The most important aspect of gambling is the profits side that do makes us to gamble more. Those that understand that and know the major reason why they are gambling will never forget the reason why they opt in to gamble for the money. It is very important for us to stick to what made us to go into gambling rather than losing our focus and doing another thing. If we eventually go into gambling without no tangible reasons we might lose track and end up without any benefits. There are different ways we can gamble but we should always stick to what works for us.
I suppose that if you are a professional gambler the first and probably the only reason to gamble at all is for the profits you can get with it.

However a person that is unable to reach those results needs to have a different reason to gamble, because if they refuse to change their goal even if they know they cannot get profits then it is almost a given that they will begin to lose way too much money, which could encourage them to bet even more to recover what they have lost already and so on, until they lose everything they had.

It is true that majority of the gamblers gamble just to double their money but when one focuses so much on making profit,  it might lead to a more serious issue especially when the profits ain't forth coming as  expected.  This is where the gambler begins to experience negative health and financial challenges instead of benefits. Gambling is not a must thing to do, if a person wants to make money, there are many other ways of making money aside just gambling,  especially if the money you were expecting isn't coming through gambling.  There is no point chasing losses or gambling more with the hope of winning some day. The later results of all these vengeful gambling is not always good,  it can even lead to depression if not handled well. If gambling isn't working,  try something else.

for a professional gambler, the primary and likely sole motivation to gamble is for the potential profits. However, for individuals who are unable to achieve positive results, it emphasizes the importance of having a different reason to gamble. If someone persists in chasing profits despite repeated losses and refuses to alter their goals, there is a risk of accumulating significant financial losses. This may lead to a dangerous cycle where the person continues to bet in an attempt to recover previous losses, ultimately risking losing everything they had.

That's right, I experienced it and I always do that every day to stay away from gambling, as you mentioned by keeping myself busy with many other activities and it's really effective. We must understand that usually the desire to gamble likes to appear when you have a lot of free time. Choosing to occupy yourself with other activities in your real life will be very useful to reduce your interest in gambling.

I think this is a much more effective way to do it, because obviously with your lack of interest in gambling then obviously it will be easier for you to get out of that useless activity, I'm sure you are not comfortable with all the pressure in your financial situation, and you can choose some activities that are also fun but do not have a bad impact in terms of risk such as maybe going to the gym with friends or going to tourist attractions with your family or maybe adding a part-time job, all of these things will be very useful to take your mind off gambling, this is good advice so please try it. Wink
I also do it like you do. I feel like it's the only thing that can distract me from thinking about gambling all day because I've had experiences where I had free time for a few days. Every day, my mind is focused on gambling, especially remembering the losses I experienced from gambling, and it feels uncomfortable. But after I found an activity that could keep me busy all day, slowly, those thoughts drifted away and didn't come at all until now. And when I want to gamble, I really want to gamble and only gamble with enough money.

What is important is that someone can look for and find activities that can divert their attention from gambling and can keep them busy carrying out every activity and routine every day. It can help him to quit gambling slowly or suddenly because he has to do that activity or routine every day. He will not remember gambling anymore because his mind is already busy with different activities that can make him remain active in carrying out these activities.

It improves mood
It is a stress reliever
It helps us to take risk
These are the positive traits of gambling that I love so much that at times it makes me think about gambling as a hobby but the thought of the addiction makes me run away from it despite the lovely feeling I am getting from it.

It would not be ideal if someone should get involved with something because of the good feeling, without having in mind the disadvantages that can lead to destruction

These positive traits don’t happen to everyone. Not everyone plays gambling and has stress levels reduced. Nor does it help improve the mood of just everyone.
You can always take gambling as an activity as it seems you enjoy playing. But you shouldn’t play and let your emotions control your actions. You’re well aware of the risks so it’s left to you to decide on how not to let the activity have any negative impact on you.

I think he was addicted to gambling because he returned to gambling after busying himself with other activities, we can judge from his behavior because people who are addicted to gambling find it difficult to stop even if they find other hobbies to avoid gambling. I think a hobby of fishing will not succeed in diverting him from his addiction to gambling because fishing is very boring and he has to find a hobby according to his wishes. I think if he likes training at the gym or other sports it will help him avoid gambling because sports activities require more time for rest.
I also think that if he prefers to busy himself with other activities, he can divert his mind from thinking about gambling, and he can avoid returning to gambling. This will allow him to reduce his gambling activities and maybe even help him overcome his gambling addiction if he can do it continuously, he also has a chance to cure his gambling addiction without having to visit a psychiatrist or specialist. Training in the gym could be a solution because he is not in touch with numbers or money, but if he bets with his friend on how long he can last in weightlifting, it will return him to the gambling he wants to avoid. However, this requires a change in mindset that it is better not to associate everything he does with gambling so that his mind will not think about gambling.

