I believe anyone genuinely seeking knowledge will be voracious in reading and researching and when I don't find it in these newbies, I summarily conclude they just want to be here for the grab; so to say. Recently, we've seen a preponderance of "I'm a newbie" threads pop up here and there. They can lurk around, study and read comments in the forum and form answers to some of the questions they might have asked in a haste, without screaming they're here.
I don't think you are harsh either and sometimes I take it to be a notice me attitude, I might be wrong but that's how I feel. I believe anyone that created an account here and truly wants to learn shouldn't start his first post on the forum with "I am new here" or "I just signed up and I need help knowing how the forum works". I expect such a person to spend a good amount of time lurking around, reading up, knowing some vital information about the forum and when there are questions worth asking, then they can be presented to forum members for help.

Hello, my name is Smart-Cash. I don't know where to begin. Because I am new to this forum. I would like to know some of the rules and regulations of this forum and guidelines to avoid getting Lost.

Furthermore, how would like to learn more about cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology, How do they operate?
It is worth mentioning that there's a detailed Beginners and Help Encyclopedia of the forum compiled by Ratimov, it is a rich resource center where you can easily navigate and read topics that might interest you. You're welcome to the forum.

Hello Smart-cash!

I hope you are doing well.

I am also new here and I started posting on this platform a few days ago (I mean I started posting recently but I created this account a few months ago). I also asked the same questions to my brothers in the Arabic community and they explained everything quite clearly and also shared some helpful topics with me. I would also like to share these topics with you hoping that they will help answer all your questions. I will also provide a brief explanation of each topic and what details are covered in them.

Topics:
Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
FAQ: Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit

In First topic, you shall find all the guidelines and rules of Bitcointalk. You shall learn how to make posts what to avoid and how to keep your account safe including tips on avoiding merit abuse.

In second topic ,explains the rank system and merit system. You shall learn how accumulating merits can lead to a higher rank how to send merits to some one and insights into how activity affects your forum experience.

These sort of questions are been repeatedly made if not on a daily in the forum by almost every newbie that just arrive to the forum. And I guess some of these newbies were been introduced to the forum by already existing members of the forum , they could do well to educate them about certain rules of the forum by offering the forum rules thread links to them to avoid these redundant repetitive questions.
Mentors are sometimes not responsible for what they have introduced to someone - including not teaching them the right way to start a forum. It also reflects on the OP if he was actually introduced to this forum by someone - but something else you can think of like alt trying to get attention on day one.

For those of them that stumbled on the forum by way of chance while searching for bitcoin related questions, in like manner you can also search and DYOR requesting from Google about the rules and regulations that guides the forum and how it operates to avoid these repetitions. Cause I feel I have seen a lot of these same questions.
If you're not a previous user of online discussion forum - then I'm sure you won't know the correct steps to get started. They should have read the pinned topic for beginners - but he ignored that and opted to create his own topic instead. There's nothing wrong with the OP actually trying to get some help - but he should be able to use a little time reading some of the beginner's guides.

As a newbie, try and make researches on Google and read the resources provided to you by other forum members that posted above. Instead of asking questions that aren't necessary, you can use the search engine to search for topics of your interest.

Also try and identify yourself with your local board so that you can understand more about the forum in your local language. You should take your time and navigate through the various boards in the forum and find boards of your interest so that you can contribute there. Learn and read more than posting for now,so that you can grow fast as a newbie.

Now that you've received enough advice and links to learn from what's expected of you as a newbie to the forum, i will add my own suggestion that you should give a serious attention to the rules especially, and create time to occasionally read them in other to get familiar with them, I will also like to make an emphatic stress on this rule which says "don't PLAGIARIZE" it's the quickest way to end a journey on bitcointalk.

first of all you are welcome, to bitcointalk.org a place to learn and earn at the same time thats if you know how to be patient, now i believe few members have shared a link to where you will get all the rules and guidelines of the forum. Now what i will want you to do for me is to lock the topic, that feature is located at the right hand side of the post you made at the bottom. which i know you dont need any further answers.

I would like to think that it is different, but somehow it seems to me that these days we have a lot more newbies who do not seem unique to me, not only in the way they think when it comes to Bitcoin, but also in the sense that they are not very innovative (and not even smart) when choosing their names. The term "smart" seems to be quite popular these days Roll Eyes

I agree with your reading that the OP probably many of the newbies we see around here are undeclared alts. In principle, even if they don't say they are alts, we don't have to assume they break the rules and alts are allowed, but in most cases we end up finding out over time that they trade merits with each other or join the same signature campaign, things like that.

