Welcome back to the cool clan!  Cool

To answer your question, today, it would take you 72.32 days to make 1 BTC without any power expenses, according to CoinWarz...

You also have to factor pool luck and if you pay fees.

Happy Hashing!

you will also find the underclocking capabilities of the Sp-Tech rigs, second to none.
just realised that my best performing SP10 which has been running since April is doing > 1.3TH/s pulling only 833w
top one is the best SP10, then 2 S3's, then another SP10.

I just started mining 2 weeks ago. I now have 3 antminer s4's and I recently purchased an SP20 which will bring me up to 7.7TH's. If you really have free electric(I pay $0.095/Kw), you should be shopping for the best bang for your buck (GHs/$).

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_Hardware_Comparison

Although it's not the most up to date it shows a quick overview of most of the miners available. I tend to look at GHs/Watt, but you should really focus on GHs/$$, but also pay attention to how many watts the device uses per PSU because you'll still need proper electrical wiring and circuit breakers to support these ASIC beasts. For example if you only have a 15amp breaker you'll only be running 1 S4 or SP20 because they easily pool 1300-1400W on a breaker rated for 1650W(110V). As you begin to expand you'll start to realize you'll have to upgrade your electrical wiring to accomodate ASICs in a residential environment.

Antminer S4 ($1200 + $160 shipping) = 2000GH/s/$1360 = 1.47GH/s/$

Spondoolies SP20 ($695 + $119 shipping + $150 1300W PSU) = 1700TH/s/$964 = 1.76GH/s/$
(cyber monday price still available for SP20...$695)

If you can talk someone into giving you a $400 Antminer S4 coupon(Expires 12/15) then the pricing shifts back in favor of the S4 like so...
Antminer S4 ($1200 - $400 + $160 shipping) = 2000GH/s/$960 = 2.08GH/s/$

As far as usability the ASICs are very easy to setup. The S4 requires you to only have to plug in the power cable (14AWG gauge recommended and not included) and a network cable and then remote into the unit from your home network, setup your pool settings and your off and running in minutes.

I've not used the SP20 yet, but I assume its similar, except that I will have to plug an external PSU to the SP20 to give it power. I bought a Rosewill Lightning-1300 1300W 80 PLUS Gold PSU from Newegg for $182 to power the SP20. (P.S. you can pay with bitcoin on Newegg now!)

Hope this helps.

Hi guys, I used to mine btc a couple years back with my radeon cards, but that got old quick, so I decided to take a plunge for the back Friday sales. I decided to pick this baby up   "BitCrane T-110S 1 Th/s Ultra-Silent BitCoin Mining System"

So it does 1Th/s. How long would it take to mine 1 single BTC (in a decent pool, I need some help with this though, can somoene point me in the right direction with a good pool? Thanks!)?

Im basically just looking for some basic info about it, as I've been out of the business for a while... Thanks fellas!

And also, did I make a good purchase or was this a stupid waste? haha Tongue

80 days.

It'll take you about 80 days to mine 1 BTC with your T110s on Eligius.st.  I'm a few weeks ahead of you, I bought two T110s mid-November - when they dropped from $1299 to $998 - even in the face of all the "don't mine" wisdom.  So you are already doing better than me with your Black Friday purchase.  With two of these, I get about 0.01 BTC every four days.  Setup is a breeze, from signing for the parcel delivery to mining can be done in minutes.

I did however purchase two SP20's on Cyber Monday, rather than adding more T110's.  More power (hashing, less electrical), more flexibility. Now, the only thing between me and SP3X's is wrapping my head around DGM pool and miner rental strategies - and 220V power accommodations.

Add; are we sure that bit crane are legit?

At one time they were, just expensive.  It's been a while since ive seen someone talk about purchasing them till this.

It would not have been my first choice in companies.  But I guess to each his own.

one more question... will I be able to switch from mining bitcoins to some other alternative currency with T-110?

I very much doubt that you would want to, but yes SHA256d coins. As any SHA256 asic device will let you do.

If it is sha-256 yes, but it won't be able to do scrypt.

I have free electricity, so it really seemed like a good idea to me lol.

I also have free power and the best method is to buy used...even then you will not make a huge profit these days.

Your best bet is used S3's for sure...the SP stuff is nice, but pricey.

yes  if your power is free buy used. from a guy like me.

if you are like me and your power is costly buy the best low power gear you can get.   today  that = sp20's

then sell your power hungry gear to a guy like Blazedout419  .  I have sold used gear to blazedout419 twice

first time was s-1's and I purchased s-3's (june 2014)  I had almost broke even  with 3 s-1's the sale put me over the top

second time was s-3's and I purchased sp20's (nov 2014) I had almost broke even with 3 s-3's the sale put me over the top

third time will be the sp20's and I will purchase whatever is more efficient. (april 2015?) time will tell

all of sp-tech miners are user-friendly and configurable.
So, here's what you need to consider.
Price per GH
Watts per GH
Resale value.

I have been mining with SP-Tech equipment since SP10 (bought in March) and I am STILL running those SP10, alongwith my other SP-Tech miners.
I have found that the customisability of the miner (downclocking) is second to none. I am running each of my old SP10 at max 833watts and getting 1.2TH/s
That is still a profitable miner - EIGHT months from the date I received them. Of course, they have paid me back the purchase price long ago.

I'm now mining with the SP20 and I am underclocking these also;
745watts mining at > 1.35TH/s - i worked out that these will still mine profitable right up until difficulty hits 100billion.

If I were to sell on my old SP10's I'd easily get a decent price for them.
Spondoolies, somehow have created the most efficient, most stable and most trustworthy miners, ever.

in addition, noise is an issue for a lot of people. The SP20 is louder than an S3+ or an S4.

regarding resale - Bitmain products generally have the best value as they are very home user friendly - even S1 units can still sell locally for $40-70 each. Spondoolies gear is sometimes a harder sell.

not sure why you underclock the SP20 - do you pay >$0.20/kwh for power? Most calculations show you will make more in the next month at 1.7TH/1100W then you will by massively sacrificing hashrate to save some electricity.

yes my electric is 11.4p / kWh  - quite expensive, however, the only reason i underclock the SP20 is indeed, the fan noise. I have it situated in the room adjacent to my living room and at fan speed 40 it's ok. if I put it out in the garage, i'd probably have it running on turbo but for the winter, it's also saving me in heating bills - i don't have my central heating on and that single SP20 is giving a cosy warmth to the entire downstairs of my flat.

Look at SP20 or bitmain products.  Either way you cannot go wrong.   Both easy to configure, and I would say much easier then GPU mining days you mention.  I was always having to tinker with GPUs long ago, a lot of these you can set and forget.

+1
that's about the size of it currently. i run miners from both companies. quite happy with both.

for a pool, i mine DGM and would recommend www.mmpool.org - we could use more miners - being honest  Undecided

The truth is you are better off buying coins than miners these days.

This statement is only true to those who can predict the future, and that future shows it to be so.

I also buy coins but i can't see the future.
Mining is slightly more fun than buying.
