Hi everyone,

I started out using Bitcoin in 2013 and have been enjoying the ride so far. I really think Bitcoin will be changing the world and am more excited about the network and the applications of something as powerful as the blockchain rather than simply the price of the bitcoin currency itself.

I feel that the entire idea of a global, public ledger will help the world become more united and usher in a new era of people feeling as if they are citizens of the planet versus just citizens of a specific country or state.

Thanks for reading. Smiley

I like in fact the idea of "unity", and you are write, we don't need to be divided by labels which we HUMANS created, in end, we are all human beings.

maybe if i post on every thread i can finally participate in coin discussions
Yeah, no. I'm sure that would classify as spam and get your posts deleted or have you banned accordingly.

Look for threads that have deeper value, such as ones where you can form discussions and actively talk back and forth with others. That is where you can get real thread value from.

On the other hand, assuming you make constructive posts in every thread, you could actually probably do that. But it depends on how well you formulate your posts. More than a few sentences is a good idea, which are related to the topic.

Posting in a few threads with re-post value can be far better than posting in every single thread that exists.

It is a fun community.  A lot of us are full of it.  Others do know what they are talking about.

People are scared of they don't understand. Thus why we see all the negativity from someone whos not into bitcoins. But yes, I also think that in a few years or even maybe months, most of this about btc will be changed. Cheesy

People are also scared of missing out on something they don't understand. Cheesy

as i know, bitcoin transaction highly anonymous  Shocked
so it can be use for something criminal  Angry
like funding terorism  Sad

And so some people want more regulations, while some want even more anonymity (eg. DRK).

I think bitcoin has already changed the world slightly (like making people re-think about the current banking and financial systems), and this is just the beginning. Smiley

Interesting. It didn't strike me at first that accounts here could be valuable and could be hacked. Now I see it.

Just posting my BTC wallet address to make sure my account is recoverable in case it is ever hijacked. Advise anyone else who hasn't posted a wallet address that they own yet to do so to protect their account.

Good idea. Here's my address: 1H5a4QBemypd6SBQjKnK76dw4KbmoLicz9

How does posting your address help recover your account in case it is hijacked?

Good question. So the way it works is that if your account was to be hijacked, you would be able to sign a message from your Bitcoin wallet and send that to the board's admins, using the address that you've posted here to prove that you do own that address. Once an admin sees that you do actually own that address, it is obvious that you also own the account and you will be able to get your account back.

The reason we are posting it is because even if the account hijacker was to try to edit/delete the post, the admins still can see the original post that was made and will be able to verify it.

The exact account recovery process is described here. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/recovering-hacked-accounts-or-accounts-with-lost-passwords-497545