If you do find yourself on the verge of addiction then it would be better or best that you should really be stopping on dealing up or engaging with gambling via means of trying out to distract yourself into other activities
on which it would really that possibly that could able to avoid up gambling way more. I dont see any health benefits in gambling though on which this is most likely that you would really be that
having that stress considering that gambling do always mean about losing in the end because we cant really be lucky most of the time. So expect that you wouldnt really be getting rich with gambling.
Quit up that kind of thinking that you could really be able to succeed with it, or else you would be finding yourself be in a huge problem because of the desperation that you do really have.
This is why you should really be careful on what those intents and motives that you do have in mind.

Although gambling is an activity that is generally commented on as having negative effects, of course it also has positive effects. Although these positive effects can only be observed in the absence of addiction, gambling actually has some positive effects for the person. For example, if we need to comment in a way that is free from all negative factors;

Gambling can help a person feel better. This feeling can occur not only when winning but also when a person forgets many of his/her problems after spending time gambling.

Gambling also allows a person to spend quality and action-packed time. As I have said many times before, if the individual isn’t addicted to gambling, gambling will be an expensive hobby for that person and will help increase the person's dopamine level in possible gain or loss scenarios.

Gambling also helps develop people’s imagination. We can all admit with peace of mind that most of the time we gamble, we imagine what we could do in case of a possible jackpot. For this reason, I also believe that gambling especially improves the ability to dream and that a person can be happier while gambling because of dreams of potential gain.

Gambling is not bad after all but addiction is, gambling has been receiving a lot of negative reactions and feedback but gambling also has a lot of health benefits associated with it but you can only get these benefits if you are a responsible gambler and you have total control of what you wage and limit your bankroll

These are some of the benefits to see more of its benefits you can read the whole article here

Can you add more besides what's written in this article?

Surprising Health Benefits of Gambling

That's why I personally gamble just for fun. Unlike gambling to make a living, gambling as a hobby indeed helps to relieve stress and improve mood. Irresponsible gambling, on the other hand, can increase the stress levels and can turn gambling hobby into an addiction...

Health benefits ? How about getting depression and all that dark stuff ? Gambling should be just a fun gateway where you can relax a bit , gamble some money and be on your way but nowadays people are super addicted to gambling , they are having mental health problems and this is just sad but finding benefits is really hard when you just gamble besides the dopamine effect you get when you actually win a ticket but after the effect is gone , you will chase that moment over and over again.  Cry

Gambling benefits include critical thinking, and the importance of gambling exists, the problem here is that many people already have bad experiences with gambling, so they go about telling people about how bad gambling is to them. And since many people already have these in mind, when they go into gambling they'll be facing more troubles as well. It's good to see these benefits of gambling, being disseminated amongst gamblers. So that they'll be able to understand gambling is not only affecting human's brain. They're some good aspects of gambling. That's why many CEOs and managers also participate in gambling. Those who spoil the concept of gambling don't have enough control. Not speaking against the effect of gambling on addicts, but it's safe to say that, the whole ball was on their court. In the same way, people benefit through gambling others face difficulties as well. It's quite obvious the bad PR allocated to gambling is flying faster than the importance of gambling. If people understand they can get relief through gambling and enjoy these benefits listed in the article shared by OP. They won't bother so much about making money off gambling. This is one reason why they always get addicted to gambling. Hence, every gambler should also understand that gambling is good and adds value to a healthy life. Uninformed gamblers focus on chasing losses and seeking quick money-making methods, instead of taking it bit by bit and observing the help gambling is adding to their life. Having fun is healthy. Whatever people face in gambling is self-inflicted.

That means your friend is already addicted to gambling because he only thinks about how he can make bets, even if it's just fishing. He really needed to reset his mindset by not thinking about gambling. However, he can do other activities that are not related to betting so that he can really enjoy other activities and will not think about betting. I'm curious what happened to your friend, whether he still uses betting as a hobby or whether he can avoid betting. It seemed like he needed someone else to take his mind off betting or he would just go back to gambling before he knew it.

Gambling should have the opposite effects on someone, if a person is not relaxing and having a good time while gambling, and instead they are getting more stressed out because of it, then it is time those people look for another hobby.

Now such high levels of stress could be explained if a gambler was using too much money and every single loss was too much for them to gamble, and in that case this can be easily solved by lowering the size of our bets to something more manageable.
To be precise, the person should look for a hobby that does not pose a significant risk. But this is not an easy thing to do. Because it requires a long adjustment. Even when someone is too addicted to gambling, then when he does any activity, there must be a bet in it.
Like my friend's story, who tried to divert gambling activities into another hobby, namely fishing. And for the first time the hobby went smoothly and he really enjoyed the fishing activity, but over time when this activity became a little boring, that's when he took the initiative to apply bets in the hobby.

From the OP,

# It improves mood: This depends on how we plan and play our bettings, so this is not entirely true. Gambling could improve mood or spoil one's mood, and it all depends on whether the gambler is having a good or bad experience with it. If one gambles with the mindset of fun and also plays it with a little mind that will not bite, then the mood could improve. But if one plays it to earn money primarily, then the opposite could be the case if the money is not coming.

