I've been lurking for a few weeks and decided I should probably get around to registering since I spend so much time reading these forums lol.
I hadn't even heard of alternative digital currencies till the news story a little while back about the guy who threw out his hard drive with a big bitcoin wallet on it so I started to find out a bit more about it as I couldnt believe how much money the guy could supposedly have made from something as simple as folding at home. Turns out mining actual btc isnt quite that simple lol.
At this point in time I'm limited in resources to a pretty average nvidia gpu so Ive been experimenting with solo mining on some of the altcoins. Results havent led to to believe I can retire anytime soon but encouraging enough to think about splashing out on a good ati gpu after xmas.
I've learned a lot of good things lurking around here, and I havent found anywhere else with the wealth of information on alternate currencies in one place so thank you all
