymos has had.  Truly legendary stuff.

I believe that very very few people have ever chatted with Satoshi in this forum.
I once watched a documentary from bitcoin entitled "The Rise Of Bitcoin". It's a perfect documentary  film to watch for those who are curious about who Satoshi had spoken to and why he disappeared, as well as various kinds of bitcoin history.

I doubt that you can come with a proper evidence.
However, you can ask nicely Adam Back to sign a message that, amongst other things contains the date of signing and his name. Of course, signed with one of known "Satoshi addresses".

I’m just kind of curious how many people around here have been around long enough to have spoken to Satoshi

Maybe not spoken, but discussed on the forum - there may be a few, but I doubt that they're still active here, they have their businesses now.
Hence, instead of asking here, maybe you can gather a list of users from the early topics.

it makes me wonder what he was like when speaking with them

Really? Most probably those who knew him as Satoshi have never spoken with him face-to-face, instead they've used forum(s) or e-mail(s).

Satoshi is a very anonymous man on this planet wherien no one can find him if someone wants to give a rewards for creating bitcoin. And for sure only people who claim their self "the only one satoshi" were can be found in the internet even in public places.. Lol
For me it's very impossible now to locate that real creator, because if he has intention to display his real information probably it already happened at the first place that bitcoin become a very first successful decentralized asset around the world.. But that man wants a quite and peaceful life.  Grin

I’m just kind of curious how many people around here have been around long enough to have spoken to Satoshi, and what your experience was like.

If we take for example this thread from 2010 - Proof-of-work difficulty increasing ,only 4-5 people who then discussed with Satoshi are active today or were active this year.

It would have been a special experience for sure, but Satoshi was just a man, not some supernatural being with special powers. If Satoshi is still alive and reading this forum, I think he is amazed that people are still so obsessed with him, even more than with Bitcoin sometimes.

For some reason I think that there's none people who actually had interaction with Satoshi left out here, I might be wrong though, but come on, they all should have probably have their own companies by now  Cheesy

I do not think that by creating such a topic and question today, we will see many new faces.
Any newcomer who claims to have known Satoshi is perceived as a troll and a liar. If some old member of this forum tells about an acquaintance, then I am sure that he too will be subjected to massive mistrust and harsh interrogation. Therefore, it seems to me that everyone who knew and communicated with Satoshi told about this for a long time, and it is naive to think that today we will meet the "dinosaur" of the forum, about which no one knows anything yet.

I'm definitely following more rubbish people than good people, and a lot of it is also because I followed rubbish ICOs in the past. And also I haven't updated any of my social media for about 2 years because it gets noisy. Much more peaceful to read on this forum. I do check every now and then but twitter does show me the most popular posts and it can be hard to ignore that rubbish posts are the more popular ones at certain times.

It's just either you clean your following, or create a new Twitter account for you to have a clean slate.

Quick tip: Definitely don't follow the "influencers" if you don't want rubbish. Instead, follow the devs and the builders!

Also, the quality of your Twitter feed highly depends on who you follow. So if you see rubbish, then you're probably following rubbish peeps.

yes, I indeed spoke to Satoshi many times and asked him about his plan to reveal his identity to the world!

In my dreams, obviously!  Cheesy

On a serious note, I don't think anyone here knows his/her real identity. I know Hal Finney had a contact with him during the initial days of bitcoin, but I doubt he knows the identity of Satoshi to be honest! He had few email conversations with Satoshi but the real identity is not known. Satoshi is not a stupid man, whoever is in touch with him, is unaware of his real identity. The contact was through emails only!

Well if the original people who were talking to satoshi were all on mailing lists and on forums like this one (which I guess was modern for the time) then I highly doubt they are on Twitter where it looks rubbish and noisy.

In my imagination these guys are on other super deep web layers talking to each other on encrypted channels that look just like cypherpunk forums of the old days.

Not every single person that somewhat interacted with Satoshi on Bitcointalk is anonymous, and the likes of Gavin Andresen, Jeff Garzik, Dan Larimer, and even the late Hal Finney himself are on Twitter.

No so many would come up with this that they have interaction with the original creator of the Bitcoin when he was active on the forum before completely vanishing and going off radar to becoming one of the most exciting mystery that has been unlocked for years. As said above @theymos or some high rank members who are early bitcoin contributors might have a word with him but not many on the forum got this opportunity. But still we know everything about his creation bitcoin.

I'm pretty sure like only 0.0001% of Bitcointalk's userbase has somewhat interacted with the Satoshi account, and they've probably already stopped using Bitcointalk as it's arguable that there are better places like Twitter to be talking about Bitcoin; or the fact that they're too rich now to actually care lol.
