Export your private key and use a lighter client and import it there.

It is downloading the whole block chain again.
Unless you don't mind waiting a couple of days.....

It is trying to download the whole blockchain from stratch. Do you have a recent copy of the blockchain so you can copy it onto the SDcard and save time?

DO you downloaded the bitcoin core?

If yes then sync will take some time because you need to download all blockchain.

You can use other wallets like multibit if you want quicker sync, but you have to trust that miners won't cheat you

Hello,
My old Android crashed and I got a new one. Installed the standard bitcoin wallet on there and I recovered the wallet. Now it says  "synchronizing with network, 8 months behind."  and im 24 hours in.

WTF is it doing? downloading the whole blockchain?