Of course I'm not saying that the OP is someone's alt account, but the methods people use to build alt farms on this forum are getting more and more cunning. Therefore, I would recommend that you be careful with merits until you are sure that the user is a unique person who has sincere intentions.

In any case, we should give merits to their posts simply for the quality of the content.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I can see you have already gained a lot of answers on your question about how the technology works or what this forum is about. I would like to add some basic etiquettes which I would expect any new beginner to follow while being on this forum. Can't really enforce them but still, would appreciate if you follow them.

- Read more, post less.
- Use search feature, you can even search on Google for posts from this forum (any xyz topic bitcointalk.org)
- Make sure you write what you strongly believe in, no one is perfect. Do not judge people from their forum ranks.

Ops have not responded to any comment here since the creation of the thread and as a newbie I believe he is busy reading and observing others comments to know where to start,  I am sure he will already read the forum rules and have digested them,  making sure not to violate any of them.
So at that let me join others to welcome you to the forum and in going forward,  the only thing that differentiates you from others is your unique ability to prove us wrong that you going to be a wonderful forum member in the future.

NOTE: The most important thing here is plagiarism, mate. Don't make that mistake here because that is what most newbies do and get themselves banned, so I highly recommend you be careful of what you write here. Make sure what you are discussing here is not someone's idea or something copied from the internet. Such things are prohibited, mate. I wish you the best of luck while operating on the forum.

You can use click read before posting
Most newbies begin this way and end up plagiarising certain content in the forum and being banned by the moderators, probably because they did not follow the forum rules and advice offered to them by other forum colleagues.

Plagiarism has resulted in a significant number of bans for newcomers. I hope that newcomers will take this forum seriously by adhering to the forum rules, avoiding copy and paste, and developing contents from AI.

Nevertheless, welcome to the forum, Smart-cash. I hope you take all the advice given to you by my fellow colleagues and make use of the links provided for you because they are the foundation you need now. Best of luck.

Its not necessary needed to post that you are new here much better if you read first the threads post especially those pinned ones since from that you can learn a lot of informations there.

Also there's a search bar in this forum and everything you search will pop up there so best use that since for sure you would not waste your time reading unnecessary post from multiple people.

Welcome to the forum. A few members that commented above me already gave you the necessary information that you need, so I don't have to send the same link again. But I notice that every newbie joining the forum is creating a similar thread making an introduction, which I think is not really making sense. All the necessary information that we all need to post on the forum has already been pinned, so I see no reason to ask for the links again, and I am sure even after posting the link here, most of those newbies won't still read it. Maybe a thread should be created in case any newbies decide to make an introduction. They can do it there, but it's annoying seeing newbies introduce themselves every week.

Yeah, the same story again.

I don't like to be hard on newbies, and I know that sometimes I have been in threads of this style although more crude, but I don't see a promising future for those who come to the forum expecting us to give them everything on a platter.
You aren't harsh if you've this mindset. I do too. Sometimes I think it's sheer laziness that makes them ask questions that are staring them in the fact right there. I believe anyone genuinely seeking knowledge will be voracious in reading and researching and when I don't find it in these newbies, I summarily conclude they just want to be here for the grab; so to say. First unofficial rule: Probably read around or use Google first before asking as to prevent redundant questions. This questions is being asked like a few times a week.

Yeah, the same story again.

I don't like to be hard on newbies, and I know that sometimes I have been in threads of this style although more crude, but I don't see a promising future for those who come to the forum expecting us to give them everything on a platter. I don't know, maybe I lived in a time when when you wanted to acquire knowledge about a specific topic you had to physically leave home and go to a library, or to buy books maybe previously having talked with someone so they could guide you on how to get the information, while today you can get a lot of information that the wise men of antiquity could not have even dreamed of at the click of a button.

My advice, OP is to be as autonomous as possible to acquire knowledge of the topics discussed in the forum and in general. Of course, if you have a specific question when you are learning, ask in the forum and we will help you.

Cantasy has already provided you with several resources to help you learn more about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. There are no complex rules for local boards you can ask locally and for the other section you can read the pin posts there, I think the most prominent rule newbies need to be informed of is the forum doesn't compromise on the content quality and originality so you must not spam in any term of AI or Plagiarism.

Things similar to that, for rest you will go through them as time will pass.