# It is a stress reliever: Same as above, it depends on the mindset at which the gambler plays. It could be bad if the gambler is addicted or believes that he will make his lifetime riches through gambling. But if the person keeps on getting the opposite experience, it becomes so bad and could increase stress.

# It helps us to take risks: Yes, we take risks in gambling but I don't see how this is a positive side of it or adds to someone's life when most people lose their money.

On #1, gambling's main objective is to give entertainment to the players but again we wage real money, it depends on how the person now how they handles their emotions, people could be happy because of their winnings, sad, angry, and fearful every time they lose and make a wage on the game or else depression and anxiety due to excessive playing of gambling so it depends on the person if this improves their mood, and tested out their emotional intelligence. On #2 could be a stress reliever but could be lead like the end of the statement in #1 its part of the entertainment so if you win sure you will really relieve your self but how about you lose? could bring stress of course if money matters.

It is true that it is the main purpose of gambling, and gambling also pays if someone manages to get a win from gambling if they are lucky and also it will make them happy, because they can benefit from gambling.  and there are also those who are sad, disappointed and upset because they get a defeat where luck has not been on their side so it is not the victory they get but the defeat they get, and this is a factor that can make a person experience many things and can even change his behavior. But for those who gamble with the aim of just entertainment, they will not experience this because they have limits in gambling and of course it is a good thing and also gambling should only be for entertainment not more than that.

So all things in gambling can be called opposite, where gambling can relieve stress, and can also bring stress. It all depends on the person who responds to gambling.

Indeed, in gambling there are only wins and losses so we are just waiting to see whether we are lucky to win or bad luck to lose, both always go hand in hand and what is always more present is defeat.
From here, even though defeat gives sadness, loss, increased emotionality, but if we can take the positive side, it will never make someone depressed and instead give stronger patience and sincerity.
In every activity there are always benefits and disadvantages depending on how person does the activity and whether they have the right approach or not.

Losing money will not make us feel depressed and stressed if we have accepted all the losses that will occur from the start.
Earning money is not easy and may be full of hard work and if you use it to gamble and lose it can be disappointing but we have to be able to accept it because we decided to gamble with that money.
Those who decide and are sure to gamble and then lose experience disappointment and cannot accept it, causing depression and stress, so I call them irresponsible gamblers because they fail to take responsibility for their actions.

While it's true that some people find entertainment and a temporary escape through gambling, it's important to acknowledge the potential risks associated with this activity. Gambling can indeed lead to addiction, financial strain, and increased stress, particularly for those with limited income who may be more affected by the negative consequences of significant losses. While some people may experience short-term relief from loneliness or stress through gambling, the long-term effects can be detrimental.
Gambling, in general, is not something to be used by people who are not financially stable enough to be able to afford it. It requires money that one doesn't need, which means that if you have everything else covered in your life, like your personal or family expenses, your savings, and your future investments, and you still have some money at your disposal, that's the money you should be used for gambling because in that case, even if you lose the money, it won't have any financial or psychological effect on you.

So, people who are lonely or depressed but aren't doing well financially shouldn't choose gambling as a stress reliever because there are thousands of other ways one can use that will cost them less money or even no money at all but will help them get out of the situations they are in.

I've been saying this, there are many things that people can use to have fun and they are things that help to stop a person from being sad when they have a big problem in life, for example a person when they constantly suffer a lot of criticism at work. and at home, that person can take time to listen to music, go to the cinema, go to the beach to spend time and look at the sea and the birds, that person can take their money and go shopping for the things they like most, that person They don't need to stay indoors, locked in their room and playing computer games and run the risk of losing all their money and then becoming addicted, they don't need to go through that.

but when a person has serious financial problems and that person needs money or when a person doesn't have a job and lives at home with his parents and always depends on the money that his parents give him but he wants to have his own money so that he doesn't need to depend on money of the parents, but more than many years pass that he cannot find a job and the person becomes desperate, so that person will start gambling with the thought that he needs to earn a lot of money quickly so that person will be having a lot of losses and even then that person will not will take time to think about these losses and stop playing, on the contrary, this person will be playing even more with the aim of needing to win a lot of money to change their life.
You raised an important issue: the difference between leisure and escapism, especially in gambling. Gambling should be entertainment, not a life solution. Gambling for enjoyment is about adrenaline, socializing, and understanding our boundaries. An activity, not a coping strategy. But isn't gambling a risky retreat from deeper difficulties like financial stress or relentless criticism? Subtle changes from a bit of fun to addiction are often overlooked. Isn't it important to spot this transition early? Isn't gambling a slippery slope for someone seeking rapid financial gain? The promise of easy money is deceptive. Gambling is intended to benefit the house, not the player. Is it not necessary to explore alternatives in this situation? Skills improvement, job counseling, and financial assistance may be better. Gambling in a desperate attempt to improve finances typically deepens depression. Shouldn't society raise awareness of gambling's dangers and encourage healthier coping?
